Dear Friends, In the cultural education world, an institution’s professional significance is determined by the evaluation of its peers, as well as by the qualitative achievements of its staff and the loyalty demonstrated by its community volunteers. Wearable Art IV is a Museum Guild project coordinated by the Special Events Committee of the Guild. This institutions acceptance in the community as a cultural resource is due in no small part to the loyalty and service of its Guild Members - members who have lent their unwavering support to our programs, social events and fundraisers by taking on the many tasks necessary to ensure a “good time is had by all.” The Museum’s business partners, both inside and outside of the community, have contributed generously to make this fourth annual fashion fundraiser, and, in turn, the educational programming it supports, an event that this city can take pride in. A vibrant community where the arts and culture flourish is reflective of a healthy local economy, so we encourage your support of the sponsors listed in this program. The enthusiastic commitment of this year’s Wearable Art IV Committee & Museum Guild, of the sponsors and volunteers and from each of you here this evening, is sincerely appreciated. Your dedication to the mission of the Museum is applauded by the Board of Trustees, Staff, Guild and the children, students and families who directly benefit from the Museum’s in-house and outreach educational programming. Sincerely, George Bolge Chief Executive Officer Museum of Art - DeLand DeLand is a special town, noted for its arts and cultural calendar, its authentic and vibrant Main Street, its music, museums, restaurants and stores, and its invaluable Stetson University. Wearable Art IV is the Museum Guild’s contribution to the community, fundraising for educational programming at the Museum, and bringing artists and audience together for an evening of delightful whimsy and spectacular sights to see! The Guild would like to extend a gracious thank you to all who have participated, our generous sponsors, artists, models, judges, Museum staff, production crew and the volunteers galore. You make it happen. Thank you all for being here tonight. - Deborah McShane, Guild President 5
