Process Improvement – Propofol (DiprivanŽ) Injectable anesthetic agent. Suspension supplied in 20, 50 or 100 mL vials. 9 of 9 for persistence, bioaccumulation and toxicity (Environmentally classified pharmaceuticals, http://ww.janusinfo.se). Comprise 41% of the total waste generated (each case = new vial). Solution: 50 and 100 mL vials of propofol were removed from AMC Pharmacy inventory. Propofol only dispensed 20 mL.
