LORIKEETS BUILD MOMENTUM CROSS COUNTRY REPS

Mount Morgan’s Rugby Union team, the Lorikeets are starting to build momentum in the 2023 Reserve Grade season.

In their third game of the season, Mount Morgan almost claimed victory, but in the end had to settle for a 26-all draw against Capricorn Coast on Saturday, 13 May at Newman Oval.

Despite leading into the break and running in a couple of quick tries early in the second half, they were soon put on the defensive in the last 20 minutes of the game with Capricorn Coast exerting some extra energy after a player was sent off for 10 minutes.

The four tries for Mount Morgan were John Anderson-Ross, Connor Stewart, William Hayden and Josh McDougall, while conversions were made by John Anderson-Ross, Connor Stewart and Tyler Toby.

This was the Lorikeets’ third game of the season with Mount Morgan playing Drovers at Frenchville (defeated 7 - 38), while the second game was against Frenchville at Mount Morgan (defeated 22-38).

The next game will be on Saturday, 20 May at Newman Oval.
