ACTIVITY SHEET SCIENCE BEHIND BEHIND THE WEATHER Weather can be unpredictable and is constantly changing, but it does usually follow patterns. Depending on what season you are in, the patterns are usually similar. Summer will usually have warm sunny days with some rain in the afternoons, whereas winter may have more days when it is dry and cool outside. Keeping a weather journal or chart helps you to see the changes in these patterns for yourself. Try this for a week at about the same time of day or even several times a day. After the week is over, take a look at your chart. Did you see patterns? Do you think you can predict what the next day might be like?
KEY TERMS • Chart - a sheet giving information in a table or list that helps you to compare things. • Journal - a daily record of news or events. • Pattern - the repeated or regular way in which something happens or is done. • Predict - to say or estimate that something will happen in the future. • Season - the four different times of the year with different types of weather.

1. Grab the paper plate and divide it into 4 (four) sections with coloring tools. 2. Tape one printable on each section. 3. Color and label each type of weather. 4. Place paper clip on the side of the plate indicating the weather of the day.
