Freddie Scott, son of the late Leroy Sr and Rosa Scott, was born August 9, 1949 in Hampton County, South Carolina. On Wednesday, May 9th, 2018 in Savannah, GA he received his wings. Freddie received his education in the public schools of Jasper County. In 1970, he was drafted into the United States Army and served for 6 years oversea in Korea before he was honorably discharged. This only began his journey. Freddie's keen mind and adaptability enabled him to work proficiently across several trades, which he used. One of his biggest contribution to the community is the Robertsville Pineland Fire Department, which he initiated upon his return from the army. For many years, Freddie served as Fire Assistant Chief, which re quired him to be on duty 24/7 with a radio and keys. Freddie was avid hunter and yes, fisherman (his joy). He especially liked catching bass. He loved word search puzzles. But more importantly, he had a deep love for his family and his family had a deep love for him. Freddie sought the Lord and He heard his cry. He stayed before the Lord in prayer constantly and was not afraid to die for his peace had been made with God. Freddie was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Rosa Scott, a brother Willie James (Dean) Scott, a daughter Fredricka Scott, and a granddaughter Patience Lorraine Precious Murdaugh. He will be missed and his memories cherished by his wife, Catherine Scott; his three daughters Earnestine Ling, Shanequi (Maurice) Murdaugh, and Mary Scott; three sisters Mary (James) Dargan, Evelyn (Sidney) Patterson, and Betty Outler, two brothers Leroy Scott Jr. and Marvin (Elaine) Scott; 7 sisters in law and I brother in law; one great aunt Anna White; two uncles, Isaiah Barnes and Sam Housey; six grandchildren, five great-grand children; a very special friend Nathaniel (Nate) Miller; a host of caring nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

The family of the late Freddie Lee Scott would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude for the many acts of kindness during their time of bereavement. May God bless you all for your concern.

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun; Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
