Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Virginia Beach.

What is one thing you miss the most about your hometown?

I feel like it's just being able to be with my family, my friends, my community. It's so nice when we're all just together. I really miss being able to just be with them every day.

What's the wildest thing you've ever done in your life?

I went to this wellness bar in San Francisco and it's, you know, a spa where you can go to do the cold plunge, the hot sauna, steam room. So everyone was in the nude, and I didn't know that that was going to be the situation. I was wearing this underwear which said, “pay attention” that I've had since I was 13! It was one of those very awkward, wild moments where I was walking around the spa in this underwear!

Favorite book that you enjoyed recently?

I have a few favorite books, but one that I always go back to is Kurt Vonnegut Slaughterhouse-Five, and it sounds, really crazy, but it's just this idea of escapism, and it's so cool how he can just, like, travel to different points of his life. I always thought that would be so interesting.

How do you describe your personal style?

I would say it's classic, with an edgy twist and definitely not trendy. I definitely want to wear pieces that I can wear now, and I can wear them in ten years and not look back and hate the look.

Fashion icon?

Naomi Campbell. She has broken so many barriers in the industry for diversity, inclusivity. I feel like she's always been fearless in the pursuit of her passions. She doesn't care about what other people think and is just so focused on her career goals and being the best she can be. I feel like everyone says that, but it's definitely some inspiration for me.

What is your favorite aspect of being a model?

There's so many things I love about being a model. I feel like it's hard to choose one, but I would say it's really just the ability to express yourself in so many different forms. It's like you go for a fashion shoot and you transform, and you can bring out different parts of your personality and be able to just like, evoke this emotional response through a photo. It's a really meaningful part of what I do and I really enjoy it.

You're also the founder of the beauty line Prakti, what was your inspiration behind the brand?

It stems back to my childhood. I grew up practicing all these amazing rituals and remedies with my mom and my grandma,

and just seeing how effective they were and just wanting to really make them accessible to all women and to really empower women through holistic self-care. So that's my mission with Prakti and that's what we're trying to do through skincare. And just to make sure women are feeling their best and are able to achieve all of their goals and their passions.

Must-have beauty products from the line? That’s hard. It's like picking a baby, you can't pick your favorite baby!

I feel like the one that would be most special to me would be Pretty Polish, our Instant Glow exfoliator. It’s the first product we launched. We developed that product for years and it changes color when you add water to it. It's this really beautiful, sensorial wellness experience which has like this incredible aroma that uplifts and energizes, but I love all of them!

What makes the brand so unique in the beauty space?

It's really just modernizing ayurvedic traditions. It's like the combination of clinical science with these beautiful time trusted ingredients that have been around for thousands of years. It's also immersive wellness. It's not just skincare, but it's influencing people to really take care of themselves through and through, and to look at beauty in a holistic manner. That way they can improve their overall health and wellbeing.

What excites you most about the brand? I feel like every day I'm excited about something.

What can we look out for next with Prakti? Any upcoming collections you can share with us?

Definitely the category expansion, and we're about to be in stores and I feel like it's a living, breathing entity. I'm growing as it's growing and it's constantly evolving. I feel like, as a founder, you have to be quick to adapt so I think that’s keeping me on my toes every day.

Prakti is also launching with Goop which is something I've been looking forward to. I've been talking to their team for years, and I'm so excited that people will be able to go into stores and experience our products.

Best beauty advice you've ever received? I’ve had so much beauty advice in my life. I think the number one would be advice from my mom. I'd be going to all these shoots and these events and getting glammed up, and she would always say that the only way you're going to feel that confidence and that fierceness really only comes from the inside. It's knowing how powerful you are, that your soul is pure and that it doesn't matter how much makeup you're wearing, you have to have that first and foremost. That is what is going to radiate and allow you to be the best that you can be.

Can you reveal to us one of your beauty secrets?

One of my best beauty secrets is that I have a facial massage, so it really detoxifies. And it really gives you this lift from within, a glow and a sculpted face. So I did that right before this shoot, and I try to do it once a day.

Strong lip or strong eye?

Definitely a strong eye. I think you always want everything to be lifted. And I feel like just drawing people into the eye is always much more powerful. Although a lip is always nice, I'm more of an eye girl.

What are your Top 3 Beauty Tips for Summer?

Definitely hair oiling before the beach. I think it's really fun to be able to do a nice, slicked back look, and it's so great for your hair health. My second tip is shimmery soft pastels and the third tip would just be to create glowing, dewy, and healthy skin.

How do you start your day?

I start my day with an hour for myself. I'll wake up, do some meditation and some stretching. It really depends how much time I have, but I do like to devote some time to skincare, of course, and also just going through my intentions for the day. If it's before I shoot or before meetings, it's really nice to check in with how I'm feeling and what I'm setting out to do that day.

Go-to karaoke song?

This is a good one. My go-to karaoke song is “Dirty Little Secret” by the All American Rejects. I have an older brother and it was his favorite song so it became my favorite song too!

What would you like to say to your fans? Be fearless in the pursuit of all of your passions. We are multi-dimensional women and we're capable of anything that we set our mind to. Having the guts and conviction to go out there and do what you love is so important. And you know you have it within you.

How did you begin your career?

I always liked taking pictures and videos of my friends, the places I visited, or my outfits. When I started making my account public and posting more regularly, my Instagram started growing. That’s how it all started.

How do you hope to inspire people through your social media platform? What can your followers expect to see when visiting your social media page(s)?

I hope I can inspire people to be confident and true to themselves. I think most people follow me because of my outfits – I don’t like to limit myself to only one style. I wear what I love, not what is on trend. Also, I read a lot and have been posting more book content, so a lot of people told me they come to my account for book recommendations, which makes me so happy. It really depends on the platform: On Instagram, it is mostly my outfits and makeup; on YouTube, it is more personal; and on TikTok, I mix both –outfit and makeup inspo with lifestyle and vlog content.

What has been the highlight of 2024 so far for you?

My sisters and I all live in different cities, and we met at the beginning of the year. This was my highlight 100%.

What was your favorite part about your stay at the 138 Liberdale Hotel?

The huge, comfy beds and the amazing food! You need to try the sashimi if you’re staying there!

Dream vacation location?

I really want to visit Seoul. It looks so beautiful, and I have only heard great things about it.

What was the highlight of your trip with Modeliste?

The trip to Lisbon was so cool! I think my highlight was meeting all the girls and our fun conversations at dinner. Another highlight was exploring the city with the little tuk-tuks.

What's your go-to airport look? Essentials to pack in a carry on?

I always go for oversized jeans, and most of the time, I wear boots, which isn’t the most comfortable option, but they just take up too much space in my luggage. I always pack hand sanitizer, a book, noise-canceling headphones, and a cozy scarf which can double as a cushion.

Girls' night in or Girls' night out?

I am not the biggest club person, but I love a girls' night out in a cute restaurant where everyone gets dressed up! I am normally such a homebody that when I meet my girls, I like to go out (I hope this makes sense haha).

What's a typical work week like for you? Any advice for staying productive throughout the week?

Every week looks super different depending on the jobs I must shoot, events I attend, or if I have to travel for work. It is super hard to build a set routine for me because of that. But one thing that really helps me stay productive is setting goals for my week. I am a stationary fan—I have so many different notebooks, and writing realistic to-do lists helps me organize and get stuff done. I don’t know why, but if I write my to-dos down on my phone, I never actually do them? It needs to be in my notebook.

What's your current skincare routine?

Any products you'd recommend for our Modeliste readers?

I have been so into skincare lately! I love trying out different products, and these are my all-time favorites: ISDIN sunscreen, Beauty of Joseon Ginseng cleanser, and the COSRX vitamin C serum. I also use the Rhode products as skin prep before I do my makeup.

What's something your followers would be surprised to know about you?

I have had a driver’s license for over four years now and have only driven three times because I am too scared.

Where do you gain inspiration for content?

Any tips & tricks you'd like to share for those aspiring to have a career like your own?

I get my inspiration from Pinterest, my friends and mutuals on Instagram, and most importantly, movies! Especially movies from the 90s – the best fashion inspo in my opinion. I think the most important part is staying true to yourself! Post the things you really like and wear clothes you love—the right audience will come eventually. Also, consistency is key!

What makes you different from other content creators?

I try to be as transparent and authentic as possible! I hope I don’t set any unrealistic standards.

What would you like to say to your fans/ followers?

I really appreciate every single one of you, thank you so much for your support! Every time I meet one of you, you are always the nicest and coolest girls ever! I hope that all of your dreams come true.

How did you begin your career?

I started six years ago with my ex-boyfriend to share our lifestyle in Paris and talk about our relationship. We began with a blog like everyone at that time, but now it's a bit outdated in France.

How do you hope to inspire people through your social media platform? What can your followers expect to see when visiting your social media page(s)?

When I started posting on social media, there weren't many black women in the media, and even fewer as dark as me. So, there was a lack of representation of black women. That's what I want to do, what I hope to achieve on my platform. I want to speak loudly for these women and share our perspective on the world. Our way of doing makeup, styling our hair, and everything else. Just to be present everywhere, every day.

What has been the highlight of 2024 so far for you?

I took a trip to Sri Lanka in February. It was my first time in Asia, and I loved it so much. It reinforced my desire to travel and discover our world.

What was your favorite part about your stay at the 138 Liberdale Hotel?

The staff is very attentive to the needs of its customers, the room decoration is very elegant, and the restaurant is incredible.

Dream vacation location? Right now, it would be Bali.

What was the highlight of your trip with Modeliste?

Discovering the city by tuk-tuk was an amazing experience. I will remember it for the rest of my life.

What's your go-to airport look? Essentials to pack in a carry on?

My go-to airport look is definitely my New Balance sneakers, a beautiful tracksuit, and of course, compression stockings to keep my legs slim.

Girls' night in or Girls' night out? Girls' night out!

What's a typical work week like for you? Any advice for staying productive throughout the week?

It's a week planned with some photo shoots and meetings with brands I love to work with. I'm also attending some events in Paris and sharing everything with my community on social media. By the way, I have to finish packing my boxes for the move.

What's your current skincare routine?

Any products you'd recommend for our Modeliste readers?

You have to start with a good makeup remover from Pixi Beauty, moisturizing creams from Shiseido, and lipstick from Wonder Skin.

What's something your followers would be surprised to know about you?

Maybe they would be surprised to know that I hate ballet flats, even if they're Chanel. In fact, they wouldn't be surprised at all (laughs).

Where do you gain inspiration for content?

Any tips & tricks you'd like to share for those aspiring to have a career like your own?

You have to know that Pinterest will be your best friend for inspiration. Also, I'm inspired by women with empowerment, who believe they are capable of anything. And I love seeing that even on social media. So I try to do my best to share this kind of lifestyle too.

What makes you different from other content creators?

I think, to be a good content creator, you have to find your uniqueness. I think my account is not similar to any other. I share my vision of life, my way of dressing, and my joy of living spontaneously. I'm not looking for new trends to follow and reach, but to be myself and be real with my community.

What would you like to say to your fans/ followers?

I truly love you all, and I couldn't be more grateful for the support you give me every day.

Fathers + Daughters Cellars, a small label in the Anderson Valley from the family of Ferrington Vineyard, celebrates the love between a father and a daughter, and is the passion project of two dads and three daughters. Guy Pacurar and his wife, Sarah, started Fathers + Daughters with Sarah’s dad, Kurt Schoeneman, the owner of the Anderson Valley’s storied Ferrington Vineyard where F+D Cellars sources much of their fruit, and Guy’s older daughter, Taylor. The birth of Sarah and Guy’s daughter, Ella, in 2012 inspired them to create a label celebrating the special bond that exists between fathers and daughters.
