Student Run Business
The New
Student-Run Business
As part of our educational philosophy of REALearning: Relational, Experiential, Authentic Learning, Archbishop Moeller High School opened a business run solely by students. This offering gives students unique, real-world business and finance perspective, all guided by Moeller business department faculty as well as various staff members.
The Moeller student-run business is an appareldecorating company, focused on printed and embroidered products. The classroom is set up with a direct-to-garment printer, heat press, dryer and embroidery machine. The class curriculum focuses on all aspects of starting up and running a business. Accounting, finance, inventory management and quality control are also at the core of this learning experience. The young men who are in the first year of this experience are working on a business plan, name and a logo for the business.
Students also have the opportunity to produce products after school hours as employees. If you are looking for some merchandise for your company or group, the student-run business might be your source! Contact Shawn Baxla at sbaxla@Moeller.org for more information.
