Andy Butler
Roxy CottonTail
The central figure of Hercules & Love affair, a band who reinvented classic house and disco sounds for the modern club scene, Andy Butler has been writing tunes and DJing since his teenage years. The band’s debut album was released on James Murphy’s extremely cool DFA label, while their new album, ‘Blue Lines’, came out on Moshi Moshi and was our Feburary album of the month. Incorporating elements of ambient electronica, sleazy disco and beautiful songwriting, it’s proof that dance music can be emotive too.
Roxy Cottontail is one of the most notorious ‘bunnies’ of the NYC club scene. She hops from DJing alonside Afrika Bambaataa to presenting her radio show with DJ Melo X. She bounces from throwing parties with Slick Rick to providing vocals for Armand Van Helden. And over the last decade she’s helped bring together the fashion world and the club scene thanks to her tireless will to party and the relentless energy she brings. www.roxycottontail.com
