The ensemble is under the direction of Carl Reiter. Carl Reiter Carl Reiter is the Executive Director of the Scottsdale Philharmonic. A dedicated music educator of more than thirty years, he has taught at Grand Canyon University, Phoenix College, and K-12 public schools. As part of the Scottsdale Philharmonic’s outreach program, Carl is organizing a youth orchestra. Deborah Bigeleisen Florida | Oil Paintings
Deborah grew up in Los Angeles, graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, and enjoyed working in fashion and textiles before becoming a full-time artist. After a very successful career as founder and CEO of a global textile company, she moved to Florida where her other artistic talent was unleashed. Deborah was mentored by acclaimed technical master Sam Perry and guided by renowned visionary Gordon Parks. She also completed rigorous training through Master Artist Workshops. These included several classes led by internationally acclaimed Canadian painter Tom Hopkins. Flowers and nature have been the inspiration for Deborah’s artistic expression since childhood, and are the common thread that weaves through both careers. She continues to be captivated by natural forms, having begun her art career by painting Rembrandt-like portraits of illuminated white roses. She credits her discovery of fractals for totally transforming her vision. By stripping away the mask of the exterior form and magnifying her image beyond what is recognizable to the naked eye, her subject is no longer simply a flower.

M|L INSIDER Shelby Keefe Wisconsin | Oil Paintings Shelby Keefe is a contemporary impressionistic painter, teacher and performance artist. Born in Whitewater, WI in 1958, she graduated in 1981 with a BFA from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI. After retiring from a career in graphic design in 2005, she opened her own art studio and exhibition space in Bay View, on the south side of Milwaukee. Her award-winning urban landscape paintings appeal to the town and country mouse alike. They have earned her participation in prestigious national juried shows, plein air painting competitions, and arts festivals and have garnered commission work for a variety of corporate clients and private collectors. Her oil paintings are found in collections of The Bradley Foundation, Acuity, Northwestern Mutual, Ozaukee Country Club, WE Energies, University School of Milwaukee, and other businesses and private collections in Wisconsin and around the country. Artist Statement "I am influenced by Impressionism and the brighter 'colorist' palette and generally specialize in urban architectural subjects. I use my own photographs as reference as well as painting 'en plein air.' My creative intentions are to put the viewer in the scene, transforming their mood through color and composition. I'm attracted to scenes where the subjects are dramatically lit, which adds a vibrancy and a sense of immediacy to my paintings. I bring my passion for drawing into my work; applying the oils freely and liberally over vibrantly toned underpaintings. These are tips for cleaning glass art from Bernard Katz’s Tips fo artist Bernard Katz to help prevent damage while cleaning hand-blown glass art. DO NOT use the dishwasher!
Generally, hand-blown art glass is sensitive to extreme temperature changes, which is how dishwashers work. Very expensive glass sculptures in a dishwasher can crack the glass. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners and products!
Don’t use abrasive chemical cleansers or steel wool cleaning pads. Even though glass is considered a durable material, the surface is much ‘softer’ than a person might assume. Rubbing glass against coarse dirt and debris is probably the most common cause for scratches. DO NOT wear jewelry!
Most people know diamonds can scratch glass – so can rings, wedding bands, watches, and bracelets. Katz rates jewelry in his top ten causes for art glass damage. Dusting
Most of the time just a simple dusting with a feather duster is all that’s needed. The

Tip - Using a soft, dry paint brush is a great way to dust hard to reach hard-to-reach areas while cleaning glass artwork.

or Cleaning Glass Art Removing Fingerprints Spraying glass cleaner onto a paper towel or soft clean cloth is the easiest and best way to clean off greasy fingerprints. Cleaning sandblasted and frosted glass
Katz’s glass sculptures have a protective coating on the sandblasted surfaces that helps keep fingerprint oils from penetrating into the frosted surface. This coating makes cleaning very easy with glass cleaner and paper towels. Soap and water method
Tip – Place a foam pad in the bottom of the sink in case the glass slips while cleaning. Foam kneeling pads used for gardening work great.
Not all glass will have a protective coating. The best method Katz has found is simpy using everyday dish detergent and lukewarm water. After washing glass, wipe it dry to avoid water stains, which can be difficult to remove. These tips do not cover everything! Artists use many techniques, some of which require special care. So, when in doubt about how to clean your glass artwork, contact your art consultant or the artist for the best cleaning methods.
