THRIVE IN

2025!

Do you believe in vision planning? If so, what is your vision plan for 2025? I love this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.”

I talk to a lot of people who cannot make a decision mainly because they do not have a vision. They are hung up on the “what ifs”. They are fearful of the future. What if my business declines? What if the economy does not get better? What if my business does not grow? One thing is for sure, if they do not make some decisions, all the aforementioned questions will come true. They will crawl into a proverbial hole and believe the sky is falling. Bad things will happen.

Certainly, there are many challenges in our world today that cause people to live in fear. Two wars, political and social unrest, cultural madness, and inflation to name a few. We must decide if these things will control how we think and talk and if we will allow them to shape our personal universe.

I try to ask myself two questions every morning when I am having my coffee and devotional time. How do I feel today? If I am not feeling positive and joyful, the next question is, what am I thinking about? Usually, if I am not feeling well, it is because I am not thinking well.

With all of the negative noise around us, we have to make a conscious decision about what we will think about and choose to dwell only on the thoughts that make us peaceful, joyful and positive. Thinking good makes us feel good and we are ready and equipped to tackle our day and our responsibilities. Not to mention, we are a lot more pleasant to be around!

Many of the people and businesses I have talked to recently are encouraged by recent events and have a much more positive outlook than they had three months ago. Momentum has returned in many respects, and we have good reasons to be more positive and hopeful.

To have the year we want to have, we must make the decision to forge forward without fear and with determination and enthusiasm. Once we make the decision about what we want in 2025, we must only think and talk about what we want and reject thoughts of what we are tempted to fear.

I am certain that all of you Real Producers are vision planning your 2025 and have goals of how many new clients you will gain, how many homes or properties you will sell and maybe how much money you will make. Keep that vision in front of you, think about it and talk about it and the universe will conspire to make it happen! You and your business will thrive in 2025.

Eric Boyington

Eastern Shore Fence Company & Outdoor Structures

Signature

Craftsmanship

Eric Boyington, the owner of Eastern Shore Fence Company and Outdoor Structures (ESFCO), is the July Spotlight Vendor for Mobile Bay Real Producers and is a homegrown product of the area.

Boyington has been working in the outdoor building space his entire life. At 12 yrs old, he began working with his uncle while he was building his own house in Daphne, the town in which he was raised. As a native to Baldwin County, Eric has his signature on countless outdoor renovations and new building construction.

ESFCO’s experience in outdoor space remodeling takes them all over the area, from Loxley, Robertsdale, Ono Island, Gulf Shores, Foley, Fairhope, Daphne and Spanish Fort. They also work in Mobile County constructing outdoor kitchens and renovating spaces and structures.

Early signs as a self-starter were seen when, in his early teens, Eric and his parents helped spearhead a community drive to establish a soccer program at Daphne Middle School. “There was

not a soccer team in middle school, so a group of us petitioned where we had enough kids who wanted to play and we were able to put the teams together.” Eric said.

Boyington also developed a strong work ethic when young, with early portents of today’s career path seen while working for a local landscaping company starting around sixteen.

“I got into landscaping while in high school with Coastal Exposures

Landscape in Daphne through a family connection with the owner. We’ve even become good fishing buddies after all these years.” Boyington said.

After graduation, Eric enrolled at Faulkner State Community College, earning an associate’s degree in landscape management and horticulture. Soon after, he embarked on a career in the oil & gas industry.

“I had an opportunity to get in the industry in 2005, working as a land man. In that role I was able to travel the country for work, gain knowledge and work hand in hand to help increase gas supplies to the local economies. In doing so for many years, it helped me learn the management aspect side of business as I’ve always been a driven person but by having a team of agents

working with me, we were able to accomplish more.” Boyington said.

Eric excelled in the position and advanced quickly in a career that required massive amounts of travel and relocation.

“I initially worked in Mississippi for two years and then moved to Texas for another two years. Following that was a transition to Pennsylvania for nine years and then two more years in New England before a new FERC project caused a shutdown that eliminated my role.” he said.

Due to work, Eric moved back home to Daphne in 2016, at the time thinking that this would be a transitory layover. Showing an innately fearless drive to succeed, Eric started his own company roughly one year later.

“It was supposed to be a temporary stop, but ended up being permanent. I went back to work for my former landscaping employer and also picked up side jobs on the weekends. By July of 2017, I formed a business. By September of 2017 I had moved into doing it full-time due to the amount of contract work we had lined up.” Boyington said.

Eric’s company grew rapidly from the beginning, mainly by word of mouth

“BY JULY OF 2017, I FORMED A BUSINESS. BY SEPTEMBER OF 2017 I HAD MOVED INTO DOING IT FULL-TIME DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF CONTRACT WORK WE HAD LINED UP.”

referrals in addition to social media marketing efforts on Facebook. In its first year, the business did almost $1.1 million in sales. One service that initially elevated ESFCO over other companies in the space was their fence construction methodology.

“In early 2018, we moved to a postmaster steel post, which withstands high winds and has a lifetime warranty. When Hurricane Sally hit, that was a testament to our craftsmanship.” Boyington said.

“Most people at the time were using wood posts, as that’s what a fence is usually built from, but with a structural integrity that dwindles after three to five years to then snap like a toothpick. A steel post with a lifetime warranty is not going to warp, twist or break down over time. We were the only company in the area offering this product for about three years, until Hurricane Sally came through and destroyed Mobile and Baldwin Counties. They were used more widely by our competition after that.” he added.

Eric has maintained steady growth since starting his company, serving both Baldwin and Mobile counties and employing multiple crews that perform high quality work on every job to meets his high standards.

Recently another superior product that ESFCO is known for has skyrocketed

in popularity on both sides of the bay; backyard recreational structures known as pergolas.

“We got into pergolas to help people increase their outdoor living space and we tend to build on the bigger side. We’ve had compliments from customers saying that our wellengineered designs are going to outlast their homes because of its

sound construction, which is a nice compliment.” Boyington said.

“Pergola’s with a solid roof are great spaces for outdoor entertainment at home. They will essentially keep you out of the elements for barbeque cook outs and crawfish boils during sizzling Alabama summers.” he added.

ESFCO’s experience in outdoor space remodeling takes them all over the area, in all of Baldwin County to Mobile County and beyond, constructing outdoor kitchens and renovating spaces and structures.

For those inspired by Eric’s story about pivoting into entrepre-

neurship after a long and successful corporate career in a high demand industry, he offered pragmatic advice.

“The struggle that I have as a business owner is having a limited business background. Everything that I use is based off trials and experience. Know your numbers, in a company such as mine, profit margins, material costs and cost per man hour are crucial metrics to understand. Educate yourself on basic business principles and it will pay off dividends in the long term.” Eric concluded.

Holly

Hayek Hayek

Answering The Call

“A long-time client once told me that what stood out to them was my willingness to always answer the phone and put their needs first — even if it meant rearranging my schedule to show a property on short notice… As a Realtor, having a flexible schedule is simply part of how I aim to provide the best possible service to my clients.

For Realtor, Holly Hayek, prioritizing her clients and treating each transaction with the utmost care is second nature. As a top producer year after year at Maximus Real Estate in Fairhope, Alabama, Holly’s client-first philosophy has generated a myriad of repeat referrals while her deep faith continues to guide her successful career.

Career Pivot

Originally from the rural farming town of Wauchula, Florida, Holly grew up with a strong work ethic and a commitment to family values. She met her husband, Noah, while attending Troy University, where she earned a degree in Public Relations before going back to school to study cardiovascular ultrasound.

Holly spent seven years as an ultrasound technician before stepping away to focus on raising her children. But her passion for real estate was sparked back in 2008 when she purchased a foreclosure property.

“The experience of buying and selling that home ignited my passion for the industry,” she shares. “I particularly enjoyed tackling

the challenges that came with resolving issues related to the setback lines, as the previous owner had built an addition that encroached on them.”

After years of assisting friends in their home searches and researching properties for fun, Holly finally took the leap into real estate in 2017, turning a long-held aspiration into a fulfilling career.

Holly credits her father-inlaw, Fred Hayek, as the one who gave her the final push needed to pursue a career in real estate.

“Fred was like a father to me. Two weeks before he passed, he told me, ‘You’d be great at this, go and do it!’

He always believed I had a natural talent for the field and encouraged me to take the leap,” Holly recalls.

Early Success

With her faith and family as her foundation, Holly dove headfirst into the business in 2017. She also acknowledges the instrumental role her broker, Sherry Mercer, played in helping her find her footing at first.

“Sherry really showed me the ropes when I started,” Holly

acknowledges. “And I liked being with a small, familyowned boutique company.”

Now a consistent top producer at Maximus Real Estate, Holly closed 18 transactions in 2024, totaling nearly $6 million in sales volume, with projections of $7 million for the year ahead. For Holly though, success cannot be measured in something so fleeting as revenue.

“I define success by the ability to give all the honor

and credit to my Savior, the Lord Jesus,” she emphasizes. “Every achievement and blessing in my career is a reflection of His guidance and grace.”

Service With a Purpose

Holly’s approach to real estate is grounded in flexibility and a genuine desire to meet her clients where they are — literally and figuratively. Her easilyapproachable style has earned her loyal clients and countless referrals.

“I believe in providing a level of service that reflects dedication, reliability, and genuine care for my clients’ needs and goals,” she affirms.

When asked what advice she would offer to new agents, Holly highlights the value of authenticity and accountability, crediting her relational approach and strong moral compass as

the keys to her success as a standout Realtor.

“Approach your work with sincerity and treat each client as an individual, not just a transaction,” she advises. “Take the time to truly listen to their needs and understand their unique circumstances. Be diligent in communication — answer calls, return messages promptly, and

ensure clients feel valued and heard.

“Equally important is owning your mistakes; if something goes wrong, admit it, and focus on

making it right without excuses,” she continues.

“Building trust through authenticity, accountability, and excellent service will set the foundation for long-term success in this business.”

A Life of Faith and Family

Outside the office, Holly’s world revolves around her loved ones. She and her husband, Noah — Vice President of ChemPro Services — have been married for 23 years and are proud parents to two children and doting grandparents to two grandchildren.

creative hobbies like sewing, and yard-saling for bargains with friends.

“I love the thrill of finding something special. It’s a lot like helping my clients find their dream home — it’s all about the hunt for the perfect fit!” she declares.

Faith is also central to Holly’s life. A devoted member of Lifeline Church in Point Clear, she credits her relationship with God for guiding every aspect of her life and career.

Looking ahead, Holly intends to keep going strong in real estate for years to come. She’s focused on expanding her expertise and

acquiring additional Airbnb properties. She also looks forward to traveling more with her brood, including a trip to New York City next year, and treasuring the precious time she spends with her grandchildren.

“Ultimately, my goal is to keep learning, serving, and growing while always giving all the credit to the Lord,” Holly concludes. “I don’t know how I would’ve done this without Him. Every time I am in need of a new client he sends me one, I trust that He’s guiding my path.”

For questions or comments about this article, contact Holly at (251) 550-1121 or hollyhuntshomes@gmail.com

The family lives on a 2.5acre property in Silverhill, where Holly’s love for old homes and antiques is on full display.

“Our house, built in 1948, is one of the oldest in town. We also have a pot-bellied pig, a sheep, koi fish, a dog, and a cat—it’s a little farm,” she shares with a smile.

Off the clock, Holly cherishes time with her grandchildren,

MATTHEW

WATERS

One of the surest ways of realizing success is to keep moving forward. Challenges will come. You can’t control that. But you can control your effort.

Gaining Ground Each Day

From CrossFit Coaching to Real Estate

as a coach at a CrossFit gym. It was during the pandemic, however, that Waters’ career took a sharp turn. He had a conversation with his friend Jeremy Sullivan, who was launching a real estate team and encouraged Waters to get his real estate license.

“Jeremy had always been supportive, and when the pandemic hit, he saw an opportunity for me to join his team and take my career in a new direction,” Matthew explains. “He suggested that I get my license, and after thinking about it, I decided to take the leap.”

With a newfound focus, Waters enrolled in classes and obtained his real estate license in April 2021. However, transitioning from a coaching career into real estate came with its own set of challenges. “It was definitely a challenge,” Waters reflects. “My first eight months in the business, I only sold two properties. I had to do a lot of cold calling and work with a lot of buyers in the beginning.”

Despite the early hurdles, Waters remained determined. His initial struggles didn’t deter him, and through hard work and persistence, he began to see the results of his efforts.

Building Success Through Persistence

Real estate is a competitive industry, and it takes more than just enthusiasm to succeed. For Waters, the key to overcoming the challenges and building momentum was persistence. “The key is sticking with it,” he says. “The only way you lose is if you quit. If you stick with it, you’ll sell properties, and you’ll get the hang of the business. It’s well worth it.”

Waters credits his resilience and determination for allowing him to persevere through the difficult early days of his career. As a result, he’s quickly established himself as a reliable and successful REALTOR® in Baldwin County, a place he’s called home for most of his life.

A Passion for Meeting People and Building Trust

One of the things Matthew loves most about real estate is the opportunity to meet new people regularly. “I love meeting new people all the time. It’s a refreshing part of the job,” Waters shares. He also highlights the deep level of trust that clients place in him when they decide to work with him. Whether a client is relocating from out of state or buying their first home, Waters understands the weight of their decision and values the trust they place in him.

“When someone calls me from another state, they’re putting 100% of their trust into me to help them make one of the biggest decisions of their lives,”

he explains. “It’s an incredible amount of faith that people put into you, and I’m honored when I get to be that person.”

This trust is something that drives Waters every day. “I take it very seriously. I want to do everything I can to help them find the right home and make sure the process goes smoothly,” he says.

Achieving Major Success in a Short Time

Despite the challenges of starting in real estate during a global pandemic, Waters has experienced impressive success in a short amount of time. For 2024, he is on track to close 31 transactions and achieve $12 million in sales volume, a remarkable

feat for a REALTOR® who has only been in the business for a few years.

“Every year has been better than the last,” he says. “I’m really proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish so far, but I know there’s still so much more to learn and do.”

The volume of his sales speaks volumes about his work ethic and commitment to his clients. With each transaction, Waters gains more knowledge and experience, which allows him to serve his clients even better.

Family Matters: The Heart of It All

At the core of Matthew’s success is his deep love and commitment to his family. Waters lives in Baldwin County with his wife Sara and their daughter Ella. “My family is my main drive,” Waters says. “Everything I do is for them. I want to take care of them and provide a good life for them.”

Outside of work, Waters enjoys spending quality time with his family. “We love going to the beach or spending time on the boat, enjoying all the wonderful

things our area has to offer,” he says. Baldwin County is not only home to Matthew, but it’s also a community that he deeply values.

Advice for Aspiring REALTORS®

For anyone considering a career in real estate, Waters has a simple but powerful piece of advice: be persistent. “If you stick with it and keep pushing, you’ll see success,” he encourages. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint.”

Waters believes that the key to success in real estate is determination. “You can’t expect to get rich overnight, but if you stay committed and don’t quit, you’ll find your rhythm,” he says. He adds, “Real estate is a business where you get out of it what you put into it. If you’re dedicated and work hard, it pays off in the end.”

Honesty and Transparency

A cornerstone of Waters’ business philosophy is honesty. “I’m honest, open, and transparent with my clients. I believe in giving people the information they need to make the best decisions for themselves,” he says. This straightforward approach has helped him build strong relationships with clients who trust him to guide them through one of the biggest decisions of their lives.

Congratulations to Matthew Waters. Day by day he’s helping those around him gain ground and move toward their dreams.

Katie

The Mentor’s Mentor Sondag

“Put people first, and the rest will follow – people matter. Don’t be afraid to try something someone else said wouldn’t or couldn’t work.”

Katie Sondag isn’t afraid of being the underdog. As the broker in charge at Keller Williams Alabama Gulf Coast, Katie oversees a staggering 175 agents in the Daphne and Orange Beach offices, a feat made all the more remarkable by her relatively short threeyear stint in the real estate industry after overcoming plenty of personal obstacles. Katie is redefining success with her hands-on approach to mentoring agents, plenty of grit, and a devout belief in the potency of relationships.

“I look at this career as a privilege to serve others, and I take great pride in always striving to do the right thing, lead by example, and leave everyone I meet — whether on the professional side, or on the client side — one percent better than I found them,” Katie remarks.

From Stay-at-Home Mom to Leader

Before the world of real estate beckoned, Katie navigated the complexities of life as a

stay-at-home mother with a military spouse. She embraced the challenge, but life took an unexpected turn, when her eldest son, Caleb, was diagnosed with a severe speech delay and an autism spectrum disorder at the age of two.

“I had to navigate the physically and mentally difficult path with two kids under two, and a husband who was serving our country overseas,” Katie reflects. “Caleb did not speak until he was 4 … It was a challenging time.”

While managing the home front, however, Katie says she has always found herself drawn to leadership roles.

EYESKY VIDEO PHOTO FILM PRODUCTIONS
My focus on relationships forms the cornerstone of my business philosophy. I don’t prioritize production numbers because my focus is on building relationships in and around the community.”

“I managed a coffee shop back in college, where I fell in love with leading others and watching them grow,” she recalls. “I was the youngest manager in that franchise business and still turned it into one of the highestperforming stores in the company.”

After her son’s diagnosis, Katie put everything else on hold and dedicated herself to ensuring Caleb received the necessary therapy and care. Today, Caleb’s promising future is a testament to his mother’s belief that challenges can be overcome with resilience and the right mindset.

“With a ton of hard work and dedication on both his part and mine, Caleb is now a thriving 10th grade student at the Alabama School of Math and Science, where he excels in all things academic,” Katie says with pride.

“He plans to study neuroscience at a top university in a few short years. He truly is a product of a very dedicated parent, and a hard-working young man with big goals.”

A Hands-On Approach

Katie’s approach to success goes beyond conventional metrics — she admits she doesn’t

even track her sales numbers so there’s no point in using them in her advertising. Her business is a unique blend of the production side, where she seamlessly handles residential, investor, and commercial markets, and the leadership side, where mentorship and relationships takes center stage.

“When others around me succeed, that is how I define success,” she asserts. “My focus on relationships forms the cornerstone of my business philosophy. I don’t prioritize production numbers because my focus is on building relationships in and around the community.”

As the director of mentors for Keller Williams Alabama Gulf Coast, Katie’s mentorship role extends to approximately a dozen new agents.

“I take the mentorship role very seriously; what motivates me is not the almighty dollar, but proving myself as a hands-on mom and now a hands-on broker,” she shares.

Katie’s passion for serving as a mentor to other mentors underscores her commitment

to nurturing talent and fostering growth within the industry.

“Success as a mentor is when you can help someone else and lead them to change the trajectory of their future,” Katie states. “My joy lies in watching others discover their passions and unlock talents they didn’t know they had.”

The Balancing Act

In an incredibly busy but full life, Katie juggles her roles as a mother, broker, and mentor. Her four boys—Caleb (15), Aiden (14), Mason (10), and Brennan (7) — are her world and the driving force behind her career.

Outside of work, Katie and her family enjoy relaxing at the beach, spending time with their three wonderful furry friends, Winston (a mini schnauzer), Lady (a mini poodle) and Sherman (a yorkiepoo), and cheering on the LSU Tigers from her parents’ season ticket seats in Death Valley.

“Everything I do to grow my career is for my kids,” Katie points out. “I want to provide for them a future I never thought possible, but I also want to show them that no matter how late in life you start, or far behind you feel you are, you can put your head down, do the work, and make big things happen for yourself.”

Looking Ahead

Katie’s remarkable journey from stay-at-home mom to a leader in Mobile Bay real estate also serves as inspiration for her agents as well as her own children.

“I tell my agents that even if they’re 55 and just got their license, everybody can find success if you do the work,” Katie emphasizes. ““But don’t compare yourself to others. Why would you ever compare your Chapter 2 to someone else’s Chapter 27? You have your own story.”

As Katie charts her path forward, her sights are set on starting her own team at KW and continuing to grow her mentoring endeavors, while still making time to give back to her community.

“I am currently on the Baldwin REALTORS® Foundation Board, and was just recently elected as the vice president and presidentelect for the upcoming term,” Katie concludes with a smile. “This is a relatively new, terrific foundation that focuses on housing deficits in the area and I’m excited to lay the groundwork to further impact my community.”

The list will reset at the end of 2022 for next year and will continue to update annually.

Q: WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR BEING FEATURED IN THIS MAGAZINE?

A: The process is simple. Every feature you see has first been nominated. You can nominate REALTORS®, agents, affiliates, brokers, owners, or even yourself. Office leaders can also nominate real estate agents. We will consider anyone you bring to our attention because we don’t know everyone’s story, and we need your help to learn more.

A nomination currently looks like this: Email us at robert.orso@realproducersmag.com with the subject line “Nomination: (Name of Nominee)” and explain why you are nominating the individual. Maybe the person has an amazing story that we need to tell, or perhaps someone overcame

extreme obstacles, is an exceptional leader, has the best customer service, or gives back to the community in a big way. The next step is an interview with us to ensure a good fit, and then we put the wheels in motion for our writer to conduct an interview and for our photographer to schedule a photo shoot.

Q: WHAT IS THE COST TO FEATURE A REALTOR®, AGENT, OR TEAM?

A: Zero, zilch, zippo, nada, nil. The feature costs nothing, my friends, so nominate away! We are not a pay-to-play model. We share real stories of Real Producers.

Q: WHO ARE THE PREFERRED PARTNERS?

A: Anyone listed as a preferred partner in the front of the magazine is a part of this community and will have an ad in every issue of the magazine, attend our quarterly events, and be a part of our online community. We don’t just find these businesses off the street, nor do we work with all businesses that approach us. One or many of you have recommended every preferred partner you see in this publication. We won’t even meet with a business that you have not vetted and stamped for approval, in a sense. Our goal is to create a powerhouse network for the REALTORS® and agents in the area and for the best affiliates so we can grow stronger together.

Q: HOW CAN I RECOMMEND A PREFERRED PARTNER?

A: If you have a recommendation for a local business that works with top real estate agents, please let us know. Send an email to robert.orso@realproducersmag.com.
