Refund Policy
The Albert Lea Family Y reserves the right to cancel programs due to low enrollment. Full refunds are given when this occurs. Persons withdrawing registrations must give 72 hours notice before the program starts to receive a full refund. No refunds are made after the 72-hours prior to the start of an activity unless due to medical or unavoidable circumstances.

Adult Racquetball League
$250 Each team up to 15 players minimum of 8 players Begins September 18th
Sign up for the A, B, or C League. Registration opens in November. League play will begin December 2. The length of league play depends on the number of participants (typically 12-15 weeks). Players’ scores throughout the season will be used to determine end-of-season tournament play. Member: $8 Non-Member: $25

Adult Pick-Up Pickleball
Pickleball equipment is available at the front desk for checkout. Courts are marked with green lines in the gym. Common times of play are Mondays and Thursdays at 12:00-1:00pm.

Volleyball nets will be set up upon request with advanced notice.

Courts can be reserved up to 24 hours in advance. Nonmembers must pay the daily admission fee to play.
SENIOR FITNESS SilverSneakers® Fitness Program
SilverSneakers is the nation’s leading older adult fitness program aiming to improve strength, endurance, flexibility, agility, and coordination. SilverSneakers memberships to the Family Y are provided with Humana, Ucare. Contact your insurance provider to see if you are eligible for a Y membership. For more information, contact the front desk. SilverSneakers classes are also offered. Classes are free for members or $5 per class time for non-members.
Silver & Fit Fitness Program
The YMCA is a full participating Silver & Fit fitness center. This means that we partner with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medica, and HealthPartners insurance plans. Contact your insurance provider to see if you are eligible for a Y membership. For more information, contact the front desk.

Youth & Family Playroom Service
The Y’s School’s Out Program
The playroom child care service is for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years while their parents are at the Y. Monday—Friday: 8:30am-11:00am Monday—Friday: 5:00pm-7:30pm Saturday: 8:45am-12:00pm
Looking for a safe, fun place for your children to go after school? Why not try the Y’s School’s Out program? This program is for children grades K-5 and is run by the Y in cooperation with District 241. The program starts when school is over and ends at 6:00pm. Kids will be bussed to the Y from their school. Activities include games, group activities, snack time, crafts, study time and occasional field trips.
Payment for playroom services is by playroom cards only. Cards can be purchased at the front desk and come in increments of $12 or $24.

Family Time
Every Sunday from 2:00-4:00pm during the 2016-2017 school year bring the entire family to enjoy the Y. Come and use the gym, racquetball courts, and swimming pool until 3:15pm. Members: Free Non-Members: $8/family, Sundays only

Parent & Toddler Stay-4-Play
Parent & Toddler Stay-4-Play is an opportunity for toddlers and pre-schoolers to be active with their parent(s) through games and activities in the gym. This is a parent run class, so come and enjoy some time away from home with your children. Toy cars, balls, nets, a parachute, and other equipment will be available for the children to play with. You may also bring your ride-on toys to use in the gym. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30am-11:45am. Children 0-2 years are free. Members: Free Non-Members: $2 per child, max $5 per family
Kids Day Off
Throughout the school year there are several days with no school for the kids. On those week days, the place for K-5 elementary school youth is at the Y! We offer games, crafts, group activities, swimming and lots of fun. Children can arrive as early as 7:00am and must be picked up by 6:00pm. The Y staff lead all activities. Parents need to bring a sack lunch, two snacks, swim suit and towel for their children. Members: Full Day - $29 / Half Day - $20 Non-Members: Full Day $39 / Half Day $26 $2.00 Off Second Child

Birthday Parties
Friday, Saturday & Sunday only. Have your child’s next birthday party at the Y! Our birthday parties are an hour and half long with your choice of the gym or swimming. You will also have access to our party room to finish up the party.
Attention Parents: The fees listed are the pre-registration fees. You’re still allowed to register the day of, but there will be an extra $5.00 charge per child. Pre-registration ensures we have the appropriate amount of staff and materials for projects.

Youth Fitness 3:30 Fit Club
Middle School Orientations
The 3:30 Fit Club is for 6th grade students that want to have fun and be active after school. Participating in this program will help students burn off extra energy, experience different avenues of fitness, and learn about living a healthy lifestyle. After completing a session of the 3:30 Fit Club, students receive a free membership to the Y for one year! For more information contact the Y. Ask about transportation from Southwest Middle School to the Y after school.
Orientations are for 12, 13, and 14 year olds who would like access to the SMB and free weight rooms. Staff will provide the knowledge needed to use the facility independently and responsibly. The orientation will highlight the correct use of equipment, proper lifting techniques, strength training principles, safety rules, and proper etiquette. A personalized fitness plan will be given to the student upon completion of the orientation. Pre-registration is required. Payment in full is due at registration.

Silver & Fit
27 exercises done in groups of three with 18 seconds of work and 9 seconds of rest.
The class is designed to increase the participant’s flexibility, joint stability, dynamic balance, coordination, agility, reaction-time, muscular strength, power and cardiovascular endurance.
Athletic Kills and Drills
SilverSneakers Classic
This early morning class combines functional strength training exercises with athletic style endurance drills. This tough, yet fun, class meets in the gym and will push you to new limits.
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and ease of daily living. Dumbbells, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
Barre Blend
Barre Blend brings exercises from group fitness into the mind/body experience by fusing exercises from ballet, cardio training, Pilates, and yoga into one class to challenge and tone the entire body. This blended genre combines the methodology of strength and control to create a class that improves body awareness, flexibility and stabilization.

Exercise the way your body was designed to move (as one unit) and become more athletic, regardless of where you begin. Enjoy a variety of exciting methods.
An all levels “Cardio” yoga that focuses on breath with movement. Strength and flexibility, focus, and deep stretching for the healthy body, mind and spirit.
Each circuit consists of 45 seconds of work, followed by 9 seconds of rest; repeated 3 times. Medium to low impact.
This is a high energy cardio class that utilizes Latin music and dance to energize and strengthen your entire body.
Alternate segments of cardio and strength training exercises and you’ve got one great workout! Get in as many reps as you can (or care to) in each time segment and modify each exercise to your liking; this is why all levels are welcome! No dance-like choreography, just exercise.
Splash your way into shape with an invigorating low-impact aquatic exercise. Known as the Zumba “pool party,” the Aqua Zumba program gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Integrating the Zumba philosophy with traditional aquatic fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.
Gentle Yoga
Enjoy this all-level cardio flow-style class. Sun salutations form the foundation, core, strengthening, and energy of the class. Class includes balance poses to center the mind and improve focus; bends that relieve stress, depression and soothe back pain; twists to realign the spine and stimulate the internal organs: and stressreducing meditation. No yoga experience necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat. All standing poses are done with bare feet for your safety.
Swimnastics
Enjoy a refreshing workout as you tone and strengthen muscles and increase flexibility. This shallow water class enables you to exercise with less strain and impact on joints.
Rusty Hinges
This water exercise class is for any age male or female that experiences mobility issues such as arthritis, MS, or injuries. The low impact movements and range of motion exercises will keep your body healthy and your joints moving.
HIIT Bootcamp
Take your workout to the next level with High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). This class will build muscular strength and improve cardiovascular fitness through various exercises performed at specific intervals. You’ll never get bored with a mash-up of calisthenics, free weights, plyometrics, and an assortment of equipment for a variety of exercises in each session.
Joints in Motion 2
This class is the advanced more intense version of the Joints in Motion class. Class includes range of movement exercises, low and high impact movements, intensity intervals, and strength training. Keep your body moving and healthy!
Lean Body Training
Deep Water Workout
Non-stop, total body strength training with some HIIT cardio intervals thrown into the mix. This class will help you get that strong, lean, healthier, and more powerful body you’re working for.
Because this class is done in the deep water, zero impact is experienced by the joints. Intermediate and advanced levels. No swimming experience is needed, a float belt may be worn.

Indoor Cycling
This class combines kickboxing, step, high intensity intervals & traditional high impact for a total cardio blast. Some choreography included.

High Intensity Fitness Competition
45 minute INTENSE total body fun workout Workouts are led by a Certified Personal Trainer who will teach & motivate you to perform each exercise at your maximum effort. The CPT will also keep your stats for you so you can track your improvement. This is for individuals looking for personal training in a high intensity competitive environment. This class features exercises that are challenging but possible to complete by people with varying athletic abilities. You will know what your workout is ahead of time (Online!) Whether you’re new to working out, new to our facility or a long time fitness pro, a Y staff member can walk you through the proper way to use the equipment in our SMB room (where all the cardio and weight machines are located). Parents/guardians are in the water with the child. This is an instructor led class intended to help young children become comfortable and safe in and around water. Red Cross Lifeguarding
For ages 15 and older. Red Cross Lifeguarding is a national certificate that is recognized by many organizations. Those who successfully complete this course will receive certification in life guarding, first aid and CPR/AED for the professional rescuer. Prerequisites include a minimum age of 15 and strong swimming ability. For more information, contact David Cheeks.

Pool Classification
Lap Swim: Open to all ages for the purpose of swimming laps. Open/Lap: Two Lane max. will be set up for lap swimming. Open Swim: All ages open to free swim. Children under age 8 must have a responsible person in pool with them. No lap lanes will be in pool for open swim. Pool closed on dates when there is a swim meet.
