SAVANNAH Growing up in Montclair, NJ, sophomore Savannah Bigelow lived 15 minutes outside of New York City. She considers the Big Apple to be one of her favorite places, and she spent a lot of time there both during high school and while she interned there with a PR firm last summer. She claims that the city itself and its people have influenced her overall sense of style. Certainly, her penchant for a darker palette and enthusiasm to try daring trends shows this, but since moving to the Midwest Savannah has developed a new perspective on fashion that combines the comfort of Wisconsin with the city glamour she loves.

Monday: Mixed Media Currently, Savannah enjoys mixing a lot of different styles. Whether she’s pairing leather with lace or leather with denim, Savannah likes to experiment with a variety of textures. Here, she’s donning her favorite oversized denim shirt with a pair of leather pants from Zara. For the most part, Savannah sticks to neutral colors in her wardrobe, but when it comes to footwear, especially sneakers, Savannah gravitates towards something more colorful and fun, like her red Superga sneakers. To complete her ensemble, Savannah always adds the finishing touch with her signature jewelry. Her favorite piece is her silver cross necklace, which her grandmother got married in.

Tuesday: Fall Back on Black

After being in such close proximity to New York for most of her life, Savannah accumulated a wardrobe filled with darker colors, namely black. Citing the hue as her comfort zone, it is not rare to catch Savannah in an all-noir ensemble. Always on the hunt for unique items, one of Savannah’s favorite pieces is her asymmetrical black skort. Appearing like a skirt in the front, but revealing shorts in the back, there is truly nothing else quite like it in her wardrobe. When styling a special item such as this, Savannah typically reaches for her classic, graphic black tee, adding a simple pair of black flats to chicly top off her look.

Wednesday: Seasonal Staples After moving to Wisconsin, sweaters and jeans have become staples in Savannah’s fall wardrobe as they allow her to look effortlessly put-together while still staying warm in the fickle autumn weather. This fall, Savannah has jumped on the boyfriend jeans bandwagon after falling in love with their comfort. To style hers, she reaches for her cowl-neck, cable knit sweater and leather booties. Both from Zara, these items are seasonal favorites in Savannah’s wardrobe. A self-proclaimed Zara devotee, Savannah has an impressive collection of items from the higher-end street store.

Thursday: Balancing Act Quoting Oscar Wilde by saying, “You can never be overdressed or overeducated, Savannah always makes a conscious decision to look put-together. That being said, she is always carful not to overdo it, and she constantly works to create a balance in her overall look. In this ensemble, her high-slit maxi skirt is quite daring, but she tones it down with a chunky black sweater that she borrowed from a friend. She completes her look properly with a touch of Zara by throwing on an edgy pair of black heels.

Friday: Playfully Sleek

While dresses and skirts are a typical go-to for most college students on a Friday night out, Savannah likes to experiment with other options. Sporting an embellished Zara jumpsuit is a perfect mix of elegance and fun for Savannah, providing her with the perfect alternative ensemble for a night on the town. Additionally, after interning at a PR firm this summer in New York, Savannah developed a proclivity for high heels. While they may not be practical for a day of class, her nude pumps are the ideal finish to this evening look.
