Remembering Anna”

Anna Valentine was born on June 11, 1928, to the union of John and Mary Christopher in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. She moved to Montclair, New Jersey with her family at a young age.

Anna graduated from Montclair High School and continued her education at Rutgers University.

On May 28,1948, Anna was united in marriage to the love of her life, Reginald Valentine, who preceded her in death on April 28, 2001. Through this union, they were blessed with two children, Christopher A. Valentine Sr., and Kevin R. Valentine.

We wish to express our deep gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful staff at Job Haines who provided exceptional care and support to Anna during her final days. The compassion shown by the nurses and staff was truly remarkable and made a significant difference to Anna’s comfort and quality of life.

We will never forget your graciousness.

In Appreciation

The family acknowledges with sincere appreciation the many kind deeds and comforting expressions of sympathy extended to them in their time of sorrow.

Anna was employed by the United States Navy as a purchasing supervisor and later partnered with her husband as owner of Home Rug Cleaners, Orange NJ.

Anna enjoyed vacationing in Sag Harbor with her family and friends. She had a love for playing cards, barbequing, weekend garage sales, and reading the newspaper.

Anna was a phenomenal woman with a rich spirit, heart of gold and an undying love for her family.

Anna Valentine peacefully departed this life on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Anna will be deeply missed by many.

In addition to her husband, Anna was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Valentine Sr. and dear sisters, Grace Jones and Ida Coppedge.

She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory: her son, Kevin Valentine; five grandchildren, Selena Valentine, Veronica Valentine Frazier (Antwan), Christopher Valentine Jr., Scott Valentine (Ivis), and Nina Valentine (Urim); ten great grandchildren, Keiera, Jordan, Chalai, Khari, Lindsey, Matthew, Shawn-Kayvia, Maximus, Nino, Arelys, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
