native of Texas, Holly Hunt graduated from Texas Tech and entered an executive training program at Foley’s, a Federated Department store in Houston. She claims to have gotten her ‘business degree’ working at Foleys and following the path to become a buyer. Holly, more interested in becoming a designer, moved to New York in the early 1970s, as a designer and assistant to the President of a costume jewelry firm. Marriage, and three sons later, she opened her first eponymous showroom in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart.
HOLLY HUNT soon became the premiere design entity for luxe furnishings in the US. Over the following years she opened showrooms coast to coast, while building and designing her own collections of home furnishings for interior designers and the HOLLY HUNT brand was formed. As an arbiter of refined taste, her eye for what is now and what is next has led to her success. Holly has long been credited with raising the bar in interior design showrooms. HOLLY HUNT was

Her work has received numerous industry awards such as the Timeless Design Award from The Royal Oak Foundation, the Innovation Award from New York C&G and the prestigious IIDA Leadership Award for

She currently resides in Chicago serving on the Board of Directors of the School of the Art Institute and the National Council of the Aspen Art Museum.

After establishing the building blocks, Jillian began working for a design build firm, where she learned the painstakingly difficult task of construction management. With a focus in kitchen and bath design, she was inspired by the psychology of humans interacting with their home environment to explore interiors that were first functional but beautiful. She developed an acute sensitivity for reading clients’ needs and is able to ease the difficult home building/renovation process by really getting to know a client, diagnosing their problems and making accurate suggestions to lessen the strain of decision making.
Jillian Richey Design promises to help clients discover their own dream environment, because everyday you should be able to wake up in a place you love.
