MEMBERS MAKE MERRY AT MID-SUMMER

On July 21 of 1951, Members of the MAC gathered in the Missouri Room for their annual Mid-Summer Dinner Dance. They were treated to a banquet-style menu of baked Maine lobster, roast larded beef HAPPY tenderloin, demi-glace or chicken breast along with cold vichyssoise and a peach sundae for dessert. Hal Havird and his popular band of musicians were welcomed back to the Club to provide music for the attendees. They played Summer! their scintillating tunes for the dancers until 1 a.m. The dinner was served from 8:30 until 10:30 p.m. At several of the larger tables around the dance floor groups attired in formal dress were celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.
