Background The Annual MMA Women Managers' Convention is a celebration of the spirit of women and the many diverse roles women play. Every year, the theme of the convention has revolved around the evolving role and needs of today's women. The event creates a platform for women across different walks of life to come together, share their thoughts, opinions, insights and experiences. What binds these women is the urge to excel in their respective fields, be it as business leaders, entrepreneurs, thinkers, artists or policymakers. The focus of the convention is to inspire and guide women to grow in every area of their life. As a prelude to Women Managers' Convention, a competition is conducted every year where women managers are invited to present papers on the theme of the Convention. The papers and presentations are judged by a panel of eminent jury and the winner is awarded the “Outstanding Woman Manager of the Year 2021” at the Women Managers' Convention.

Overview of the theme - The New Woman of Today We often have a hard time talking about adversity. But the pandemic has changed life for everyone. Work from home (WFH), which existed in pockets, is now the norm. Everything has turned digital. Children are schooling online, which was earlier unimaginable. What has changed for women with Covid-19? Lean In statistics from the US tell us that one in four women are considering downshifting their careers or leaving the workforce due to Covid-19. It's a belief that the world would be better if more countries and companies were run by women. And 2020 proved this right: women leaders consistently stood out for their empathetic and effective response to Covid-19. Across the world from New Zealand, Taiwan, Germany, and Finland, there have been success stories. The winds of change seem to be blowing at all levels. Companies today are taking important steps to support employees during Covid-19. With work from home options, the digital economy and entrepreneurship coming to the fore, will the future post-Covid-19 present women with more opportunities?

Some hints to participants t Has Covid impacted women differently from men? t As women take on heavier burdens at home, do they worry that they'll be judged more harshly at work? t Is women's mental health a new challenge? t What makes women perform better under stress? t More and more women leaders are emerging on the political scene and in the corporate echelons. What

has changed? t Is the hushed argument about the clash between the biological clock and the career clock still relevant? t Are women leaders often held to higher performance standards? t Is the digital woman different from the woman of the past?

Expectations from participants t Present viewpoints relevant to the theme t Participate with a competitive spirit t Learn from others' points of view t Demonstrate talent, knowledge and experience acquired over the years t Establish creativity and professional excellence in the presentation
