ALFS / Public Meeting #2 Boards INTRODUCTION

Vision Alpha Link explores a potential 1.75-mile connection between the Alpha Loop and the Big Creek Greenway in Alpharetta. Today, the Alpha Loop is taking shape in the heart of Alpharetta, and the Big Creek Greenway is expanding its trail network throughout Fulton and Forsyth Counties. The Alpha Link will provide a critical bicycle and pedestrian connection between these trail assets. It will also offer direct access to the North Point Area, a future GA-400 transit station, and other destinations and neighborhoods along the Alpha Loop and Big Creek Greenway. The overall goal for the Alpha Link is to help Alpharetta become a more vibrant, equitable, livable community.

Vision Alpha Link is a nine-month-long planning project that is divided into four major tasks. Task 1: Learn The planning team will develop a thorough & nuanced understanding of the local environment, place & people.

Task 2: Involve The planning team will involve local residents, businesses, property owners, key stakeholders and trail users in the planning process. We are Here!

Task 3: Explore The planning team will develop a set of conceptual alignment and design recommendations.

Task 4: Synthesize The planning team will distill the body of knowledge generated through the planning process into a final report and supporting exhibits.

Q15: I love the Alpha Loop & Big Creek Greenway because...

The scenery is beautiful and peaceful, the sidewalks are smooth enough to skate on (I’ve been learning to Rollerblade since nothing else is open), and it’s long enough to go for a long walk/ride without having to loop multiple times.

The Vision Survey was open between 04/22/2020 & 05/25/2020. During that period it received 180 responses.

Safe green space for riding, running, walking. I enjoy being able to observe nature up close and like how wide the trail is to allow for many types of pedestrians.

It’s convenient, encourages healthy activity and community and it’s beautiful.

I am able to get away from the excitement of downtown alpharetta for a nice walk before going back to enjoy the city atmosphere.
