behind it all... Some of my fondest childhood memories, center around my time spent at the Lake of the Ozarks with my family and friends. Warm summers, my days working the gas dock and thousands of laughs continually echo in my mind. My grandparents owned a quaint little vacation home there and if anyone were to ask me what my favorite and most special times were growing up, that answer has always been those wonderful years. Today, as a mom, grandmother, daughter, aunt and friend, I can think of no greater pursuit, than coming home to serve and promote the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks and Missouri. Two years ago I took a leap of faith and began building Missouri Magazine. Today we have a strong presence and I am excited that you’re holding in your hands the inaugural issue. is a contemporary abstractionist painter known for her expressive use of color and textural approach to her mixed media paintings.

Layers of suggested imagery create depth and tension within her compositions enticing the viewer to reflect on their own psyche. While imagery might appear free-spirited or random, Weissenbach’s paintings are always a visual allegory which entice the viewer to consider a larger message; love, loss, change, aging, growth and human relationships. Her use of color and tonality within abstract elements intentionally suggests the conflict or adaptation between personal relationships and the changing dynamic of individual personalities when confronted with uncontrolled cultural and societal issues. Speaking visually through metaphor, she addresses her canvas with the sincerity and authenticity that one might approach a personal journal or a letter to friend. The canvas serves as an emotional outlet, pure catharsis, where she can therapeutically purge and visually record feelings and reactions to both observed situations and experiences. Social media has become the virtual confessional for the contemporary conscience. The artist presents herself openly

own ideas, experiences, desires, and observed situations are recorded on the canvas with the fluent sincerity and immediacy of a virtual status update. All in a brush stroke. I’m interested in the idea that within the ambiguity of specific color juxtapositions and marks, these ideas within abstract forms can suggest my own emotions and communicate visually to influence the mood of others. Color and tonality within these suggested forms revealed within my process inspire ideas which address moral, spiritual, or social meaning. As with individual personalities, colors interact differently as they adapt to the context of their environment. I find comfort within this ambiguity that becomes interpretive and dependent upon the individual experiences of the viewer in unison with my for public consumption and suggested imagery. It becomes judgement, praise and criticism... a conversation with the viewer repentance and revelations… rather than a monologue. empathy and regret… love and Emotions and| memories become loss…healing and progress. faintly familiar to the viewer, like a song you once heard... one... Pigments juxtaposed in complex relationships upon the canvas surreptitiously suggest visual narratives. Just as individual personalities define each social situation, color and tonality imitates life in creating the context and defining the mood of the painting. Intensity and illumination are strong personalities which alter both color and emotion, just as lighting within a space calms the spirit. My approach to color on a canvas can similarly affect one’s mood and trigger memories in a comforting, redemptive way. Intentional, discriminate application of color reflecting upon the canvas has become my catharsis...my muse...my news feed.

How would you describe your art?

My paintings are automatic and therapeutic. I would describe them as colorfully gestural Contemporary Abstraction, or non-objective. They don’t visually represent a specific object or location, but rather an emotion, experience or feeling. What is one of your favorite quotes?

My work is on display and available for viewing at Weinberger Fine Art. I have other shows in the works, but cannot announce them quite yet. What are your thoughts on being an artist in today’s world?

She has served on the City of Lee’s Summit’s Art’s Council in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, but her refuge and love of the lake has brought her back to the Lake of the Ozarks where she spends her free time at her home in Sunrise Beach. Her Post-Graduate Studies at the Kansas City Art Institute are in the concentration of Painting. Rashelle also has a BFA in Illustration and a BSE in Art Education from UCM, a MED in Information Technology from Lesley University in Boston. She shows in regional and national shows and galleries as well works as full time art faculty for advanced painting high school and college students. Rashelle’s work is on display within multiple private and corporate collections and galleries. 10

You have to WANT it. I mean really want it. You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to get up and work every day--not just paint, but promote yourself. It is a business as much as it is therapy. Being a Sunday painter is wonderful if you just want to do it for yourself--and this might be the best reason. But I paint all the time because I can’t imagine not painting. Who is your favorite famous artist? Who inspired you?

There are so many… Robert Rauschenberg, Wayne Thiebaud, Alice Neel, Chuck Close, Franz Kline. What’s happening with your art these days?

It’s ever changing. I try to work outside of my comfort zone to avoid habitually recreating the same narrative. I aim to constantly research and find new aesthetic influences. Notice color in new contexts. Doing simple things like adding new colors to my palette helps balance the seasons and add new life to my work. I don’t want to become stale or stagnant and recreate the same image for years. I want to continue to grow.

What are you working on now?

Currently I am working on a children’s book for a publisher which is consuming a lot of my time. I can’t get into the details, but I am very excited about it! I have recently worked on everything from Editorial Illustrations, book covers, animal portraits, private commissions, graphic design logos, cards, and my personal work. I can’t say I enjoy one job more than the other. I learn from them all. Where can people view your art?

Right now, I am working on the children’s book so I really don’t have time to focus on putting a show together. Once I complete the book I want to do a series that I have been sketching and getting rough ideas on. I am really excited about starting on that! Tifani Carter grew up in Missouri and married young (still happily married for 27 years) and currently lives in Lee’s Summit. Tifani raised 3 kids, and while they were young she was unable to go to college. So, she would head over to the library constantly and rent any and every kind of how to book on painting and drawing. She would also read the history of the Masters and try to learn as much as she could inbetween diaper changes. On the weekends, she would go to the Nelson and be there for hours looking at all the wonderful works of art. Tifani is so grateful to live close to an amazing museum. Her parents live at the Lake of the Ozarks and she visits them often, bringing along her art. Tifani said, “it’s nice to reboot and get inspired by the beautiful imagery the lake offers”.

How do you describe your art?

I like to describe my art as detailed with personality, and touches of whimsical attributes. I love drawing/painting animals and people. What is one of your favorite quotes?

“I think you need to work on developing your ideas more!” John Lynch (this is from one of my amazing professors who I miss dearly) Where did you study art?

When my youngest was getting ready to head to Kindergarten, we moved closer to the community college and I was able to take a couple of classes each semester. I graduated from Longview Community College, and then went to the University of Central Missouri UCM and graduated with a BFA in Studio Art/ Illustration. I absolutely loved every moment of school. I think for me personally it was better that I went later, rather than when I was younger. I could focus and really put all my heart and energy into all of my work.

There are so many marketing opportunities these days. And that is a great thing! But at the same time, it can be a negative – you really have to work hard and focus in order to make a name for yourself. There are so MANY avenues to market, that it is easy to get lost. Focus is essential. You cannot give up. Ever. You must keep trying. For me, art is essential to my being. Even if I don’t want to draw, I have to draw because it’s who I am. I am constantly evaluating and examining who I am as an artist, and constantly striving to find my niche, pushing my limits. Who is your favorite artist? Who inspired you?

Some of my favorite current artists are: Ali Cavanaugh, Teresa Elliott, Lee Price, Benjamin Bjorklund (You can probably see a theme here!) As for those who inspired my when I was young, (this depends on what age)? When I was around six years old I would| look for hours at my mother’s big bible and Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni paintings. I still am in awe of his work. As an older teen, I was inspired by Van Gogh, but not just because of his paintings. His biography is incredible and I dug deep into his life. I still love his place in history. Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve been interested in fashion since as early on in my life that I can remember. Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve always enjoyed shopping and putting together outfits and accessories.

Who would be your fashion role model/Icon?

What inspires you to keep up with the current fashion trends?

My role model in fashion is looking around what people are wearing in all areas of the country and try to bring in different pieces that are unique and fashion forward. What’s your career or educational background in the fashion industry?

I have zero! Through high school I worked at different clothing retailers at the mall. Then worked for the City of Eldon, State of Missouri and for a law firm. What are some major setbacks that you’ve had in this particular business, that you had to overcome?

My husband just recently retired after 23 years in the military. I’d say my biggest setback has been relocating for his pcs moves and having to start all over in a new location. Learning the area, styles and trends. Finding a new location etc. However, a lot of my clientele have followed me over the years and still shop with me. 20

I love being able to offer fun and unique trends. I’m on the lookout 24/7. It’s something that I look at when I’m watching TV, at an outing, scrolling through the internet. I want my customers to feel amazing in everything they get and it still be affordable. What are your beauty secrets?

I dress for comfort, no beauty secrets lol. What’s your favorite item in your wardrobe?

My favorite items in my wardrobe would have to be a wrap bracelet, I’ve had for two years. I wear it every single day. It says “if you can dream it, you can accomplish it”. What motivates you to come here everyday to continue to do what you’re doing?

My friends and customers! I don’t look at this like a job, I love it. I

wake up every morning. Wondering who may walk through the door and how I can make their day more enjoyable. I enjoy visiting with everyone that walks through my front door, I love being able to select outfits and accessories for someone for a special occasion or a just because I need a new outfit day, or to help someone find that perfect gift. I have several ladies that come in several times a week just to visit and I cherish those times and to hear about what’s going on in their lives. What are you wearing today?

I’m wearing my favorite pair of denim from the store with my new sparkly shoes we just got in. My two favorite wardrobe pieces. My bracelet is my favorite thing I own. It reminds me of my dad. Both of my parents have always pushed me to do my best and always given me their support. My dad is my biggest supporter and my sound of reason. He’s the one that I listen to if I’m ever in doubt or just need advice. My wonderful husband has always supported me and stood behind me every time I have a crazy idea. He’s very supportive of me and my dreams and he knows that I love what I do and it makes me happy.

CONNECTING TO LEAD Jackie Martin – A Matter of Motivation, LLC

Jackie is the founder and Chief Motivational Officer of A Matter of Motivation LLC. For more than 20 years Jackie has provided speaking and training on engagement, communication, leadership and change to small and large organizations both nationally and internationally. Jackie loves helping team members at all levels have major “ah-ha” moments and has designed and facilitated training for thousands in industries from banking, to medical, to engineering, to non-profit.

My first job out of college was with a Savings & Loan (I just dated myself), the by-gone dinosaurs of the financial world. The C-Suite on the top floor was filled with suits and ties, while everyone else wore navy and burgundy polyester uniforms (now I am really dating myself). The strongest, most feared leaders followed the old code of leadership by power and position. Swagger, bravado, or strength are all labels that accompanied that authoritarian leadership style. Many of today’s leaders (including myself) were weaned on that type of leadership and now struggle to find good role models to emulate. Transitioning to a more effective leadership style can be daunting, so training and coaching can become vital tools. Even Steve Jobs had a reputation of being tough and 22

dictatorial with his subordinates at times. Even though we know that disconnected, authoritarian leadership doesn’t work anymore, it’s hard to find what does work and how to make the changes needed. Today the best leaders use the Law of Connection. Author, speaker, and leadership guru, John Maxwell, wrote one of the leading resources on leadership, “The 21 Laws of Leadership.” Among other critical leadership laws, like the Law of the Lid and the Law of Magnetism, the Law of Connection focuses on the relationship between leaders and those they lead. Zig Ziglar said, “They don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.” But how much do you need to care, and how do you show that without losing your credibility as a leader? According to Maxwell, the stronger the relationship and connection between individuals, the more likely the follower will want to help the leader. “You develop credibility with people when you connect with them and show that you genuinely care and want to help them,” says Maxwell. “And as a result, they usually respond in kind and want to help you.” Here are FOUR ways to build that connection: 1) Connect with Yourself – People are inevitably

drawn to leaders who have confidence in themselves and where they want to lead. Leaders don’t need to know everything, but they do need to have a vision and the energy to move people toward that vision. 2) Connect by Communicating – Be genuine and authentic with your communication, because people can smell a phony a mile away. Be real – warts and all. Why try to hide your faults from the people who know them all anyway? Since, in the absence of information, people always assume the worst, good leaders communicate clearly and often – even when the news is bad. “More is more” when it comes to open communication. 3) Connect to Your Belief in Them – Sincerely believe in your team. If you can’t truly believe in the individuals on your team, then you might have the wrong players on the bus. Communicate to them how valuable they are and how much you believe in them! You might see things in them that they don’t currently see in themselves, and your belief in them can build a connection and loyalty that can last a lifetime. 4) Connect to Offer Direction and Hope – “Leaders are dealers in hope,” said French General Napoleon Bonaparte. Leadership also denotes movement. People are following you because you

are going somewhere they want to go. Provide them the vision, the hope, and the steps toward the future they desire. One other law to remember as you build connections is the Law of Process. Building the trust and confidence we seek in a relationship takes time – it’s a process. It might start as easily as a conversation about family, sports, or school alma maters. By simply spending time with those on your team, you can build personal rapport, paving the way for a deeper connection. Research shows the number one reason why people leave an organization is the relationship with their boss, and the number one reason why they stay is the relationship with their boss! The power of the leader today is in the relationship, not the title. The time, effort, and focused energy spent connecting with those you lead makes all the difference in your own success. “Don’t ever underestimate the importance of building relational bridges between yourself and the people you lead,” instructs Maxwell. “There’s an old saying: To lead yourself, use your head; to lead others, use your heart. That’s the nature of the Law of Connection. Always touch a person’s heart before you ask him for a hand.”

The William K. Busch Brewing Co. is proving to be a bright, new chapter in the Busch family’s 150-year brewing history. Chief executive officer Billy Busch, the greatgrandson of AnheuserBusch founder Adolphus Busch, launched his brewery company shortly after InBev’s acquisition of Anheuser-Busch in 2008, introducing signature American lagers Kräftig Lager and Kräftig Light.

The Kräftig brands are brewed in accordance with Reinheitsgebot, the German purity law dating back to 1516, which mandates that beer can only contain water, malt, hops and yeast. “We’re one of the only products in our category using Reinheitsgebot,” says Marc Gottfried, the brewing company’s vice president of brewing. “The big difference is our competition uses anything from corn, corn syrup, rice, foam enhancers, preservatives or color.” These additives make the beer easier and less expensive to brew, but they also strip it of authenticity and flavor.

In contrast, Kräftig is made with only imported Hallertau hops, two- and six-row North American barley, a proprietary yeast and water from one of the purest sources in the country. “You get a more pure beer flavor [with Kräftig brands], and more of it, too,” says Gottfried, a 20-year brewing veteran who served as the head brewmaster at Morgan Street Brewery before joining the William K. Busch Brewing Co. “Where other beers are more carbonated water with beer character, we have a much more assertive beer character – it’s really clean and pleasant, but not cloying or overly bitter.”

Compared to other domestic beers, Kräftig Lager and Light give its drinkers a well-balanced lager with more hop aroma, malty notes and flavor. The brewery has found that their popularity has grown not only with mainstream beer drinkers but also with craft-beer aficionados. “That wasn’t our expectation,” Gottfried says. “We envisioned being a beer for people who typically enjoy domestic lagers, but we also have a growing number of customers who are devout craftbeer drinkers. I find that people who drink our beer are looking for more flavor – in their food, or

any consumable product – people are looking for vibrant, flavorful, unique stuff. We fit right in with that.” After five years on the market, the Kräftig brands have been dominant on a worldwide stage, winning 29 medals in national and international beer competitions. Kräftig Light is the reigning five-time gold medalist at the United States Open Beer Championship – an unprecedented record of back-to-back gold medals. Most recently, Kräftig Light made its debut at the International Beer Competition, a New York City-based contest judged by beer and beverage managers from high-end

Emma (Boles) Young and Dustin Young of Stover, Missouri met in High School, during Mrs. Halloran’s art class. Emma never thought she would marry the guy from high school, who drove her crazy every day! However, everything changed after high school, they started dating and fell in love! After a few years of dating Emma, Dustin knew she was the one for him! With the help of Dustin’s sister, Megan, he planned a proposal. They coordinated a time to take what Emma thought was family pictures for Christmas gifts. Little did she know, it was the day she would get engaged! Dustin got down on his knee and presented Emma with the most beautiful engagement ring she had ever seen. With family by her side, Emma said, YES! On September 10, 2016, the happy couple tied the knot in a family friend’s field decorated in a rustic chic style. This style incorporated the couple’s love of country simplicity with a touch of romance. Everyone in the wedding party wore boots, they had vintage trucks as a backdrop, and wooden doors for the bride’s grand entrance! There’s a lot of pressure when being the host of a party. You want to impress your guests and make sure everyone is happy. With so many details to plan, one thing that doesn’t have to be stressful is the booze! I’ve been the Private Events Director with Les Bourgeois for 7 years and there is definitely a pattern. When providing alcohol for an event, an average group will consume a drink per hour. Typically, it is evenly split between beer & wine. However, I always need to stress words like “average”, “patterns” and “typically” because everybody is different. Things that can sway you from the norm would be providing transportation, time of day, and the nature of the event. Most of my clients just provide beer/ wine. Cocktails are always well received but not necessary for a successful party (especially if you’re on a budget). For beer, something lighter, such as Bud Light, is generally the biggest crowd pleaser. For those that want a craft beer, a pale ale or wheat is the way to

go as the heavier varieties like IPAs, Porters, Stouts, etc. won’t have the widest appeal. With the wine, I always recommend a variety of 4-6 (2 sweet, 2 semi dry, and 2 dry with a red/white in each category). The most popular combination from Les Bourgeois’ selection would be: Riverboat Red (sweet red), Riverboat White (sweet white), Pink Fox (sweet but not too sweet blush), Vignoles (semi-sweet white), Solay (dry white), and Norton (full-bodied dry red). If you only wanted two options, Vignoles & Norton are the way to go. Let’s say you are hosting a wedding reception on a Saturday evening for 100 guests with the bar open from 6:3010:30 pm. You want to provide beer/wine but aren’t too sure what everybody likes. I would recommend the following: 1 case of Riverboat Red,1 case of Vignoles, 1 case of Solay, 1 case of Norton, a full keg of Bud Light & a pony keg of Broadway Brewery’s Organic Honey Wheat. There are about 50 glasses of wine in a case, 160 12oz servings in a full keg, and 80 12oz servings in a pony keg. If you are providing a shuttle

Party service and plan on “kicking it up” then I would add 1 case of Pink Fox and bump the pony keg up to a full. By following these simple guidelines you will be sure to throw the party of a lifetime! Just remember, don’t sweat the small stuff and have fun. After all, it is a celebration!

When you’re creating a fun and functional entertainment patio, you need great outdoor furniture that fits your style. After all the effort you put into building your outdoor patio, complimenting it with the right furniture gives you the perfect place to relax. To select the best outdoor furniture for your outdoor entertainment area, start with these helpful tips.

ONE

Consider the space’s function Start by considering how you want the outdoor area to function. Will it be a dining area, a living room style space or combination of both? Create a list of the activities you plan on doing in the space and use that to determine the kind of outdoor furniture you purchase.

TWO

Try out the furniture Before purchasing any outdoor furniture for your patio, try it out by sitting on it and moving it around, if possible. Some outdoor furniture looks pleasing to the eye but can be uncomfortable or too heavy to move easily.

THREE

Choose low maintenance To promote the idea of a fun and relaxing space, choose low maintenance exterior furniture that won’t keep you painting, sanding and cleaning for hours annually. Outdoor furniture designs made from rattan, teak or metal are durable and require minimal upkeep.

Consider storage needs To keep your outdoor furniture looking its best, you need a place to store it when you’re not using it. As durable as outdoor furniture can be, it still benefits and has a longer lifetime if you store it out of the

Fit the furniture to the space Overcrowding a patio with furniture is unattractive and can inhibit the flow of foot traffic. Place enough furniture in the space to provide comfort without overcrowding it. If you need additional space, consider extending your entertainment area into the lawn or garden.

Quality over quantity While it may cost less to buy several pieces of plastic chairs and tables for your patio, they’re not designed for durability or longevity. It’s better to invest in quality pieces that can withstand regular use and the elements without fading or suffering damage. Look for online reviews of the outdoor furniture you’re considering and ask your neighbors what has worked best for them.

Multipurpose furniture Even if your patio has ample space, it’s a good idea to invest in multipurpose outdoor furniture. Provide shade On hot days, the sun can become too warm to remain outside for very long on your patio. Purchase attractive patio umbrellas or partial enclosures that coordinate with your outdoor furniture and provide needed shade. By selecting the right outdoor furniture for your patio, you can create an area that everyone will enjoy during nice weather.

Serves 6-8 Salad 6 cups arugula ½ large watermelon, seeded and diced 1 medium cucumber, thinly sliced crosswise ½ red onion, thinly sliced 1 cup feta or goat cheese, crumbled Arrange ingredients on a platter and drizzle with dressing.

Citrus dressing ¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice ¼ cup freshly squeezed lime juice 1 small shallot, minced 2 tablespoons honey ½ cup olive oil 1 teaspoon salt Whisk all the ingredients in a bowl. Drizzle onto salad, serving any remaining dressing on the side.

Creamy Seafood & Mushroom Pasta Serves 4-6 1 lb penne pasta ¼ cup olive oil 3⁄₄ lb shrimp, peeled and deveined 10 ounces mushrooms 3 garlic cloves ¼ cup white wine 8 ounces lump crabmeat 3⁄₄ cup heavy cream or coconut milk 2 teaspoons lemon zest 1 tablespoon lemon juice 2 teaspoons rosemary 3 tablespoons unsalted butter Salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese to taste

Slice the mushrooms. Mince the garlic. Cook the pasta until al dente. Drain, reserving 1 cup of the cooking water. Set aside. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook until just pink, about 2 minutes. Transfer to a large bowl. Add the mushrooms to the oil in the pan. Sauté about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute longer. Add the wine and cook until about half is absorbed, stirring and scraping browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Return the shrimp to the skillet and add the crabmeat and cream. Simmer about 2 minutes until sauce thickens slightly. Add lemon zest and juice, rosemary, and salt and pepper. Stir in the butter until melted. Add the penne to the skillet and heat through, adding some of the reserved pasta water if needed to keep everything moist. Remove from heat. Serve immediately garnished with parmesan cheese.

Place the ice in a blender and pulse several times to begin breaking it up. Add the raspberries, club soda, lemonade concentrate, 1 tablespoon of the lemon juice, and the tequila and blend until thick and smooth, about 30 seconds. Pour the remaining 1 tablespoon lemon juice into a small saucer. In another saucer, pour a thin layer of salt (table salt is fine, kosher salt even better). Dip the rims of four margarita glasses in the lemon juice, and then in the salt. Pour the margarita mixture into the salted glasses and serve.

Wheatland, Missouri (April 4, 2017) - On the heels of the best season in Lucas Oil Speedway history, in which a record 107,000 fans came through the gates, there’s no resting on past laurels.

That mission launches on Saturday with the season opener for the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series. Gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7 and racing at 7:35.

“We had a tremendous season in 2016,” Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson said. “But now we’re on a mission to make 2017 even better.”

Before the first green flag flies in a few days, here are 12 things to know headed into the new Lucas Oil Speedway season:

1 - Silver Edition Show-Me 100: One of the nation’s

crown-jewel dirt Late Model events celebrates its 25th running over Memorial Day weekend, May 2527. If the 25th annual Show-Me 100 Presented by ProtecttheHarvest.com is anything like last year’s rendition, it’ll leave fans buzzing.

Jimmy Owens won a thriller - the Tennessee driver’s fourth Show-Me 100 triumph - after a late-race duel with Scott Bloomquist and young phenom Bobby Pierce had the crowd of nearly 7,000 on its feet. Local favorite Jesse Stovall wound up third in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series major. Complete programs with features are set for each night, helping set the field for the Show-Me 100 lineup on Saturday. Thursday’s feature is the “Cowboy Classic” Presented by Hot Rod Processing, named in honor of long-time MLRA owner/promoter Allen “Cowboy” Chancellor. Friday’s Late Model feature is the “Tribute to Don and Billie Gibson,” the former owners of West Plains Motor Speedway who started the Show-Me 100 in 1993. Only a few hundred three-day Show-Me 100 passes remain. - Off Road Rumbles: A new version of racing for this part of the country of debuts July 22-23 when the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series visits the new Off Road track. Associated with the West Coast, off road shortcourse racing will find six divisions - Pro 4, Pro 2, Pro Lite, Pro Buggy, Production 1000 UTV and Mod Karts - competing over the two days on the 6,000 foot track in the inaugural GEICO Off-Road Shootout Presented by General Tire. The new off road course also will play host to the AMA Pro-Am Motocross, Sept. 29-Oct. 1. Promoter Jay Reynolds said hundreds of riders will participate in pro and amateur divisions with UTV racing also is on the schedule. Camping spots will be at a premium that weekend, so get those reservations in now.

- On the water, too: Diversity is the name of the speed game at Lucas Oil Speedway with the third major course on the complex a liquid version. “Lake Lucas”

returns for two more weekends for the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Series - the 6th annual John Haas Memorial Drag Boat Classic June 9-11 and the 7th annual Diamond Drag Boat Nationals Sept. 1-3. Featured will be the Top Fuel Hydros, including “Nitrochondriac” in which Bryan Sanders piloted to a world-record 268.40 miles-per-hour last weekend in Chandler, Arizona.

4 - New name, same game: Big Adventure RV is the

new title sponsor for the Weekly Racing Series, a 13-race program that leads to track champions being crowned after the season championships on Aug. 26. Competing divisions will be the Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models, Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, Big O Tires Street Stocks and Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods.

5 - Cutshaw goes for four: Veteran Bolivar driver Jeff

Cutshaw in his familiar No. 98 has been nothing short of a dynasty in the USRA Modified division, winning the last three Lucas Oil Speedway championships. Cutshaw’s ultra consistency turned the points chase into a runaway last season as he posted three feature wins and five runner-up finishes, winding up 178 points ahead of Jason Pursley. Other reigning track champs are Derek Brown (Street Stocks), Aaron Marrant (ULMA Late Models) and J.C. Morton (USRA B-Mods).

- Midseason cash up for grabs: Weekly Racing Series drivers will have some extra incentive to be atop the points chase at the conclusion of the midseason championship program on June 24. Victory Lane “Track Action Review” which is distributed to fans free each week is donating $1,000 (with that figure matched by the speedway) to the midseason champs, meaning each will take home an extra $500.

7 - Stovall looks for MLRA repeat: Billings’ Jesse

Stovall begins defense of his Lucas Oil MLRA title at the 4th annual MLRA Spring Nationals Presented by | RacingJunk.com, April 14-15. - Street Stocks Spotlight: The Big Buck 50 Presented by Whitetail Trophy Hunt has quickly become one of the top Street Stocks races in the nation. Last year nearly 100 Street Stocks entered with more than 100 expected for the Oct. 6-7 event, held in conjunction with the MLRA Fall Nationals. Timothy Brown of Stoutland took home the $5,000 winner’s share last fall, along with a free entry into the prestigious Whitetail Trophy Hunt in central Missouri.

9 - Open-wheel action: Some of the nation’s premier

open-wheel stars return for the ASCS Bob Westphal Memorial Cup Sizzlin’ Speedweek Finale on June 17. The Lucas Oil ASCS Winged Sprints and Lucas Oil POWERi WAR Sprints will be in action. Another must-see for open-wheel fans is the 7th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial for the ASCS and WAR Sprints, Sept. 21-23. The ASCS feature winner on the final night will collect $10,000.
