Sugar City Pioneers are Sweet on Mount Morgan
The Sugar City Pioneers, the Mackay branch of the Australian Caravan Club, will hold a five day muster in Mount Morgan from Friday,9 June to Wednesday, 14 June 2023, with some 21 caravans/motor homes booked in at the Silver Wattle Caravan Park with Dave and Debi.
The muster organisers, Frank and Leonie Casey had suggested to the branch to conduct the muster in Mount Morgan prior to the start of Covid.

Covid put this on hold like many other activities across the nation. Plans are well and truly under way for activities during the muster with a focus on enticing members to walk in and support the local businesses.
“Mount Morgan is steeped in history and character along with the fact that residents, businesses, and volunteers are so friendly and helpful. That is why Leonie and I picked the town for a muster,” Frank said.
The Australian Caravan Club is a club for all Recreational Vehicle owners and users and was formed in 2006. The ACC currently has 45 branches across Australia that create a great social environment for their members and have regular musters (social events or trips held in various locations).
The Australian Caravan Club has a number of special interest groups within the club such as, Lone Trekkers (for solo travellers), F.T.T (full time travellers), Armed Forces personnel, Evernew owners group, Jeep owners. These special interest groups are in addition to the branches.
Frank and Leonie recently spent six days in Mount Morgan to plan for the June muster and attended the 2023 Golden Mount Festival.
“It was a great festival and credit should be given to all those involved in creating a wonderful festival and procession,” Leonie and Frank said.
“Debi and Dave’s hospitality and assistance/guidance during the week was greatly appreciated,” Leonie and Frank said.
“You won’t miss members of the club as they should be wearing their green and gold shirts or ACC name tags.”
All 40 members attending have expressed excitement for this muster and are looking forward to the hospitality of Mount Morgan,” Frank said.
