Art Adventures Ms. Crystal Sorrow, Ms. Christina Wegner and Ms. Kyra Akay
This week students explored a variety of art mediums. The shaving cream art was a messy, colorful, and laugh inspiring activity. The students were amazed at how the shaving cream mixed with glue stayed puffy, even after drying. Students explored blending with oil pastels and spooning colored sand into jars. There were optional tissue paper projects, sidewalk chalk, and water painting. It was a thrilling exploratory week. Lessons on primary colors, secondary colors, and color mixing were presented. Benny celebrated his birthday with his walk around the sun, and a special treat on Thursday. Friday was another fun filled Splash Day. Thanks to everyone who attended this grand adventure this week. We hope to see you next week for our Lively Luau. There will even be a hula dance demonstration on Tuesday. Reminder that there will be no school next Friday in honor of July 4th.

Camp NRG was full of… ENERGY! Campers learned about how energy is created and transferred in a variety of ways. Then for each discussion we did an activity where they got to put what they learned into practice. Mr. Richard and Coach Cam taught about force, mass, acceleration, momentum, friction and more. These terms were then integrated into bowling, skating and golfing trips. Not to mention creating ‘jets and crowns’ with big splashes off the dock at Blue Springs. On site campers created wind powered and rubber band powered cars. After all this energy exertion we need a nap!

Dive into the sea to discover the many amazing creatures that make it a fascinating place! This week the children learned about Ms. Widline Senecharles and Ms. Kayleigh Bush different sea creatures such as: seahorses, sharks, sea turtles, crabs, and much more. The children were able to get an up close and personal encounter with a real fish which included: touching, smelling, looking and even making a painting with the fish. There were plenty of crafts to allow the children to be creative while learning. The children made an aquarium diorama, a seahorse with shells, turtles and octopi using bathing scrubbies, and etc. We ended the week with a yummy treat called cup o’ fish (blue Jell-o with Swedish fish). The children had a blast and discovered the wonderful adventures under the sea!!!
