Radio & TV Broadcasting • Effective use meets range of ICT applications beyond regular news and entertainment • These include community radio stations that broadcast information about food security and health, and the use of satellite broadcasting for distance education. • Most such facilities are privately owned but a few are owned by local district councils, universities, churches or communities (Kapange 2002) • Traditional media such as radio have remained popular and are useful for dissemination owing to their wide coverage, affordability, and appropriateness.
