Uber commits to Government’s vision of Cashless India

Telenor India and Huawei Telecommunications India announced successful trials and tests of revolutionary Lean BCCH solutions in India. A technology standard designed to address spectrum scarcity and broaden the future of NB- IoT eco-system, Lean BCCH can enable Telenor India to offer affordable mobile broadband (MBB) services to customers without any additional investment. The trial was conducted in Barauch town of Gujarat. The observation reveals that spectrum efficiency improved up to 30% after LEAN BCCH trial and the GSM KPIs are comparable even after re-farming of 1.4MHz spectrum out of 5MHz. The solution is supported by advanced technologies and features which helped to control interference and ensured the best utilization of frequency channels in GSM. Lean BCCH along with LEAN GSM technology uses GPS-based synchronization and advanced intelligent interference control management based on real time network conditions.

Forging an alliance that brings millions of riders and driver partners into the digital payments revolution, Uber India announced a comprehensive Unified Payments Interface (UPI) integration in partnership with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and banking partners Axis Bank and HDFC Bank. Supporting the government’s mission to transform India into a digital payments led society, Uber’s initiative reaffirms the ridesharing technology firm’s resolve to play a catalytic role in the mass adoption of fintech innovations such as BHIM/UPI for millions of riders and driver partners. Launching the integration, the Hon’ble Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology and Law & Justice, Government of India, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, said “India’s digital economy will become a $1trillion economy in the next five years. India’s digital payments economy alone will be bigger than $500 billion. Integration of Uber app with UPI-BHIM will boost the digital economy of India.”

Roll out of 4G technology with an increase in data, entry of new players in the market, introduction of digital wallets, popularity of smart phone leading to consistent increase in demand for technology and other developments in the telecom sector likely to increase job opportunities by 30 lakhs by 2018, according to an ASSOCHAM-KPMG joint study.Emerging technologies such as 5G, M2M and the evolution of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) are expected to create employment avenues for almost 870,000 individuals by 2021, reveals the ASSOCHAM-KPMG joint study. The existing manpower in the sector may not be adequate both in number as well as in skill to cater to the upcoming demand. There is a need to bridge the gap in skill which on the one hand would require identification of skilled manpower in diverse roles such as infra and cyber security experts, application developers, sales executives, infrastructure technicians, hand-

set technicians etc. as well as on the other hand reskilling of existing manpower working on existing technologies for them to be updated with upcoming requirements.

AKAI India expands its footprint with the setting up of 100th servicing center

AKAI, announced the opening of its 100th servicing center in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh. To further amplify its presence in the country, the Japanese tech giant said that it is going to increase its focus for the next two years on marketing, distribution and after-sales service network. For more than eight decades, Akai has proven itself, one of the premier offerings in the product segment and innovation for consumer electronics. Akai is engaged in offering quality home entertainment products, specializing in audio and video arena. With a mis- sion to enhance the overall customer experience, the company also plans to triple the number of servicing centers in the country to 300 by the end of 2017. The company has also ramped up its distribution in most of the Northern region and is expanding to other States such as Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. Look and Feel: The device has a decent design, nothing thing unique or attractive as per the looks is concern. The smartphone is easy for operation with a single hand given the compact form factor. iVooMi Me3S comes with 5.2 inch HD IPS Shatterproof Display with 2.5D curve glass, which is the main USP of this device. The display didn’t crack on the shortfalls from the table or from the bed. The handset comes with a screen guard in a box. The front panel of iVoomi Me 3S has three touch buttons viz, home button, back button, and multitasking button. Spice Devices will be available across offline channel.
