3/19 Rachel Carson Hike
Meet a naturalist at Rachel Carson Conservation Park for a hike through meadow and forest in search of the first signs of spring. We may even find breeding frogs and salamanders! Bring binoculars, water, and dress for the weather. Trails are often muddy so wear good hiking shoes. 3/20 Garden Day
Discover the joys and benefits of gardening! Drop by the visitor center to ask questions about gardening and get your Gardening Info Pack about invasive and native plants, pollinators, and gardening for wildlife. Included will be a take-home activity for kids. Please register so that we can prepare enough materials. We will not be able to distribute Gardening Info Packs to anyone that hasn’t registered. There’s nothing like sitting around a campfire under the stars! Join a naturalist for themed songs, stories, games, and of course, s’mores around the fire. 3/23 Terapeutic Recreation Gardening 101
Gardening has been proven to improve physical health, mental wellness, and cognitive ability! Join us for this 5-sessionseries to learn how to grow native plants, herbs, or vegetables. This program is designed to support aspiring gardeners with disabilities. We will supply guidance and all materials, including accessible garden beds, worktables, and ergonomic garden tools. At the end of our program you will have acquired the skills, and plants, to take home and continue your garden adventures. participants will be asked to complete a Modification Intake Form upon registration to ensure appropriate support from Program Access.
