Around us, in the Universe we exist in, there are two and only two universal entities - Nature and Technology. It is nobody's argument that technology is the foundation for the spawning of all civilizations, and will continue to be so.
SISPONYS
We have reached a stage of technological progress, which is providing us with sufficient evidence (early enough?) of our imperative to balance our existence with respect to both. But, to what extent are our lives balanced? Given the observable state of some of the macro indicators and features of development pertaining to our existence, such as increased life expectancy, sharp population boom, rapid urbanization, steady increase of energy supply per capita, slow growth of hospital beds and medical specialists per capita, questionable water availability per capita, massive growth of internet population, hyper exponential data and information proliferation including moment-tomoment communication exchanges among billions of us, changes in the number and nature of crimes, disturbing levels of greenhouse gases, air, water and land pollution, and biodiversity loss, the eager(?) lunge towards carbon neutrality,
the
unsatiable
levels
of
individual
and
social
desire
for
comfort
and
convenience,
the
frightening
capability to destroy our planet 'n' times over with weapon systems, and several others, a question of balance stares us in the face. So, is technology a boon, bane or bewilderment that we have to respectively benefit from, contend with or resolve in our struggles to realize the so-far-elusive balance?
