Mr. Gopal Subramanyam is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Madras and belongs to the batch of 1976. He has more than four decades of association with the manufacturing sector. His experience ranges from handling businesses of high precision products like press tools, moulds & dies to camera manufacturing to heavy engineering such as earthmoving, & construction equipment, industrial machinery products, to name a few. He has held positions of CEO and Board of Director roles in Joint Venture, Private and Public Listed companies of high repute & excellence in corporate governance practices. During his long tenure at Larsen & Toubro Ltd., he donned various roles in Operation Mgt., Business Planning & Development,

Technology transfers and formation of Joint Venture companies. He is a former Chief Executive of 2 Joint Venture Companies of L&T , namely L&T Komatsu Ltd. and L&T Howden Ltd.
He is currently the Chairman of the Board of SKF India Ltd. and also NSDC’s Nominee Director on the Governing Council of 3 Sector Skill Councils. He is also a past Non Exec Director on the Boards of L&T Kobelco Pvt. Ltd, Lincoln Helios Ltd. (a subsidiary

With rich experience of over 20 years in the Glass Industry, Unnikrishnan now is the Managing Director of Saint-Gobain India Pvt Ltd (Glass Business).
Apart from his professional role at Saint-Gobain, he is a thought leader across various fora in the areas of Sustainability and Regulations drafting key policy structure frameworks for the Indian Construction Industry. He is the Chairman of Glazing Society of India, Chairman CII TN CEO Forum, Chairing CII SR Task Force on Future of Manufacturing.

Personal Details: Family: Wife, Kyoko is leading my family in Japan. She is U.S.CPA and working for Hitachi, Japan now. Daughter, Kana is pupil in elementary school, her hobby is dancing (Hip Hop and K-pop), she will dance at the stage of Disney land, Tokyo, next year. Pet, Suzume (it means a sparrow in Japanese.), female, Toy poodle, as her name, very tiny dog but our star. All of them are looking forward to living in India next year.
Hobbies: Climbing mountain, hiking Swimming, jogging, cycling on my holiday Reading books of history, World situation, management and so on. Traveling India and try Indian foods (new hobby just started) Learning English (for myjob, but now it becomes my hobby)
A mechanical Engineer from Coimbatore Institute of Technology. Graduated in 1984 and furthered the qualification with Diploma in Materials Management and a MBA in General Management. Over 35 years of Corporate experience, including 30 years in L&T. Previously Chief Executive of L&T- Kobelco Machinery Private Limited. Currently Managing Director of Kobelco Industrial Machinery India Private Limited, a 100% Subsidiary of Japanese Conglomerate Kobe Steel, Ltd., Japan.

was later responsible for the creation of a Greenfield Shipyard & Port at Kattupalli near Chennai and retired as Vice President (Special Projects) in April 2011. He was then a Consultant to L&T until March, 2013.

He was the Chairman of Indian Institute of Materials Management, Chennai Branch, during 1984-85. He was awarded the Distinguished Membership of the Institute during the year 2001.
He was a Guest Faculty at Indian Institute of Materials Management, Madras Management Association and Indira Gandhi National Open University in various subjects like Materials Management, Operations Research, Industrial Relations, etc., for almost 15 years. He has taught Business Ethics to the MBA students of Madras University in Logistics & Supply Chain Management.
He was associated with the Rotary Club of Madras Porur as Charter Secretary and was President of the Club during 1996-97.
