~Obituary of Gladstone Foderingham ~ Gladstone M. Foderingham, was born on February 16, 1938, to Eldora and Samuel Foderingham in Colon, Republic of Panama. He was one of 9 siblings…Oscar (Trickie), Elena, Ruby (deceased), Thelma (deceased), Samuel (deceased), Gloria, Albert (Berti) & Frederic aka Papito-deceased). Raised in a strict home, Gladstone & siblings grew up attending Church and Sunday School & their dad would have evening service which was followed by time at the beach. Doing well in school was a requirement for all the Foderingham children, especially if they wanted to get their 25¢ allowance. He graduated from High School while in Cativa. When dinner was served, (which was rationed) they would play tricks on each other saying, "what's that over there?" once you looked, they would steal the meat off your plate & they all got a kick out of that! Gladstone migrated to the U.S. later entering the U.S. Army in June of 1962 with an honorable discharged in June of 1964. He returned to Panama, married his childhood sweetheart, Victoria (Vicky) on 2/19/1966. They returned to New York where they were happily married for 22 years, until cancer took her life on 1/11/1988. Gladstone worked as a butcher in several supermarkets until he retired from Pathmark Supermarket in 2009. We could depend on him to donate a Turkey, Roast beef, Ham etc. every year for Thanksgiving Dinner at the home of his sister Elena. He was big on family activities and enjoyed his 4th of July visits with their sister, Gloria in Maryland. He would celebrate his birthday by going to dinner with Elena, Trickie & his niece Emilia (Millie) would sometimes tag along. He loved eating at fancy restaurants and any opportunity to get dressed up. Even at casual affairs, you could find him in a dress shirt, slacks, blazer & most definitely “fancy boots". He loved to fix cars & was self-taught. He would go by his brother Oscar (Trickie) on a Saturday and leave late on Sunday evening working on his Lincoln Continental. He enjoyed visits from Trickie, his niece Nilsa (Lisa), nephews Federico (Panama Tony) & Jeffrey (Jeff). He loved to party & when the party was over, he was never in a hurry to leave. Be prepared to be up late when he came to visit. He leaves when he is ready. He would say, "I'm alright" then fall asleep right where he sat. On the other hand, if you were riding with him, and he was ready to go, move quickly or he could leave you behind & not think twice. Jeff & his wife Adrienne recently took Gladstone to get his vaccine and he was in good health and good spirits. Panama Tony & his wife Leida took him in when he became ill and cared for him as if he was their own father. Gladstone occasionally visits Tabernacle of Praise to worship with the family, at the invite of his sister, Elena.

Gladstone, loved by all with his quiet yet funny 'sarcastic' demeanor, sadly suffered a stroke due to blood clots in his head. He remained somewhat alert and responsive while at Maimonides Hospital until he was transferred to Bedford Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, until his passing on June 18, 2021. Left to cherish his memories are his Sisters; Elena Hunt, & Gloria Pillow Brothers; Oscar Foderingham, Albert Foderingham Nieces; Loraine Palmer, Donna Norris, Patricia Evans, Rosa Pillow, Marcia Ferguson, Nilsa Jones, Elizabeth Foderingham Nephews; Julio Hunt, Victor Hunt, Rogelio Foderingham, Reinaldo Foderingham, Gregory Pillow, Michael Pillow, Raymond Pillow, Cordelio (Pete) Foderingham, Federico Foderingham, Richard Foderingham, Jeffrey Mark God daughters; Melisa (Lisa) Howerton & Shauntee Jones along with a host of great nieces, great nephews and friends. Lovingly submitted by the family
