If you do, you are going to love Lupita’s. We were regulars at the original location on Oakdale Road when it first opened up. In the kitchen, making those original tasty favorites was Lupita Gonzalez. Now, she has opened her own restaurant with her family and it is great, friendly and nicely remodeled, and the food is legit. There are many favorites here, like the Steak Milenesa, the Carne Asada and the Camerones al Mojo, delicious Molcajete and a full breakfast selection including Nopales con Huevos & machaca. They even have burgers for those that prefer. Don’t pass up the Aqua Frescas and beer and wine available. Give it a try.

Did You Know?

Did you know that the pecan is the only major tree nut that is indigenous to the United States? They are a species of hickory native to the Southeast, but it’s the official state nut of the State of California! Pecan is an Algonquin word, no matter how you pronounce it (PE-KAHN or PEECAN), and while indigenous populations have eaten them for centuries, commercial production of the nut did not begin until the 1880s - much later than other nuts like peanuts, almonds, and cashews. Plus, the growing and cultivation of pecans requires SIGNIFICANTLY less water than its counterparts which is great for the environment because it is native to this land.

Sounds like a win/win! Get yourself a slice of Pecan Pie or find a roadside Stuckey’s for a Pecan Log, but no matter what you do, enjoy our official state nut, the pecan!
