Br ing in t he Season Embrace fall with seasonal decor that includes pumpkins, leaves and other signs of autumn. Whether your tastes trend toward modern or rustic, there are ways to incorporate fall?s best into your wedding.
RUSTIC If you?re shooting for a country look to your big day, then look to the outdoors. Leaves in gorgeous fall colors, fat orange and white pumpkins, cobs of multicolored corn can adorn tables, accent bouquets and star in centerpieces. Line the aisle with festive piles of decorative gourds and greenery. Use miniature pumpkins as paperweights for guest books, copies of invitations or wedding programs. Bales of hay can also do duty as places to sit ? use an appropriate covering ? as sign posts, or to separate one part of a ceremony for another.
classic colors like gold and silver to give your ceremony a taste of the season. Pumpkins, when hollowed, also make excellent bowls to hold iced drinks, soups, flowers, or, if you use a faux gourd, favors and more.
CHOOSING REAL PUM PKINS
Set off a tasteful modern decor with artfully arranged branches in vases, as part of centerpieces, or even adorning a delightful arch. Use single leaves in rich colors to (safely)
Turn to your favorite craft store for lots of fake pumpkins in a variety of colors and sizes, but if you only want the real thing, here are some tips for choosing the best ones. Modern Farmer says to look for pumpkins with thick, sturdy stems and no soft spots. And never carry the pumpkin by its stem. Keep the pumpkins out of the sunlight and in a cool place and drape the entire

Love in Layer s Getting married in the colder months doesn?t mean you have to be cold. Use the season as an excuse to add stylish ? and essential ? accessories to your bridal look. Here are a few elegant and on-trend suggestions to keep you and the entire bridal party nice and toasty. FOR THE BRIDE Snow drifting down softly over your shoulders ? and a chilly winter breeze at your back ? is the perfect reason to partake in the latest bridal fashion trend: the cape. Bridal capes have hit the runways in every style, length and fabric, but all are chic, classic, and most importantly, warm. If you have your heart set on a stole, consider going vintage; you will likely find a quality fur at an affordable price and won?t be contributing to the current fur industry, as you will be reusing a vintage piece. AND HER LADIES Pretty shawls, soft pashminas and cute mittens keep bridesmaids warm and offer a stylish accessory that a bride can gift to her girls. If you are getting
hitched in a seriously snowy location, don?t for - get about a set of colorful Wellies to keep everyone?s toes nice and dry. These accessories also can add some serious punch to any bridal photo shoot. FOR THE GROOM There is nothing more dapper than a groom in a well-tailored overcoat. Keep to classic accessories, such as butter-soft gloves and a thick woolen scarf in a subdued hue. Keep fabric in mind and choose a suit or tux in a wool blend. If your wedding is more rustic or informal, consider having the groom wear a rich sweater in luxe cashmere. Don?t be afraid to think out - side the box. AND HIS FELLAS Gifting the groomsmen bright scarves can make for a stunning scene. Think of a row of groomsmen in navy suits and white scarves, or black suits and red scarves, or brown with burgundy.

Wed d ing Planning Here are the first few things you need think about: PICK A STYLE Have a conversation with your fiance and discuss how you want your wedding to feel. Fun and festive? Intimate and sophisticated? Has one of you always dreamed of marrying barefoot on a beach or on the lawn of a stately mansion? What are the most vital elements of the wedding to each of you? Decide what?s most important to each of you and compromise. DECIDE ON A TIM ELINE While the availability of your most coveted vendors will help you choose an exact date, you still need to think about other factors that will impact your timeline: Is there a season or time of year you hope to marry in, or avoid? Holidays or other family events you need to work around? You also might consider how much time you need for planning and preparations. The answers to
all of these questions will help shape the time-line of your wedding. SET YOUR BUDGET This can be one of the most difficult tasks of wedding planning. You need to have sit-down conversations with each other, and with each set of parents, to be clear who will be contributing what when it comes to finances. These numbers will impact every other decision you make, and you don?t want to plan or purchase based on assumptions. BOOK PRIORITY VENDORS Priority vendors will be the people in charge of the
elements most important to you and your fiance. The most significant of these vendors will likely be your venue. Your venue will impact almost all other aspects of your wedding ? including your date. Another vendor who will likely take top billing is your photographer. Be sure to research all your options to to secure the best price with the extra amenities you want.
