FINDINGS FROM THE DISCOVERY OF DRÄI EECHELEN
U.S. journalist and Luxembourgish author Mike McQuaide teamed up with Musée Dräi Eechelen to explore the museum, the surrounding park, and put the development of the city of Luxembourg in the general frame of history. His candid and cunning ways to break down complex facts from the tangled past of Luxembourg have inspired his visitors to reconsider the ordinary as quite special after all. His 7 videos on the tunnel, the museum, the winding pathways between the Kirchberg forts, the municipal park and, most recently, the perspective of Luxembourg painters, have been a great success – altogether, they have been clicked more than 20.000 times! „BRING OUT THE FUN
AND ACCESSIBILITY OF PLACES“
Mike McQuaide has his say on the cooperation: “I’m always interested in making the unfamiliar seem familiar and the familiar seem unfamiliar. That is, bring out the fun and accessibility of places or things that people might not be aware of. And vice versa: reveal something interesting or beautiful about a place or thing that maybe we take for granted. I love to discover and share these kinds of things. And the folks at Musée Dräi Eechelen continually inspire me to try to find new ways of doing that. It’s not only really fun, but I think truly worthwhile as a way of encouraging the public to learn and experience more and more of Luxembourg’s fascinating history and culture.” Ralph Lange
