a. Task: i. Using your iPad or iPhone, take 6-10 pictures that tell the story of your time at lunch. ii. Choose one of the following apps to create a digital story with your photos. 1. Haiku Deck 2. Tellagami 3. Pic Collage or Strip Designer 4. Educreations iii. You may use narration, text, music, or anything else that the app you choose will allow. iv. Share your story via email with the instructor or with your friends and/or colleagues. 4) ACTIVITY #2 – ONCE UPON A THUMB… •

CCRS RL 4.2 Determine central themes of a text and analyze their development; summarize the key supporting details and ideas

Objectives: The students will recreate a fairy tale that demonstrates the central theme of the tale. The students will include in their tale important details and ideas.

Curriculum Framing Questions • Essential Question: Is everything we read real? • Unit Questions: How do you know if a story is real or not? How do we know what a story is about? • Content Questions: What is your story about? What are some important events that happened in your story? •

Get in groups of 4-5 and choose one fairy tale to recreate. You may want to storyboard using Popplet Lite, on paper, or another app of your choosing. Use an iPad take pictures of your thumbs in different poses to illustrate your fairy tale. Use one or more of the apps A-F in section 1 to illustrate your story. Use the app Videolicious or 30 Hands to recreate your story. Share your digital story with the instructor and each member of your group.

Each group will have the opportunity to play their digital story for the class.
