Sorry, your kids probably didn’t go to school with him... unless they went to Brown, where Renaissance man Adam Shulman studied acting and design. (His family lived
in Westport when he was 18-28). Adam began designing jewelry for fiancé Anne Hathaway so that she could take personal pieces that are “metaphors for moments” when she travels. Partner, metalsmith Heidi Nahser Fink (prop designer from Alice in Wonderland) who “can do anything,” brings his poetic designs to life, mixing golds
with other metals. Their newest pieces, which organically integrate pavé diamonds, will be exclusively in our stores in time for Mother’s Day! (FYI... James Banks was the name of Adam’s grandfather, who also created jewelry for his beloved.)

WHEN TO DRY CLEAN YOUR SUIT... People are always asking us how often to dry clean a suit. The answer is “as little as possible!” Unfortunately, the chemicals and high temperatures used in the dry cleaning process can prematurely wear out the fabric. We recommend dry-cleaning a suit no more than once each season —
unless it’s badly stained or smells bad. If a stain is minor and can be gently rubbed out with a cloth and some mild soap and water, dry cleaning isn’t necessary. And if a suit is creased but not particularly soiled, you can bring it to the dry cleaner for “steaming only” or invest in a steamer at home to give it a fresh, crisp look. Dry cleaning your suits in moderation — no more than a few times per year — will keep it looking its best and lengthen the lifespan of your investment.

As a kid, we came in Sundays to clean the store. My job was picking pins out of the carpet, so they wouldn’t get stuck in the vacuum. There are two things he taught me I’ll never forget. One is “always make customers feel like guests in your home” and the other is “always buy blue, everyone looks good in blue.” And as you can see, look what I’m wearing today...
