The Missouri Athletic Club has lots to offer for tennis players of all skills and abilities. The professional tennis staff at the MAC is prepared to assist adults of all skill levels through private lessons and programs that vary throughout the year, such as:

Adult

F Adult Tennis Clinics F Adult Cardio Tennis Classes F Ladies Interclub Practices and Matches F Men’s 55+ Interclub Match Play F Adult Tennis Ladder and Matchmaker F USTA Adult Leagues F Private Lessons (1-4 players)

JUNIOR TENNIS SuMMER SESSION

These camps will run weekly, Monday through Friday, excluding May 30.

Summer Morning Performance Tennis

F Monday-Thursday, 9-11 a.m. F Coach-led drills, skills and gameplay for high/peak/ elite performance athletes. Friday will be for match play.

F $170 per MAC Member per player per week

F $40 per MAC Member per player per day

F $210 per guest per week

Beginner And Intermediate Tennis Camps (Ages 7-14)

F Monday-Friday, 1-4 p.m. F This program is for orange/green/intermediate athletes and requires a full-week commitment. If a player is not unable to attend a full week but would still like to participate on certain days, email cstevenson@mac-stl.org.

F $270 per MAC Member player per week

F $310 per guest player per week F Location: West Clubhouse

Red Ball (Ages 4-6)

F Monday-Friday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. and 4-5 p.m. F These classes have been switched from 12-1 p.m. Players who sign up for a week, must stay with one specific time slot. If a player is unable to attend a full week but would still like to participate, email cstevenson@mac-stl.org.

BU13 In the finals, Bruce Elvin beat Brody Gilbert 2-1. For third and fourth place, Bob Scheiber beat Kevin Dolan 2-0. BU19 In the finals, Henry Byrne beat CJ Goot 3-0. For third and fourth place, Blake Engelmeyer beat Oscar Sorkin. F

Start Summer With Squash

June 6-10, June 13-17, July 25-29, Aug. 1-5 and Aug. 8-12

Join MAC squash pro, Alex Ingham, to practice and learn new skills this summer at the West Clubhouse. There are five sessions to choose from beginning June 6 and ending Aug. 12.

Patnana Represents

at National Squash Championship

Recently, MAC athlete Rhea Patnana assisted her squash team at Mary Institute and Saint Louis County Day School in the Division III Girls Squash National Championship in Philadelphia, PA. Patnana won the seventh and deciding match, 3-0 and went 4-0 for the whole event. The success the MICDS Rams experienced resulted in their first national squash title. Congratulations! F

USA Racquetball Missouri State Championship

On April 9, Members Marco Bertarelli and Mark McClanahan represented the MAC at the USA Racquetball Missouri State Championship. The talented athletes played in a tough bracket, but ultimately got gold for Men’s A Doubles.

Sizzling Swoosh

The 2022 Winter Open Basketball League at the Downtown Clubhouse concluded on Tuesday, March 15. A total of 12 teams compete in the league. The winner of the Winter Open League was the team captained by Nathan Stonner. They beat the team captained by Luke Bumgarner 58-45 in the championship game. Team Stonner entered the playoffs as the number three overall seed with a record of 5-3 and finished with an 8-3 overall record on their way to the 2022 Winter Open League Championship. Mike Crawford (Team Poelker) led the entire league in scoring with an average of 38.3 points per game (PPG). Jamie Hudson (Team Morris) finished second with 25.9 PPG, Ben Kratz (Team Drury) finished third with 25.3 PPG, Luke Hornof (Team Hornof) finished fourth with 21.9 PPG and Ross Knutson (Team Knutson) finished fifth with 21.8 PPG to round out the top five scorers in the league. The 2022 Winter Over 40 Basketball League at the Downtown Clubhouse concluded on Wednesday, March 9. We had seven teams compete in the league this fall. The winner of the Winter Over 40 League was the team captained by Brent Kaniecki. They beat the team captained by Seamus McGowan 58-57 in the championship game. Team Kaniecki entered the playoffs as the number one overall seed with a record of 5-0 and finished with a 7-0 overall record on their way to an undefeated 2022 Winter Over 40 League Championship. Al Meitl (Team McGowan) led the entire league in scoring with an average of 21.8 points per game (PPG). Tim Van Rhein (Team Alexander) finished second with 21.2 PPG, T.C. Slater (Team Eckert) finished third with 18.3 PPG, Tom Sehy (Team Hermann) finished fourth with 15.4 PPG and Brian Ziegler (Team McGowan) finished fifth with 15.2 PPG to round out the top five scorers in the league.
