Schon seit 2000 Jahren wird hier Weinbau betrieben und seit 1524 steht das „R“ als Markenschutz und Gütezeichen für die Ruster Ausbruchweine. The vineyard of the „Elfenhof“ is located in the republic city Rust, directly at the “Neusiedler” lake in Austria, one of the best wine-growing areas of the world, with the most days of sun in Central Europe. Already for 2000 years viniculture is pursued here and since 1524 the „R“ stands as a protection of trademarks and quality mark for the Ruster eruption wines.
Das Weingut liegt an sanft nach Südosten geneigten Hügelhängen am Westufer des Neusiedler Sees, geschützt vor rauen Nordwestwinden – ein optimales Kleinklima. Dabei wirkt der See als Wärmeausgleich zwischen Tag und Nacht. Die große Wasserfläche spiegelt zudem in den Morgenstunden die ersten Sonnenstrahlen in die Ruster Reben: höhere Zuckerbildung, feinere Entwicklung des Edelsäurepilzes und somit höchste Weinqualität, das sind die zauberhaften Weine vom Elfenhof. The vineyard is located on softly to southeast inclined hillsides at the west bank of the „Neusiedler“ lake, protected from rough northwest winds – an optimum micro-climate and heat balance between day and night. The water surface reflects the first sunrays on the Ruster grape-vine in the early hours of the morning: higher sugar formation, finer development of high-grade sourness mushroom and therefore highest wine quality, these are the characteristics of the enchanting wines of the “Elfenhof”.
Seit 1642 ist das Weingut Elfenhof im Besitz der Familie. Unsere Familientradition ist uns heilig, denn hier werden seit nun zwölf Generationen das gesammelte Wissen und die vielen kleinen Geheimnisse an unsere Kinder weitergegeben. Our family hold the tradition sacred, because for twelve generations here we handed the accumulated knowledge and many small secrets down to our children. Rust is a paradise for the wine-growing:the layer, the grounds, the climate. This gives us the possibility to grow almost every grape variety. Therefore we can offer an especially wide range of wines to you.

und vernünftige Erhaltungsdüngung. 3. Schädlingsbekämpfung nach sorgfältiger Witterungsbeobachtung und Empfehlung der amtlichen Beratungsinstitute. Minimale Aufwandsmenge durch
Verwendung von Recycling-Technik. 4. Biologische Bekämpfung des Heu- und Sauerwurms (Traubenwickler) durch Verwirrmethode mit ausgebrachten Pheromonen: „no sex for butterflys“.
