This camp will cover the fundamentals of baseball – hitting, pitching, catching, throwing, base running as well as infield and outfield play. Games are also part of the daily schedule. This camp will teach the fundamentals of basketball, teamwork and good sportsmanship through various skill sessions, competitions, and games. Basketball Summer League

This league will give 8th and 9th graders the opportunity to play under the guidance of Moeller coaches. No practices; just games. Participants are placed on teams and are guaranteed seven games. New this year will be an end-ofleague tournament with the potential of three additional games. Rosters and game schedules will be emailed prior to the start of the league. Each participant will receive a reversible jersey.
Cheer Camp

Fun and Games Camp

NEW! 3D Maker Camp

This camp will offer participants the opportunity to experiment and learn the principles of board game design using 3D tools. Over the course of the week, campers will develop a unique board game concept using new, state-of-theart technology housed at Moeller that will allow them to physically produce their creative game pieces to accompany their board design. Software used includes Tinkercad, Adobe and Text Edit.

Animation Movie Production (AMP) Camp

Animation Movie Production (AMP) Camp invites campers to be part of the entire movie-making process. Participants will be introduced to storyboarding and planning, special effects (green screen, make-up, postproduction), animation/graphic design, videography, and editing. Art Camp: Brain Candy - Around the World Grades 6-8, Boys and Girls

Brain Candy: Around the World Camp will submerse campers in creative brain candy to construct characters for narrative illustration. Over four days of camp, participants will make zines (mini art themed books) using sketchbooks to make creative brain-candy inspired pages and art cards with mixed media materials. Visual journals pages and zines are great ways to engage students in long-term and short-term topical/ theme-based work. Campers will construct a variety of works culminating in a student-designed exhibition on the final day of camp when all are welcome to join us for the final hour. Art Camp: Creatures and Creativity - Global Adventures Camp Grades 3-5, Boys and Girls

Chemistry Camp

Participants will study density, concentration, physical/chemical changes, freezing point depression and rates of reactions. Color Guard Camp

This co-ed camp gives participants a look into what it takes to be a member of the Moeller Color Guard and the Moeller Winter Guard with a special focus on dance, flag work, and body movement. Working alongside staff and members of the Moeller/MND Band, campers will work with the traditional equipment of color guard – flags, rifles, and sabers. Never done guard before? No problem! Try something different! The week will culminate with a performance open to families on Friday morning.

This camp will give students the opportunity to construct and read stories, both fiction and nonfiction, in various genres: prose, graphic, poetry, speeches, and journals. Campers will start each day with a journaling prompt. The group will then read and discuss the featured writing sample followed by the opportunity to then create their own piece. Camp instruction is provided by Moeller faculty.

High School Placement Test Prep Camp
Grade 8

This camp works to strengthen test-taking skills, master time management strategies, motivate and build selfconfidence. Participants will learn what to expect on HSPT test day. All students in each session will report on the Friday of their camp week at 8:30 a.m. for the HSPT practice test. Each student will need to purchase a test prep book and complete a practice test prior to camp. We will release the book title and instructions for the practice test this spring. Moeller will offer a free HSPT Refresher session to camp participants in mid-November.
Crusader Lego Masters

Using the latest technology and software, campers will design an application or game for mobile devices (iPhone, Android phones, iPod Touch, iPad, Android Tablets). This camp combines our former leadership camp with a new twist! Participants will spend the morning exploring what it takes to become Remarkable leaders in mind, body and spirit. After lunch, campers will be introduced to life skills that will help them flourish as they grow into young adulthood. Topics will include job interview training, first dance preparation, car maintenance and the fine art of conversation. Camp curriculum also includes discussions using the book “The Long Way Down” by Jason Reynolds. Campers must provide their own peanut/tree nut-free lunch.
Robotics Camp

Theatre Camp

Theatre Camp will develop campers' creative talents and interests via activities, games, various drama workshops and live performance. Storytelling, improv, creating characters and playwriting will all be included in this inventive week. No previous experience is necessary in theatre; everyone has a creative streak. Details to be released regarding an end-of-camp performance on Friday in the Paul E. Flaig Performing Arts Center. Camp instruction is provided by Moeller’s Writer in Residence, Mr. Girard, a Moeller English teacher of 21 years with an MA and MFA in creative writing, playwright/director, and a NY Times best-selling author.
NEW! Video Games: From Campaigns to Conclusion s Grades 7-8

This camp will teach participants all about story composition by studying characterization, plot maps, literary terms, grammar, and other elements by using the campaigns and stories of famous and modern video games. The camp will spur critical and creative thinking by asking why creators make the decisions they do and what makes a game's story stand the test of time. When not analyzing the literary components of games, campers will be working on two projects. The first project will include planning and creating a new game story as a creative writing exercise. The second project will include writing thesis statements and essays based on video games played in class or one played on a camper's own time. This camp offers campers a chance to develop their writing skills while exploring their passion for gaming. Camp instruction is provided by Moeller faculty.
