Tonight, high s~hool hockey comes to the brrthplac:e of the sport in the Queen C1ty the Cincinnati Gardens. The first of the Moeller-Sycamore City Block Challenges will begin at 7 p.m. and will be the first sanctioned high school hockey game at the Gardens, current home of the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the American Hockey League. Tickets are $5. "We look forward to Moeller and Sycamore playing even more games in our building," Gardens president Peter Robinson said. "We hope the games will contribute to the growth of high school hockey in this city." Moeller coach Andy Prokupec said there will be two more Moeller-Sycamore games after to-night's contest. One will be Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. at the Gardens, and the other Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. at SportsPlus on Reading Road in Evendale. Moeller leads the all-time series 9-3. The Moeller program has been in existen~e for 19 years, while the Av1a~ors have been on the ice for JUSt six seasons. Moeller brings a 3-5 record into tonight's game. · Sycamore is 2-3-2. The crusaders have won the southwest Ohio High School Hockey' League title seven times and Prokupec has been at the helm of two of those title teams. "I've been playing Moeller most of my life," said Sycamore's first-year hockey coach John Neeb, who went to Talawanda High School and played hockey against the Crusaders on a regular basis.
