BODIES IN MOTION: MOVEMENT | SPACE | QUALITY The jellyfish has very little control over movement but using its stalk-like structure can navigate through contraction of the bell-like body. The movement is derived from its tentacles. Spatial conditions are derived from modular systems of tentacles of the subject with respect to its surrounded space with carefully exploring how it compresses and contracts. Instructor: Kari Anderson

Comprehensive drawing exploring the movement

The model presents the movement of the jellyfish. The movement is focused on the compression and contraction of the animal while it’s rotating.

Movement duration is divided into 20 separate modules. Each module is assigned color-coordinated tentacle to follow.
