Development With a focus on illustration throughout this brief, I have managed to create various different approaches to the artwork. Each having a different concept behind them, different softaware being utilised and also outcomes that reflect the designs created. Although the brief wanted one t-shirt design, I have managed to create a number that could be further developed into a range of products to aid the initial work.

Product The final product has been created quite literally, taking the word prosthetic and it’s interpretation into an object. With that taking a general aesthetic from the audience in context. A modern cyborgnetic prosthetic arm covered in tattoo’s seemed appropriate and an effective solution to solving the brief.

Development At first I had a focus on utilising the existing DIY culture throughout hard punk and it’s visual aesthetics to create, examples of possible vinyl artwork. Towards the end of the brief I had to change direction in order to meet deadlines and also create a time efficient visual consistency. Experimenting with this process has allowed me develop an understanding as to how I can create design work without the aid of a computer.

The product range has been developed to heavily focus on print processes, using 2 colours to reduce the overal cost of production. To further more develop a product range, I have taken the finalised artwork for the album cover and spread it across a wider range of potential products.

Concept The Brief Develop and re-brand the existing identity of Karen and Dave Linaker. As both of them have their own self-employed businesses, which they have built up over the years. Dave Linaker having over 25 years experine as a double glazing installer, and Karen Linaker having over 6 years experience as a Holistic Therapist. You will need to work on a one-to-one basis with the clients. Feedback is important with the design work you produce and building up a succesful project will need to have that relationship taken into account. In order to create successful design work, you have to understand that you are designing for someone else and not yourself. Exploration into appropriate experimentation can be utilised, as long as it works and its relevant. Linaker Branding

Development Although I am rebranding both Karen and Dave Linaker as self-employed businesses, I have had take a closer look at their existing pieces of promotional work and identity. Looking through what they had, it was clear to see that they did not have a sense of strong visual identity, lacking in an over all visual aesthetic. Taking the existing pieces, I have reworked them and focussed on creating design work that can be fully utilised across a range of products.

MFHT Holistic l Therapist h s

The context of holistic therapy uses a spiritual hands on service, focusing on the mind, body and spirit. Taking this into account I have created potential products and design work that reflect the requirements of Karen Linaker. The logo had to represent her not only visually, but formally. Stating exactly what it is she does. Furthermore developing this further, utilising a colour schem that adopts the overall feel of the clients needs.

Development Focussing directly on illustration to create the final outcome, I have experimented with different processes and types of media that can easily reflect my interpretation of a music track. As I am ultimately going to be reproducing the artwork myself. I have tried to use what I have available to create an initial design direction. Using tracing paper has helped me understand how I can create a layered visual, reflecting the inital visulisation of the brief.
