Welcome to The Corner THE STONE-COLD TRUTH BY EVANGELIST CAPUCINE HINES

I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds... I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High. Psalm 9:1

There are many things to thank God for. With every breath we take, it is a reminder to always be grateful for the lives we have been given. The good, the bad and the indifferent. Thank Our Father for it all. Appreciative for every good and perfect gift because it comes from the greatest gift giver of all, YAWEH. Appreciate the opportunities provided to each of us and be mindful that, God, is the source of every resource. He deserves all of our Praise. Let His praises ring from your heart with the fruit of your lips. Sing praises to our Heavenly King. As we lift the Savior up and rejoice in the celebration of His birth, we are aware that for many; this season may bring sadness and sorrow. We who are a part of Christ need to be vigilant to pray for one another, greet each other with a smile and uplift one another with encouragement. Let's represent the Savior of the world and share the presence of His Love.

Blessings, Evangelist Capucine Hines

Ephraim Stevens was accepted into Ithaca College and the group was no longer active. However, Rev. Stevens continued to do solo performances, train choirs, and give private voice lessons.

The group experienced Mark Jr.’s challenge with Multiple Sclerosis, which left him unable to walk or play drums. Also, the death of Eric Jones was further devastating. However, after 25 years, Rev. Stevens, Zipporah Brown and Ephraim Stevens performed together at Mark Jr.’s house in Florence, South Carolina. It was a very moving performance. Miracle Group still is active, despite health challenges and geographical boundaries.

In 2012, Rev. Stevens accepted the call to train the choir at New Hope and Life Church of God in Capitol Heights, Maryland, under the leadership of Bishop Dana Head and Co- Pastor Dr. Claudine Head who had previously had voice training from her. Under Rev. Stevens training, the choir had a major improvement. The improvement was so impressive that Bishop Head received requests from other pastors for Rev. Stevens to come and train their choirs.

DR. JACQUELINE

Deeply appreciative of her volunteer time with the choir as well as her ministry history, on January 2015, Dr. Claudine Head wrote Rev. Stevens that the New Hope and Life.

THE HISTORY OF MIRACLE FELLOWSHIP GOSPEL MINISTRIES, INC. School of Religion and Seminary was going to award her Rev. Dr. Jacqueline Stevens (“Rev. Stevens”) began her evangelistic ministry during the mid-1980s. Although there were requests for her to be a guest speaker at various churches, there was a major emphasis on her music ministry.

Rev. Stevens started performing concerts and other solo engagements at churches and a Bar Mitzvah, often with orchestrated performance tapes. Her late godson, Eric Jones (“Rick”-bassist) asked if he, Mark Stevens, Jr. (drummer) and Ephraim Stevens (pianist) could provide her music accompaniment. But Rev. Stevens told them that they did not possess the skill level demanded for a professional performance. However, at a concert in New York, she did allow them to provide one accompaniment on her last song on the program. Although they performed with beginning skills, the three young men were determined to be the best.

MIRACLE FELLOWSHIP GOSPEL MINISTRIES, INC. God told Rev. Stevens to form the Ministry Board by saying “follow me”—no prerequisites, demands, labels, changing or force. She followed Jesus example when He accepted His disciples as they were, where they were, and who they were. This is the true meaning of Discipleship. As a result, a professional Board came

a Doctorate of Divinity Degree. The choir that she trained at their church paid for her graduation fees. The requirement of this Degree included preparing a Portfolio of all of Rev. Stevens’ ministry experience. While extensively preparing her portfolio, the questions designed caused Rev. Stevens to go inside of herself. This portfolio preparation was life changing in spirit and in truth—Rev. Stevens emerged and accepted the call as a ministry leader. As a result of this portfolio preparation, exploration, and deep pondering of the Holy Spirit that birthed the ministry of Miracle Fellowship Gospel Ministry, which was founded in July 2015 by Rev. together—Christians and Jews—to form this Ministry Board. With the direction of the Holy Spirit combined with their professional expertise, love and willingness to support Rev. Stevens, the Miracle Fellowship Ministry has launched into public ministry with the premise: God told Rev. Stevens “If I be lifted up, I’ll draw all men unto me.” All we do in this ministry is penetrate where we can as we are, used by the Master’s Hand--we let God do the rest. Our mission is to provide religious, charitable and humanitarian services through an evangelistic outreach ministry fellowship to all people. We strive to find common ground of human need to impact community relationships, which strengthen our global relationships. Although we all are different, we are one in spirit and unity. Through the presentation of our faith, service, and skills, we can touch the pulse of mankind. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16. As our ministry exemplifies the Biblical principles through serving the needs of the people by the Holy Spirit of God, He will regenerate, connect the bones of our communities, and establish His people. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to me. John 12:32. ONLINE GIVING Miracle Fellowship Gospel Ministries is a Non-Profit Public Charity 501(c)(3) Corporation. "JUST LIKE MY DAD" by Elizabeth Johnson & Tyrell Plair Winning the author of the year award was an absolute unexpected honor for me. Anytime I put my pen to paper it is to help, inspire and add to the literacy of the community I live in and the world. To be recognized for something that helps me to fulfill a purpose in my life, truly shows the grace of God and reiterates the fact that I am fulfilling my life’s purpose. When you can do something you enjoy and be recognized for doing it makes you want to go back and do more. By being recognized, it shows me that my dreams were right and this is how I can leave my mark on society. I was introduced to Tyrell Plair CEO of PlaTy Multimedia & Publishing with my own book of inspirational quotes for women. However, he came back and said that he had an opportunity for me to coauthor Just Like My Dad. Using my experience as an educator, the project was a perfect fit. Now 7 months after the release of the project, Just Like My Dad is under consideration for libraries and school curriculums. A workbook and a Spanish version are also in the works. It makes you really understand that when one door closes another will open. My experiences as both a mother and an educator were the inspirational drivers for the book. This coupled with Tyrell’s background in psychology allowed for a solid foundation to build the project. I was an educator prior to the Pandemic, I am currently studying to receive my bachelors degree in Organizational Management.

I believe that this degree will help me with future endeavors and it will also add to my story of persistence and accomplishing goals. I have not nor will I ever give up. Quitting is not an option. Just Like My Dad, through hard work and persistence, is now available in Brevard county libraries in Florida. When I’m not writing, I’m promoting our company’s projects and networking to help the company and its projects to reach global status. Tyrell Plair – CEO

Born in the windy city of Chicago, Illinois,

Tyrell Plair knew the wind would blow his way, even if he had to create the breeze. He took an interest in reading and writing at a young age, which led him to begin writing poetry for his classmates. Over the years, Tyrell honed his skills as a writer by ghostwriting novels, penning screenplays, and adding film directing to his repertoire. In 2019 he released his debut novel “Stolen Innocence” as an independent author. Realizing the struggles as an independent author, Tyrell decided to write and produce books as a business, thus forming “PlaTy Multimedia & Publishing.”

When not fulfilling his role as Chief Operating Officer of Platy Multimedia, you can find Tyrell locked in on a game of chess, fishing, or enjoying his family and friends.

GIFT OF ANOTHER BREATH - A MIRACLE Angella Dixon-Watson

What would you do if you heard knee jerking words "You have aggressive Pancreatic Cancer, already in your lymph nodes and the Oncology team will discuss your treatment protocol?" What thoughts would be racing through your mind? I promptly wrote my Celebrating the Life of Angie Program and identified participants. I knew that my family and friends would do a grand Repast featuring excellent Caribbean cuisine with steel drum and reggae musicians playing song "How Great Thou Art." Frankly, my husband, Ira and I were speechless -- felt ambushed! HERE'S THE BACKDROP TO MY 5 YEAR JOURNEY WITH GOD HOLDING MY HANDS In Spring 2016, I had my annual physical and was pleased that I had perfect health. Four weeks later I suddenly started experiencing 3 symptoms: Itchy skin, Jaundice and Rapid

MOGUL LEADER MAGAZINE | PAGE 20

If experiencing unusual symptoms "Don't Self Diagnose." If your doctor is unsure what's happening, be your own advocate ask for a scan, endoscopy or change doctor. Your Life is Worth Saving! FEW POSSIBLE SYMPTOMS FOR EARLIER DETECTION Loss of appetite, abdominal pain, changes in bowel movement, sudden onset of diabetes OR your well controlled diabetes is changing; jaundice, itchy skin, digestive problems, sudden weight loss and you are not dieting (my weight decreased from 164 to 127 lbs). Proverbs 18:15: "An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge and understanding." For reliable information, visit www.letswinpc.org With surgery and recovery successful, treatment options were discussed. I hesitated doing treatment. My premise was "I knew no one who survived PC so why torture myself." My Oncologist intuitively said "Why don't you give treatment a try because your result may be different from others?" I replied, "If I don't do treatment, how much time would I have?" and she said "Up to six months." My treatment included chemo and radiation over 7-1/2 months. God's word says "I will get what I speak" Proverbs 18:21. When I started taking chemo,: I used to speak "I'm going to take this poison" BUT God quickly reminded me to change my language and I started speaking "I'm going to take my healing medicine." Since God took me off all treatment

protocols as of April 2017, I take communion by myself with whatever I have at home. Here's why? I need the Blood of Jesus to keep me Quarantined. He bore our symptoms and sicknesses at the cross so that we may have health and wholeness. In addition, before drinking my herb teas or smoothies; I'll say aloud "Let the healing waters flow through my body this is a supplement but you are the healer" and ABBA, our father, performed a miracle. Heavenly father I thank you for not allowing me to destroy myself with my own words. During the interim of 5 years through July 2021, I received 13 No cancer found reports: THYROID, HEART, BONES NORMAL. NO DISEASE IN THE CHEST, LIVER, ABDOMEN, PELVIS, ADRENALS, SPLEEN NORMAL. BOTTOMLINE: NO NEW, NO PROGRESSIVE, NO METASTATIC DISEASE FOUND. Deuteronomy 31:8 "Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” In addition to traditional treatment, believing God's healing promises, adopting healthy diet and lifestyle changes are keys to healing, along with a positive mental attitude. My next annual appointment is July 2022 and possible discharge. There is no standard protocol to keep seeing me and I don't have cancer. One member on the Oncology team told me

"My recovery is a miracle." Another said "In 15 years at the hospital only 3 made it to 5 years and I'm one of the 3." "To God be the Glory, Great Things He has Done." AS A BELIEVER IN THE WORD, I speak Nahum 1:9 “Sickness and disease shall not return a 2nd time. It's “NOT MY DESTINY.” Psalms 147: 3: "He heals broken hearts and bandages all wounds." Psalms 23:6 "Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life." During my darkest days I started journaling, which got me out of a melancholy mindset. Ira, who instantly became my primary caregiver; grandkids Cierra and Chase, children Dino and Raquel-Ann, daughter-in-law Cristy, family and friends motivated me. Dino's facebook post was a jaw dropper: "My mom had whipple surgery last month. Today we have found out the cancer has spread and she is battling pancreatic cancer. I have to hope that my mom can recover even though the odds aren't good. I have to wonder what's worse, losing a parent in the blink of an eye or watching them slowing leaving you."

Grace and Glory Ministry Growing up I always was taught that Jesus is the reason for the season. Every time around Christmas I and my husband Bro Frankie and my kids come together and decorate the Christmas tree. My kids love to play old-school Christmas music like silent night. But we love to teach them about the birth of Jesus Christ. And also to spread Joy to other's that are less fortunate. We love to go feed the needy as a pastor I want them to know the joy behind giving to others. As a pastor and leader displaying love and meekness is the Godly way to show passion to others. Our ministry was birth from God. The Name of my Ministry is Grace and Glory Ministry. The vision of our Ministry is touching the hearts of many through grace. We as believers of Christ have to spread joy and peace. The bible says in Nehemiah 8:10 The Joy of the Lord is our strength so as we face this world, we are not facing it alone. And, that is what brings joy to my family's heart. My husband gives back to others in many ways, in the surrounding neighborhoods he gives a helping hand to the elders with cleaning and tidying up their yards.

We know that we could not do anything without God and we give God all the glory. And sometimes when the trials and tribulations come God reminds us that joy comes in the morning. Going out and spreading the joy, peace, and love of God is the reason for the season. Through all the gift-giving, tree trimming, Christmas dinners, gathering together, and even everything that comes with this joyous season, we know that Jesus is the ultimate Gift, and if we find that in our hearts we will always be blessed. Let love draw us together.

This is us

Bishop Walter and Dr. Stephanie Daniels For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, Plans to Prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you Hope and a Future. Jeremiah 29:11 Bishop Walter and Dr. Stephanie Daniels probably would have never met, had it not been for what they believe to be the hand of God. They lived in two different areas and came from different upbringings. The likelihood of the two of them crossing paths was slim. It just so happened that after her working at a local restaurant for 2 years and him working at a factory in the same town for 4 years they would be introduced to each other. Mutual friends and coworkers thought that the two would make a good fit. At first, she was hesitant and didn’t want to lose friendship over a possible bad relationship. She decided to go through with the “set up” and the two met on a Tuesday night in March 1994. Stephanie was a high-school senior with plans of leaving the small town for college and building a life for herself. The two meeting would change their lives from that point on. It was amazing to see how life was manifesting answers to a prayer that was prayed by a little girl around the age of 6 or 7. God was doing the miraculous! Stephanie was never seeking or thinking about marriage at such a young age. Besides, she was only 18, still in high school and planning on pursuing college. On the other hand, Walter was thinking the total opposite. “I’m going to marry you. You’re going to be my wife”, are the words that he spoke on a few occasions. After dating for 5 months, they got engaged. The relationship received positive acknowledgement from both of their families. They were married June of the following year.

Bishop Walter and Dr. Stephanie have been graced to serve at Loving Kindness Outreach Ministries for the past 20 years. All in His timing and according to His plan. Bishop Daniels is the founding pastor of the ministry. God gave him the name of the ministry because that would be the mission, to do ministry with love and kindness. To draw the people of the community to Christ through that same love, that same kindness. The birthplace of LKOM was their living room. They grew from the living room to their sunroom and later to a rented chapel. Not long after, God allowed this young ministry to purchase land for the erection of a new edifice. God Had Been Faithful! God has continued to allow a faithful group of servants to serve with them in ministry. God’s plans and purpose for the Daniels continues to be revealed and the hand of God over their lives is apparent. The past 26 years of marriage have been nothing short of amazing. Their life has been blessed to be used by God as they have grown together over the years. Who knew the process of becoming one would cause the hand of God to design the two into who they are today? God purposed the two love and grow together and to stand firmly on the words they each declared before her pastor: to love and honor each other whether sick or healthy, rich or poor! By the Grace, Faithfulness and Love of God, Together, They Built a Life They Love!

God continued to manifest in the lives of Walter and Stephanie. Who knew just how much He would foster the marriage and allow the couple to grow and mature together in love, faith and family? God gave them both hope and a future. They served faithfully in ministry and grew spiritually as they built a life that they love. Walter supported and encouraged Stephanie as she pursued a degree in Early Childhood Education. Little did he know that this juncture would continue for years as a Bachelor’s Degree led to a Master’s Degree, a Specialist’s Degree and a Doctorate. He kept his promised to ensure that she did whatever she desired as it related to her education. Along the way Walter continued his education as well. He desired to return to school for Physical Therapy, adding to an Associate’s Degree in Electronics. Stephanie was happy to support her husband just as he had done for so long without growing visibly weary. They have both worked and served in their respective careers ever since. God has blessed Walter and Stephanie with 2 daughters that they adore: Akelah Denae and Akevia Shenae. MOGUL LEADER MAGAZINE | PAGE 23

By Annette E Mann/Darlington MD. You do not need a photographic picture of ME; it's what's inside of me that counts. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 "All prayers must be based on Love." Any time we pray, we should search our hearts for the true motives behind our requests. Are our prayers motivated by greed or by love.?? Without love, can bless, will not be answered because it is not according to faith. Faith works through love, which pleases GOD. He then rewards that faith. My name is Annette E. Mann, a country girl born a raised. I went to Darlington Elementary school, went to Bel Air Middle school, and then to high school at Havre De Grace Senior High School. I was a tomboy and loved my sports, basketball, softball, flag football. I live with my mother, Edna M Dorsey, and grandmother Pearline Dorsey my two best friends. My grandmother has passed on; God bless her soul. It's funny where life takes you after school. My first event was to join the Army, the Maryland National Guard. From this point on, these events were a significant life change for me. I went in thinking that it would make me a better and wiser person. Little did I know about color barriers between white and black. I am a high engine person and love my work to be a part of a team that my grandmother taught me. MOGUL LEADER MAGAZINE | PAGE 24

She always says that regardless of a person's color or how they are treating you, you must take the high road. It was hard at times, and I have often pushed around and stepped on many times. But, the Maryland National Guard made me stronger, wiser, and understanding and looking thru a lens that was so spiritual and devotional that it bend but would not break. It was so clear God had a plan for me going thru my military life. Here I had to bring my mother out of me, being hard and not take things personally but staying force on my part in doing my job. I graduated from AIT- military school. For me, military life in Kuwait tests every part of me mentally, physically, spiritually, and way down deep inside of me. It was a world beyond your imagination, at least for me. I don't think I will look at life the same for the rest of my life. I can say that in Kuwait OIF/OEF, period, my guarding angles shield me from all harm or foul play. When I prayed, he answered with a positive favor, all ways.

Although I made have been hurt, I still stand. I may seem broken in so many ways. But something or someone keeps whispering in my ears to will past, get up, and put one foot in front of the other, and I will do the rest. My journey is still going on sent I got out of the Army even though I may still have some changes in some areas of my life. I got closer to my higher being, always believe that something extraordinary is about to happen; I'm rejoicing in what I have and embrace what is to come with a grateful, open heart to all that I meant and deal with threw out my day. Yes, I am thankful for making it back home from Kuwait and, I'm going to try my best and not complain about the journey that I am on. First, I will pray about the situation. Second, I will evaluate what the bible says. Third I will allow and accept "God's help all the time. The fourth thing I will choose to have faith and, last but not least, is to encourage myself and others.

I am STRONGER than I appear to be, Braver than what I look like, and only SMARTER than God makes me be. I do not depend on shortcuts in my life. Instead, I rely on God's Law of Divine Order.

So now I am a VSO (veterans service officer). I am always giving back to my community and making veterans' lives a little easier for them, and hopefully giving a smile or two to let them know I have been there too. I leave you with this. Namun and Rhasheeda

Ministry and Love

Namun and Rhasheeda Hague are a married couple who have been together for the past fourteen years. Our three children, Naaman, Hadassah and Israel round out our immediate family. We are a family that is growing, developing, and aspiring to help encourage other families not only in their daily living, but also in their lives before the Lord. Within our ministry, Wisdom for the Wilderness, we focus on building the family unit. Our heart is to instill faith and confidence within each family member. Then the family as a whole will be helped as each member is fulfilled and complete. We desire to affectionately generate cohesion among the household of faith as well as ethnically. Our hearts are knit with people, especially younger men and women. By inspiring the next generation, it allows hope to flow immensely. And by loving the next generation, we encourage positive change. Wisdom For the Wilderness is about building families. We want to emphasize wholeness and have the entire family unit to work and correspond together. We desire to challenge the family to set some goals and then achieve them. Through making deeper connections, engaging in the word of God, focusing on effective communication and the willingness to honor one another, we bridge gaps and open doors which can heal the family. The entire family benefits when there is structure, order and purpose. That is when families grow and develop cohesively rather than apart. This brings everyone together. This is what Wisdom for the Wilderness desires to give; families the opportunity to accomplish great things. Growing is always learning, so there are always going to be some form of adjusting or tweaking that must be done. Truly, we do have a good understanding of one another and how to flow together. Rhasheeda, my wife, is typically going to lead with commentary or activity that correlates to an individual’s heart. There have been times with just a hug, she has been able to break through self imposed walls and barriers to expose the root of a matter. She contends to extract what is really going on within a person. Not that she is moved by tears or emotion, but that usually results from her correspondence with an individual. I, Namun, can be identified through my speech. The tone and the texture of not only my voice, but my words all change. The intensity and overall deliberation becomes ratcheted up. My mannerisms and gestures are very demonstrative. The most important aspect of flowing together is not having to be seen or to be in the spotlight. It is allowing the Holy Spirit the freedom to operate and move through whomever he

deems necessary. If it is her, then I back up, I yield. If it is me then she relinquishes her position. We both want the Lord to have his way. Our romantic endeavors evolved as we were attending the same church and actively participating in the same areas of ministry. We knew of each other, but thus far, there was no attraction between the two of us. All this changed when one day I, Namun, was coming up to the entryway of the church when the Lord had begun to reveal Rhasheeda to me. After that, I had begun to pursue her. I was attracted to her much like Hosea was to Gomer. For the first time concerning her, I spoke fluently with her. This was significant because my practice was to keep conversations with women short and sweet. I was so engaged and involved in the conversation that I remained close to her for nearly an hour. I only became more intoxicated by her from there. Since I strive to be unique and different, I began writing notes in calligraphy and leaving them tucked under the windshield wipers of her car. On occasion, I would even leave a flower sometimes bundled in the note. After I had done this over the course of several weeks, she went and reported my activities to our pastor. He discussed with her that it was okay and that I was a good brother. She then asserted herself. She approached me and let me know that she had no time for games. If we were to seriously start seeing one another, we would go on a three day fast to hear from the Lord to ensure that this union is from Him. In my mind, three days were no challenge for me. I already knew who she was to me and most importantly I knew that I couldn’t see living my life without her. Following the completion of the fast, we began dating. After several months of strengthening our bonds, we were ready to set a date. Due to the timing and availability of our location and pastor, we settled for the day after our birthdays. This led to the coining of the phrase “Happy Annibirthery” (thank you DeDeauxs’). Over the last set of years as a couple, we have really begun to hit our stride. We have come closer than we have ever been. The most powerful change took place when I, Namun, began to communicate more intently. I purposed to share all of myself. Previously I attempted to protect myself from hurt and in a way establish control by limiting what I released. Simultaneously, I attempted to bury my flaws, but like with any mess, given time, it was revealed. That forced me to get before the Lord and determine, the husband, father, minister and collectively, the man that I wanted to be. Now, since that change has taken place, revelation has been the driving force for our marriage. We not only hear one another’s concerns, but we have determined to put a great deal of attention on what the Lord is saying to us. Also, along the same line of thinking, we have “placed everything at Christ’s everything” (acronym for PEACE Matthew 15:30). We are determined not to work independently of Him. We are agreeing with Him and with each other. This has ultimately led to a more peaceful and productive marriage and way of life. Within our home we have a motto: “Give yourself every opportunity to succeed.” In this we mean to eliminate excuses. We want to always be moving towards our goal and to not let so called barriers stand in our way. Time is the measurement of life, but if we are not mindful and calculating how we use it, we lose it. And with its loss comes the loss of opportunities. Everyone is full of potential, but how many people miss out on opportunities because of the amount of time they have wasted. Proverbs 11:1 says that: “A false balance is an abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.” So, knowing this, we must take advantage of the times and opportunities that lay before us. We must seize the day. MOGUL LEADER MAGAZINE | PAGE 27

She enjoys working in the ministry alongside her husband, Earnest L Fisher, coowner. Dorothy is also a teacher, dancer, worshipper, and an ordained minister of the gospel, and she carries a strong prophetic healing anointing in healing those who are sick and ill. DSHOM was birth out of a desire to help mankind to achieve his optimum level of health and wellbeing in every area of his life. All too often, the current health care system focuses on the physically or mentally aspect of man’s being and overlook the spiritual aspect. DHSOM believes that all three aspects of man’s being must be addressed and integrated accordingly if man is to achieve optimum well-being and true happiness. Along with her own personal experience of overcoming health challenges, Dorothy brings to the firm 33 years of work experience in the medical nursing profession. Dorothy has worked 25 of those years as a nurse practitioner.

She managed and treated patients with various mental and physical conditions ranging from anxiety depressive disorder to respiratory infections and chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and heart disease. All too often in her professional career, Dorothy witnessed patients being healed in one area of their lives, but not in another. Some took medications and were not healed and remained unhappy. Because of that, it has been Dorothy’s desire to act as a healthcare consultant and an inspirational speaker to many persons, businesses, organizations, by addressing the mindsets and belief systems that prevents men from experiencing true health, happiness and freedom. DHSOM remains different from other healthcare consulting firms. It incorporates the Word of God with divine healing in the overall healthcare of man’s being in spirit, soul and body. Family For The Holiday Prophetess Kelly Crews

Each family is different. We all have our own unique traditions and ways to bond. Some families are tiny, some are huge, some invite nothing but warmth and safety, and some are full of strained relationships and resentment. Still, for most of us, spending holidays with family is important and usually the perfect time to enjoy their company. Covid has put such a strain on connecting and sharing hugs and inperson moments. Now, more than ever, it is critical to stay connected to our families and let them know how much they mean to us. While I am in ministry and it is my passion, I decided a long time ago that my family is my first ministry. I need to be available for milestones, birthday parties, celebrations and holidays. I have two wonderful children and three beautiful grandchildren and I love seeing them laugh, smile and enjoy life. Even though my life can be very busy, it’s important for me to stop and think about what’s really important and that’s spending quality time with the people I love, showing love and gratitude, spreading warmth and smiles – all that and much more, including disconnecting from everyday stresses and pressure. If we are honest with ourselves, we all have time to step away from normal responsibilities and prioritize the ones we love the most. Family time gives us a chance to demonstrate our deepest values. What better time to teach the values we cherish, than in the time we spend with our loved ones. Leading a family during the Christmas season is one of the most important roles that we can take. Whether you are a mother, father, son or daughter, you can contribute to the strength of your family. If you are single, or currently without children, keep in mind that your contribution to the church community is also a family experience. Making the decision to make family a priority is available to everyone. MOGUL LEADER MAGAZINE | PAGE 31

Finding victory in your family experience means setting priorities, as well as seeking a new perspective on a daily basis. Whether you came from a very loving and super close family or you face a difficult and complex situation this Christmas, focus on this truth: “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD Himself, is the Rock eternal.” Isaiah 26:3-4 We can never avoid strife in the world around us, but we can choose to fix our thoughts on God. When we make this choice, God promises us perfect peace, even in difficult times. The above scripture counsels us to focus our minds on God and His Word. As we do this, our mind becomes steady and stable. This stability can become a powerful influence in any family situation. I encourage you to take time to sit and reflect on how special your family is to you. Set aside time this holiday season and make some new memories.

appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death (Prov. 14:12). Balancing family and ministry might seem like an oxymoron because at the end of the day, family is first, and balance doesn’t always seem feasible. No matter how hard it seems, the Bible admonishes us in 1 Timothy 5:8, “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” I keep this in mind and work towards including my family in ministry. One of the ways I include them is by bringing them with me when I travel, including them in the planning and organizing of evangelistic work and allowing them to be a part of it when possible. I believe that as my children get older and are exposed to various assignments and territories, they will develop an understanding that will last a lifetime that can be passed on to their families. Working alongside my husband allows for an increase in understanding as well regarding the time and commitment needed to do the work.

Family

AND MINISTRY

Throughout the scriptures we see God’s design for the family as the foundational institution of society ordained by God. It is constituted by marriage and is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood or adoption. While it consists of such, what makes a family unique and what keeps things interesting is the fact that each member comes with their own unique characteristics, talents, etc. Oftentimes we can forget this and attempt to ask of marriage and family what God never intended for it to give, which is a conflict free, perfect life. In Luke 12 we see a description of division as it applies to family. Jesus said in Luke 12:51-53, “Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” This is more than a description, but a promise of things that we would see. In the challenges that my family has faced, one thing that has kept us is the Word. My husband does very well in looking through the redemptive eyes of Christ when there are challenges whether they are in the immediate or external family. I can attest to having experienced challenges in my family, but if it were not for the Word, I like many others would have settled things my own way. Thankfully, the Bible cautions us of the fact that there is a way that MOGUL LEADER MAGAZINE | PAGE 33

Right now, adhering to a schedule is key. Everything that I do from recording to writing books is done at night when my family is asleep. This is a sacrifice, but when I look back at those sleepless nights and all that has been accomplished thus far, it has been well worth it. What keeps me grounded is knowing that parents have the primary responsibility and God-given authority to teach their children. On days when I feel like slacking, I remember that it is not only a responsibility, but a privilege to bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, that they may come to know Christ (Eph. 6:4). I am reminded that parents are responsible for their children's general education (Gal. 4:1-2 ) as well as their spiritual and theological education (Deut. 6:6-9, Prov. 1:7). On top of ministry, I work from home and teach my two children Malachi who is 4 and Jael who is 2. Our days and weekends are filled with learning, playtime and worship. They love messianic worship music and even sing in Hebrew. I often find Malachi and Jael lifting their hands and singing Kadosh which means holy in Hebrew. Malachi worships everywhere we go and Jael dances and is now making her own songs unto the Lord. I realize the significance of the impartation they receive from me as well as from the atmosphere we try to maintain in our home. My husband is great with doing Bible study with the kids while making it fun and engaging. As a team, we work to bring the kingdom into our home so the presence of God becomes their reality and for all who may enter.

Derrol and Dr. Corene

Derrol and Dr. Corene Johnson are taking the world by storm! They were joined in Holy matrimony in July of 2018 and have been an unstoppable force. You may ask what does a power couple represent? A power couple is a couple who both compliments each other's strengths and supports each other's individuality. They are considered role models when it comes to relationships. Dr. Corene Johnson has a marriage ministry entitled, “Teach Me How to Love You!” She shares that platform often with her husband as they empower other couples to have godly and healthy marital relationships. As a power couple they come together in their relationship and manage to empower one another instead of dragging one another down. Derrol and Corene alike have had previous marriages that have failed, so they truly have learned to encourage and love each other unconditionally. In order to be a power couple, you have to be 100% invested in your relationship, and that will only bring about more love between the two of you. In the land of social media, we can all look at other people's relationships and think they are better than ours, focusing on what we don't have. MOGUL LEADER MAGAZINE | PAGE 34

Dr. Johnson encourages married couples to be content with their spouse and give them grace to grow in the relationship. If you desire to have a great marriage you must consistently walk in forgiveness and stop concentrating on their deficiencies and focus in on the things that they do well. A Power couple consist of “Two complete, whole people, which equals one happy couple.” A good partner also is godly, honest, respectful, loyal, forgiving, and humble. They have “the capability to provide unconditional love.” What makes a strong relationship? A strong relationship can be considered a team. You work together and support each other, even when you don't see eye to eye on something or have goals that aren't exactly the same. In short, you have each other's back. You know you can turn to them when you're struggling. Of course, I saved the best element of a power couple for last. Every couple wanting to do marriage right must understand that since God designed marriage in the first place, He must be at the center. As Psalm 127:1 tells us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it” (Psalm 127:1). But how does that look in daily life? Here are five essentials for making your marriage thrive: 1.Be thankful for your spouse. Your spouse is a gift from God just as surely as Eve was a gift to Adam (Genesis 2:20-24)—created to help meet your needs as a partner in life. But the demands of life, family, and work can cloud your attitude. Thanking God often for your spouse is a practical way to focus on what is good and admirable about him or her. It is helpful to occasionally reflect on the early days and recall what attracted you, on what made you pledge your life and love to each other, and to be thankful. 2. Practice communicating from the heart. It is vital to communicate authentically in both the good and the difficult times of marriage. As you grow together, you will learn more about the how and when of communicating well with your spouse, so pay attention to what works and what doesn’t. Transparent conversation, where each of you risks revealing your deepest thoughts, ideas, fears, hopes, and dreams, creates the strong foundation of a lasting marriage.

The Scriptures emphasize being open and vulnerable in communication. Paul modeled transparency when he wrote to the Corinthians, many of whom were not exactly his admirers: “For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote you with many tears; not that you should be made sorrowful, but that you might know the love which I have especially for you” (2 Corinthians 2:4). Paul was not afraid to weep or say, “I love you.” Jesus wept over the death of Lazarus (John 11:35) and lamented His rejection by hard-hearted .)Jerusalem (Luke 13:34 3. Be intimate. From relational intimacy springs sexual intimacy. The safety of being known and still being accepted—in spite of our flaws—finds its expression in marriage through sex. It is a gift to married couples from God; it is where we express complete, unashamed oneness (Genesis 2:24-25). Relational and sexual intimacy keeps a marriage from deteriorating into little more than a legally arranged partnership. Remember, it takes time and attentiveness to nurture this kind of relationship. 4. Practice the power of forgiveness. Because we are broken, imperfect human beings, we will fail our spouse repeatedly. We will focus on flaws, cease to communicate, and offend each other without trying. All of this demands a steady supply of forgiveness. The Bible tells us to “be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32). There is great power in forgiveness—it says, “The fight is over, and I will not try to punish you.” Failing marriages can be revived by forgiveness; healthy marriages are sustained by it.

5. Be teachable. Marriages are always a work in progress. Each spouse is changing and developing, which means there are new things to learn at every age. Sometimes marriages run into problems that need the help of a third party. If this happens in your marriage, find someone who will work in support of your marriage, not just agree with your grievances. Make sure this person is committed to both Christ and the two of you. As you break from the noise of your day to reflect on the ways God is blessing you through the life of your spouse, we pray that your heart will be filled with gratitude for this gift—someone for you to love and someone to love you—fashioned by the Creator especially for you. We pray God will show you ways to express your heart openly to your spouse so the two of you will grow even closer. We pray that you will enjoy intimacy of soul and body and that your passion becomes fuller and deeper each day. And we pray that the love in your marriage will be so real, so vibrant, so lasting that all who see it will know God gave this love to you.

In 1 8 short, there is no question that the corona virus pandemic, after triggering a global recession as numerous countries went into lockdown, has left us feeling vulnerable and uncomfortable much like other countries around the world. Now in the wake of many recent eye-opening events that have dominated the headlines, the entire world’s eyes are upon the USA. Historic prejudice and repressive governments, peering through the lens of many activists abroad, are sounding the alarm. Cynical voices, including critics of the U.S., have questioned Washington’s authority to talk about human rights internationally. The chaotic insurrectionist attempt on the US Capitol building that occurred in January 2021, caused World leaders to react with horror when then US president Donald J. Trump and his supporters refused to accept that he had lost the November’s presidential election. People around the world continued watching in horror when on January 13th, the first sitting president of the United States of America, ever to be impeached twice, was charged with inciting the US Capitol insurrection. Many Americans are frightened for our country – so many angry, mean, emboldened divided people. Indeed, it does make one wonder – what next? Many are asking what to do when constantly seeing chaos, hearing bad news, feeling uncertainty, facing difficulties, living in fear. They question our values. What if the world’s leading democracy refuses to honor its values, they argue – then what is the point? If the highest office in the world is no longer honorable, if the greatest decision making authority in the world is confused,

if the halls of Congress are darkened, if the supreme court is tainted, if you cannot trust the government, if you cannot trust the law enforcement, cannot trust what you hear online, if you cannot trust the news media – then, I ask again, what are you to do? With very little appreciation for the other guy and every man following his own tradition, questions are popping up all over social media. If you are stressed about the possibility of contracting the virus or have loved ones affected by it, what should you do?

5)Review life. Some people think a pandemic is just a biological event and that there's no master plan at work, and no grand purpose. No matter your beliefs, take inventory of your life over these recent months and seize the chance to clarify meaning and purpose of life for you. 6)Revisit past desires, hopes, dreams. As bad as pandemics are and trouble on this earth may be, hell is a lot worse. Although the last few years have worn people out in almost every way with much disruption, discouragement, and depression, the Christian, should not panic. The assurance of salvation and the hope of eternity still stands. Even with shrinking church congregations, gatherings, ministries, and finances, we should be the least worried people on earth. (Isaiah 53:5; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 9:28)

Simple techniques to adopt in our everyday living to for life’s enjoyment. 1.Simply stop and breathe unless someone is chasing you with a knife. Good breathing exercises are always a winner but choosing to stop in the middle of the street is probably not a wise thing to do so avoid your nemesis or antagonist at all costs. 2.Learn your triggers but don’t tell your enemy. While your kids may recognize the beginning signs of your headache, you may not want to let your arch rival know your weaknesses. Rather than letting stress take hold, refuse to go into panic mode. It could save your life. 3.Slow down unless you’re being chased by a bear. If you are a living roller coaster, it may feel exhilarating but if

not properly maintained, you can expect trouble. It is that simple. You cannot stay in high gear forever like an energizer battery, even if you feel like you can on forever. 4.Stay grounded unless it’s unbearable. There is nothing wrong with being grounded but sometimes it’s boring. Once in awhile you need to do something to ease the moment. 5.Put it in writing unless it will incriminate you. Too much on your plate to do? Your brain can't store it all so get rid of it by making a checklist. Solicit someone else’s help. You cannot do it all—nor should you have to tackle everything alone. 6.Safeguard what enters through your eye and ear gates. Stop watching bad news –it’s a stress builder. Learn to filter everything that comes your way. God wants us to not worry (Philippians 4:6) but watching the news tempts us all to worry. Counterbalance what we see and listen to, with what God says.Toss it out if it does not measure up to His standards. 7.Step outside under the big blue skies and go for a walk. One thing I’ve incorporated in

my life is making sure I either step outside onto my deck or I take a walk each day. It makes me look up at the trees, the clouds, the abundance of birds and everything of beauty. BIRTH OUT OF THE FIRE By Lisa Harris Photos by The trees stood tall in the night sky. On the last night of Girl Scout camp, by a large campfire, each scout shared her gifts and talents as a thank you and a goodbye. The night before, I asked God: “What should I share and what's my gift?” I always loved writing, and under the stars, He gave me words to a poem titled, Camp Goodbye. The poem was a thank you, a celebration of the scout experience, and my hopes for our future. It was received with tears. In my spirit, I knew God would use the power of words prayerfully, to encourage, inspire, comfort, laugh, educate, question, love and celebrate. Writing frees me. I connect with who I know myself to be along with discovering the unexplored parts. My words are my true self. They express my joy, pain, fears, possibilities, and the sensuality of my soul as a person and as a woman. I find joy in writing plays, scripts, short stories, and poems for people and events. I grew up in Elizabeth, New Jersey with two beautiful parents, Barbara and Charles Harris. They grew up poor and determined to create a better life for their daughter, family and community. My mom did not go to college but as a leader in Elizabeth's Women's Scholarship Club, she raised money for girls to attend college. My father attended Delaware State College after leaving the Army. For more than forty years, he dedicated his life to education. He was a teacher, administrator, and civil rights activist. They truly made a difference. My words are shaped by my upbringing, a passion for people and a purpose greater than self. I attended Hampton University as an undergraduate. My love of writing was fueled by my senior thesis for Mass Media Arts, a “must pass” assignment to graduate. My thesis was titled, The Psychological and Sociological Impact of The Wiz and The Wizard of Oz. Through research, I discovered that very little statistical data and analysis comparing and questioning elements of each movie existed. Honing my skills

to complete my thesis established the foundation of my poetic work and gave rise to poems such as I Knew I Was Different, Ventilator and many others. To this day, every time I hear Diana Ross sing "Brand New Day" or Lena Horne belt out "Believe in Yourself," I am always inspired. I am also a proud and active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and its commitment to serving our communities. After graduation, I held various leadership positions at Ford Motor Company while also pursuing an MBA, which I received from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Notably, I wrote and read a poem for the dean and my classmates at graduation. od's Temple of Holy Praise

Pastor Ervin Flanders & Prophetess Viola Flanders

Pastor Ervin and Prophetess Viola Flanders received Christ as their personal Savior and were filled with the Holy Spirit, evidence by the speaking of tongues, at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in 1985 during a revival ministered by the late Apostle Wille J. Flanders of God’s Temple of Holy Praise in Rochester, New York. Knowing their desire for the sincere milk of God’s word, Apostle Flanders released them into the hands of God’s Tabernacle under Evangelist Carrie Bell where they were faithful stewards and disciples for seven years. In 1985, Pastor and Prophetess Flanders received their callings of Pastor and Prophetess from God and received confirmation through the laying on of hands by Evangelist Carrie Bell. In 1992, they returned to Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church where Pastor Flanders served as a Deacon and Prophetess Flanders sang in the choir. While attending Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Prophetess Flanders in accordance with 2 Timothy 1:6 began to stir up the gift of God which she received by the laying on of hands and allowed God to birth out the Wailing Women Ministry in 2002. In her obedience to God, the ministry flourished with 27 women. Of those women, many received salvation, spiritual healing, and deliverance which were evidenced by the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. In 2004, God mandated Pastor Flanders to walk in the call of Pastor and he went decently to Pastor David Brewer, Dr. and shared with him the divine calling God had on his life. Soon after Minister of Music Lashawnda Flanders, Evangelist Stacie Rogers, Prophetess Tiffany Jones, and Prophetess Varnyetta Porter, who were birthed out in the Wailing Women Ministry, were chosen by God to help fulfill the mandate God gave Pastor Flanders and to serve as laborers of the ministry. Being called out to build the ministry under the covering of the late Apostle Willie J. Flanders and Pastor Angelina Flanders, God’s Temple of Holy Praise #2 was established and functioning as a body under the leadership of Pastor Ervin and Prophetess Viola Flanders in July 2005. MOGUL LEADER MAGAZINE | PAGE 51

On August 28, 2005, God blessed the ministry with favor through Reverend C.J. Henry and Mrs. Catherine Henry, who divinely provided the first church home located at 305 Spring Creek Road, Bainbridge, Georgia 39817. A divine appointment to be installed was set for September 11, 2005, at Solid Rock under the Pastorship of Derwin Inlow. On October 22, 2006, Pastor Ervin and Prophetess Viola Flanders were ordained at Christ Tabernacle of the Living Word under the leadership of Bishop Kelvin D. Wells, Sr. After much fasting and praying for their own sanctuary, the ministry received a breakthrough on November 15, 2007, through Realtor Reese Rollins with

Miller Griffin Realty. God soon granted the ministry financial favor through Mrs. Debra Middleton with First Port City Bank and closing occurred on January 11, 2008. Renovations began with the gutting out, tearing down, and adding on of walls. The building was turned into a fiveroomed sanctuary with a hallway, proper flooring, carpeting, walls, sheet rock, ceilings, lighting and fixtures, electrical outlets, new air conditioning and heating unit, new doors, and windows. The furnishings were prayerfully picked, chosen, and placed inside the sanctuary. Being led by God, the sanctuary was decorated by Prophetess Flanders and all the women of God’s Temple of Holy Praise #2. Through a fast called by God through Pastor and Prophetess Flanders, a date was set to dedicate the sanctuary, the furnishings, the leaders, and the members to God for His purpose and the up building of His Kingdom. In 2016, under the leadership of Pastor and Prophetess Flanders a new adult praise team was established, additional ushers were added to the ministry; an additional Sunday school class was added, and the Unity Hall was added.

Gospel Artist

oel McCray

THE PRODUCER AND ARTIST

BY JOEL MCCRAY He was only 18-months old when he began to play recognizable melodies. According to his mother, Joel McCray never banged on the keys of the piano. He would take a few fingers to explore the different sounds. However, at 18 months old, his mother began to recognize the melodies. Joel was the son of a Baptist preacher, Roosevelt McCray, and an evangelist and church music minister, Ruby McCray. Thus, as the saying goes, “whenever the doors of the church were open” the McCrays were there. While carrying him in her womb, Ms. McCray would sit and play at the piano and pray over her unborn child that her baby would be anointed with the gift of music. Ms. McCray’s prayers did not go unanswered. Before Joel turned two, she discovered that he could not only pick out the melodies he heard at church, but he was actually playing the melodies in the same key. By the age of five, Ms. McCray created a music studio in their home to start giving piano lessons. In 1975, Joel became one of her first students. It was around 1976 that Ms. McCray found herself struggling with a few of the chord progressions of the great song “Be Grateful” by Walter Hawkins. To her surprise, she heard her young six-year-old playing the song like a polished pro. It was then, at the age of six, that Joel started playing for the adult choir on Sunday mornings. His feet dangling from the piano bench or resting on an empty box of ginger snap cookies, Joel began his career of being a church musician. He studied classical, gospel, ragtime, and contemporary music through his mother’s home-school of music. Through Ms. McCray’s teaching, he learned how to read music and understand classical theory which would become a significant anchor in his professional, music career. During his teenaged years, Joel McCray struggled to find his place in church music. The sounds that played in his head didn’t mirror the soul-stirring harmonies of traditional or contemporary gospel.

MOGUL LEADER MAGAZINE | PAGE 57

Joel was hearing harmonies in his mind that gave him chills; however, when he explored those harmonies during the singing of the church hymns, the mothers of the church were not having it. It was a weekly highlight to be able to hang out after church and play the piano until the deacons kicked you out. However, the consistent message Joel heard was that, God didn’t want that worldly music in the Lord’s house. That was the beginning of some very dark years. To add to the pressures of that anxiety, Joel’s parent ended up divorcing when he was 15 years old. It was then, Joel found himself completely lost, angry with his father, buried in racism at school, and unsure of what career path to take. For the first time in his life. Music was no longer an outlet, and the soundtrack of music in his mind went silent. Music was his inspiration, but Joel heard nothing. With every passing second, rage and resentment began to swell inside of Joel’s heart, but God had a ram in the bush. This would become Joel’s new love – track and field. At the sound of the gun, Joel could release his rage with each step down the track. That rage led him to district, regional, and state, high-school, 1A champion in the 100m, 200m, and long jump. His high school track accomplishments opened the door for him to get a full scholarship to the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), where he would become one of the most decorated athletes in UTA’s history with event championships, All-American status, a 1992 Olympic trials invitation, university records, and a Hall of Fame induction. He also graduated with honors and with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree focusing in Finance. However, upon graduating from UTA, the rage and resentment returned like a rogue wave. His track career was completed, and a career in music was nowhere in sight. Silence still occupied the seats of the vibrant orchestra that used to fill his mind. To add insult to injury, Joel found himself working a 9-5, corporate job at a large, commercial bank. Although he was thankful for a job, it did not align with his purpose or passion – music. The healing and realignment began once Joel had a time of reconciliation with his father. By letting go of the past hurt and unforgiveness, the flood of rage, resentment, and anxiety disappeared. The music began to play again in his mind, and inspiration soon returned. MOGUL LEADER MAGAZINE | PAGE 58

Joel eventually left banking and became a worship pastor for a few North Texas, mega churches. He served in that capacity for nearly 12 years until he decided to pursue his first love, composition, teaching, music directing and performing. Joel has been playing the piano for over 50 years, and has served in the local church for over 45 years. He has also produced several projects: New Beginnings (2000), Worship 2001 – He Reigns, Song for You (2003), Merry Christmas to You (2003), Christmas Joy (2008), The Invitation – a collaboration with Joseph Vincelli (2011), Sing The Word, a collaboration with his wife, Bridget McCray, Meritage (2013), Hymns Unplugged (2013), Cohesion (2015), Envision (2017), Love Poetry (2017), I’m All Yours (R&B) (2018), Merry Christmas to You, vol. 2 (2020), and Klassy – the single (2021). He has also produced and performed on many projects with other artists. He has performed with some amazing artists and musicians. They include, Kirk Franklin, Joseph Vincelli, Kirk Whalum, Darren Rahn, Marcus Anderson, Vandell Andrew, Tim Bowman, Peter White, Jazmin Ghent, and many more. Joel is the founder of J & B Music Ministries – a performance, production, and equipping company. He currently serves as director virtual of curriculum and lead teaching artist at The Artist Outreach, music director of Word of Truth Family Church of Arlington, keyboardist for the Joseph Vincelli Band, music director for Cool Jazz Forever, music director of Collin County Jazz Collective, and music director of Lola’s groove. Joel currently lives in Arlington, Texas with his amazing ,beautiful family, Bridget, his wife of over 22 years, and high schoolers Nicholas and Jada. As an educator, producer, coach, performer, and consultant, Joel’s purpose and passion is to help others live a fulfilled life of inspiration and purpose, of continual education, and effective execution.

While residing in the Great Northwest she won the “Tacoma Talent Quest” and knew at that point of her life knew she wanted to pursue the art of Stand Up Comedy. Things, however, took an interesting turn when her little family experienced one of the biggest Earthquakes ever recorded in the Great Northwest with a magnitude rector of 6.8 She began experiencing (what was later diagnosed as Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome) she decided to return to her hometown, Louisville, Kentucky with her three children. Simply” YOUR NEVER ALONE”, “GOD IS ABLE” you can make it through anything that faces you in life! It won't be easy but, ”YOU CAN!” Many are asking what to do when constantly seeing chaos, hearing bad news, feeling uncertainty, facing difficulties, living in fear. They question our values. What if the world’s leading democracy refuses to honor its values, they argue – then what is the point? If the highest office in the world is no longer honorable, if the greatest decision making authority in the world is confused,

Business And Ministry By Genesis

Business in my point of view is meeting people’s need Like a way of buying what people need then sell it to them to get profit from what you sold out Business is a broad term, but these profit-seeking activities generally include providing some kind of good or service that people want or need. Businesses may experience a loss, but that doesn't stop them from being a business. All that's important from the standpoint of defining a business is that the entity seeks to profit from what it does. Music is a business. Ministry is a business What is music? Music is a personality. The soul behind the music is that music "My music is the spiritual expression of what I am - my faith, my knowledge, my being ... When you begin to see the possibilities of music, your desire to do something really good for people, to help humanity free itself from its hangups ... I want to speak to their souls." Music was given to us to make the world a better place Without music this life will be empty. I am into music so this is the business I do I bring out my emotions in form of music and sell it out there to bless or impact someone And what I get in return is profits from the CD sold or show I organize.

Types of ministry. Ministry is in two phases What is ministry. Ministry is service. When we serve we meet people’s 1. Capacity (The anointing, the spiritual aspect of needs In the other hand ministry is meeting people’s needs through ministry ) the gift of God giving to use. Our gift was given to bless lives and meet 2. Gift ( This is the gift and it’s the non spiritual people’s needs. Ministry is work and not a job. A work is what you do aspect of ministry) Ministry is given for the body of Christ to be edified for a lifetime while a job is what you do to earn a living. You get and to grow into the fullness of Christ. Ephesians employed to a job but you employ yourself to a work. Work is what you have full knowledge of, what you are so experience about. 4:11-13 Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: It’s called the 5 fold ministry To everyone into ministry we have an office where we belong here in this office John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. John 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. Jesus Christ was a perfect example for us about ministry he balanced it on all sides He made us understand that ministry is a work. To every man going into ministry this thre things must be considered very well before launching into ministry this three keys will sustain and keep the man or woman going Even when trials arise. 1. Know who your caller (Who called you into ministry) 2. Know what you are called to do( Your lane, your message, what your message is) 3. Know who you are called to ( know your audience, the message you has got who are those you ara sent to speak it to,) This three things is very important in ministry. MOGUL LEADER MAGAZINE | 62

Hearing Your Purpose By

Dr. Timothy A. Day

How to hear and understand God’s purpose for your life Purpose! Do you hear God speaking to you about your purpose here on earth? Countless numbers of theologians and scholars have attempted to answer the age-old question of what is my purpose?Through the years I have studied the subject of purpose by reading such books as Pastor Rick Warren’s best-seller Purpose Driven Life “What on Earth Am I Here For?”, Henry Blackaby’s “Experiencing God”, as well as a number of devotionals and self-help books that have so eloquently discussed the subject of purpose. This chapter will focus on hearing God’s voice in discovering His purpose for our life. I have been told throughout the years that your destiny is chosen by God but its fulfillment is decided by you. Do you hear God’s voice speaking to you about His purpose for your life? In Psalm 29:3 - 4, David said, “The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders; The Lord is over many waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.”God’s voice is evident throughout creation. However, we are not always listening nor are we in a position to hear God speaking to us. The phrase “the voice of the LORD” is found in scripture 239 times. To hear the voice of the LORD means to hear God speaking to your heart. The heart also means mind as it is referred to in the scripture. In Proverbs 4:23 NIV, Solomon warns his readers to “guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life.” The NCV translation in Proverbs 4:23 says, “Be careful what you think because your thoughts run your life.” Deuteronomy 28:1- 14, the key to showing one’s obedience to the LORD is faithfully obeying the Voice of the LORD. The word “IF” means that the promises are conditional assuming the listener hears and obeys the Lord’s voice. Deuteronomy 28:1“Now if you faithfully obey the voice of the LORD your God and are careful to follow all His commandments, I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings will come upon you and overtake you, if you will obey the voice of the LORD your God. In Deuteronomy 28:15, Moses warns of grave consequences if the reader disobeys the LORD by not hearing the Voice of the LORD.

MOGUL LEADERS MAGAZINE 83

“However, if you do not obey the LORD your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees, I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you:” (Deuteronomy 28:15) Notice in the text that while the Blessings of Obedience will overtake the listeners who faithfully obeys, likewise, the Curses of Disobedience will overtake the listener who willfully decides to disobey the LORD by not hearing his voice. Whereas the Blessings of Obedience are from verse 1 to verse 14, the Curses of disobedience are from verse 15 to 68. As you can see, there is grave danger to the person who decides not to listen to the LORD’s voice. To willfully not hear the voice of the Lord will ultimately lead to one not fulfilling the purpose God has put you on earth to do. This is a good place to point out that sin could stop us from hearing God’s voice in our life. James 4:17 NKJV reads, “So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.” Isaiah 59:2 says, “Your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God.” Ever since the fall of man in Genesis 3 with Adam and Eve’s sin in the Garden, man has lost his perfect communication with God. When Adam and Eve heard the voice of the LORD in the garden in Genesis 3:8 -10, they were overcome by fear and hid from the LORD. Sin stops us from hearing God’s voice in our lives. God is Holy.He can have no sin before him. Romans 6:23 NIV reads, “The wages of sin is death.” In this scripture the text is referring first to a spiritual death due to a contrite heart. Psalm 66:18 NLT reads, “If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.” The heart is the key to our hearing and God responding to our request. Let me encourage you that there is still hope for anyone who may fall short of God’s mark. My pastor friend David Stancil always said “Christians do not sin less than anyone. We sin more than we want to. ”Roman 3:20 NKJV reads, “All have fallen short of the glory of God.” If you have identified that your sin has led you to not hearing the LORD’s voice in your life, I recommend that you pause for a moment to simply confess your sin to the LORD. 1 John 1:9 NIV reads, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. There is no time like the present. If you are still with me up to this point, then I have good news for you. God has an amazing plan for you and me for his redemption plan. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV reads, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and or not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

How and Why God Prepares Us for Purpose

by Pastor Herman and Co-Pastor Shineka Dixon Question: If God gave you

one million dollars and then told you to give eighty percent of it away, could you, do it?

I would be remised, no, completely out of line, if I did not start by highlighting the fact that our thoughts about purpose are NOTHING like God’s! God Himself affirms this in Isaiah 55:8-9, when He declares that “as far as the Heavens are from the Earth, so are His ways and thoughts higher than ours.” One thing is true. You will never really understand your purpose until you understand a few things about God’s character, nature, existence and how He prepares us for our purpose. I would like to thank Dr. Posey for gathering several authors to help you reach your purpose. Warning: Bear in mind, we each only have one chapter to explain an eternal concept. We don’t have time to sugarcoat anything, or placate to egos, but rest assured that everything said will be seasoned in love and grace. You ready? Let’s begin. In the Book of Revelations Chapter 1, the Father gives us an amazing clue to how He operates. After telling us that He loved, adopted, and cleansed us, He gives us a look into His existence in verse 8 when He declares: “I am THE Alpha and THE Omega, THE Beginning and THE End,” says the Lord, “Who Is, Who Was and Who Is to Come, the Almighty.” Simply put, God is “the Alpha and the Omega,” He is “the Beginning and the End.” Notice that scripture did not say that He is “an” alpha, “an” omega, “a” beginning, or “a” end. Words like “a” and “an” are nonspecific. If there can be “an” alpha there can be “another or several” alphas. If there is “a” beginning and “a” end, there could be multiples starts and finishes. The term “the” however points directly to Him. No one else can be the beginning of a thing and the end of it at the same time. He is Lord (Owner of owners, Ruler over all rulers). His way will always have preeminence. He has all authority and the ability and strength to do anything about what He desires. This concept holds true in all languages that the bible is translated in. There are no exceptions. God is the be all and end all of all things. EVERYTHING, including our purpose, must start and end with Him. He is the absolute final authority, and nothing happens outside of His presence. No matter how small, big, insignificant, or intricate, if it is going to last and stand the test of time and eternity it must somehow honor God.

Revelations 1 also gives us a glimpse as to how God’s existence prepares us for our purpose. Almighty God declares that He is Who Is, Who Was, and Who Is to Come. To the natural eye, one would think that there is something wrong with this statement. The natural chronological order of time should be Who Was, Who Is and Who Is to Come. But to the spiritual eye however, one would see this as right on target. You see, God is not bound by time or even our understanding about it. He told the prophet Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1:5 “that before He formed him in his mother’s womb, He knew him. Before he was born, He set him apart, and ordained him to be a prophet to the nations.” In essence, God tells Jeremiah that before the clock started on his earthly life, He had already known him and commanded Jeremiah’s life and purpose. Which Is So how does this relate to us and our purpose? When God entitles Himself “Which Is,” He shows us a key step in how He gets us ready to receive what He has for us. Which Is connotes God’s interaction with us in the present. God establishes Himself as a present-day God. He is with you now! In this instance, God is willing to meet you now. No matter how negative our situation, He is willing to meet you. He will meet you not where you pretend to be, but right where you are. An encounter with the “Right Now God” can change everything. This type of encounter can take a drunk or a drug addict and turn their whole world around and have them walk completely away from what used to be holding them hostage. This type of encounter with God takes an empty person and fills them with hope. Although anyone can have a right now encounter, normally there are three types of empty people who have it. The first type are people who have grown tired of life as they know it. These people are desperate for change and have grown weary of life without purpose. They are sick and tired of everything and everybody, including themselves. These people often suffer in silence. Many of them wear a smile on their face but have given up. They can be in a crowd of people and feel lonely. The second group are those who live their life in opposition to God. Deep down inside they know God exist and either deny it or could care less. They tend to want to do things their own way without any regard for their purpose or the afterlife. They do not plan to give an account for the deeds they have done in their life. Many of them live in the moment and are very accepting of everything. Anything that goes against the very nature of God seems to draw them even more. Although they have insecurities, they appear to have little bother them or hinder them from a challenge. They are the most vocal about their disregard for their need of a higher being.

From Brokenness to Breakthrough By Prophetess Latonya Green

If we all knew the outcome of our analysis and appraisal by God, we would have no problem saying yes to the prolusion. Our relationship with the Father in the eternal heaven would be “second to none”. We would without hesitation, get up every morning to seek God for His presence, directions and His unfailing love for us. We would make God our priority and not our necessity. Trying to pimp God and trying to monopolize God would not be a part of our existence. We would never think to curse God, be blasphemous or want to take our very own life. The words that come from our tongues would not yield bitter and sweet in the same breath. Neither would our minds become the devil’s playground. “I’ve been there” and so have many of you. In fact, the one-word question statement that’s familiar to all, even children are the word ‘Why”. Sounds familiar? Yes, all too familiar. To add fuel to the fire, during those times when we added to the question “why” it is said as such, “why me”. At this very moment when we add me to the question “why”, we have opened the door for any demonic spiritual entity to have its way in our mind because we added the word me. It’s one thing to ask God “why” but something totally different to ask “why me” You have unknowingly sown a self-righteous seed to your soul. That self-righteous seed gives the adversary the devil to put words and thoughts into the mind of your spirit, causing your spirit and soul to feel perplexed with fear and doubt, which intensifies the warfare in the battle ground of the mind. The bible says, Let this mind be in you, which is also in Christ, Jesus. (Philippians 2:5) Informal Excerpt 1 She had just experienced one of the most important days of her life, when she and the significant other entered a room to lay their heads. She said to her companion, “I’m going to go take a shower”. She prepared to remove portions her clothes. Then walked into the bathroom to take a shower. While taking a shower, she heard another voice entered the room. She could hardly understand what was being said or the voice of the other person talking because of the shower water. After taking a shower and entering the room, she asked this question to her companion, “Who was that just left?” Answering her immediately, he said, “Don’t worry about who that

was, that's none of your business." “None of my business?" she replied. He responded, “Like I said, it's none of your freaking business. She walked slowly like a dog with the tale between the legs to lay down on the bed to sleep. As her head touched the pillow, she laid in disbelief, question and tears. She began to pray to the Lord, asking Him to reveal to her what just took place in the space she thought was going to be a night of intense passion and sweat. Instead, it was a night of tears and questions. From this excerpt, you can immediately know how the battle of the mind began. It began with one simple question to her companion that he did not answer. How many times have you asked questions that you didn’t get answers too or questions that was answered in lies, riddles and half- truth? When God asked Adam, “Where art thou Adam?” Genesis 3:9 Adam was afraid when he heard the Lord’s voice because he knew he was naked. The companion from excerpt 1 knew that exposure could have been revealed that night but instead, he kept the covers on him by passing the truth and shifting the feeling of guilt and shame on himself. This was the exact same thing Adam did. Adam told God he was naked and he hid himself from God. Adam tried to shift being in trouble with God by saying, “The woman whom thou gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. Genesis 3:12 My God, that sounds too familiar in this modern day. The Lord punished both, Adam and Eve for their disobedience. The truth will always come to the light. It may be days, months or years but the truth will always make its way to the forefront. Informal Excerpt 2 After the arrival to another state, she and her companion abided together with uncertainty of their relationship for a period over ten years. One day, the companion decided to go away on a business trip. The companion said to her, “I have a business trip out of the state and I will be leaving tomorrow”. When he mentioned this to her, all she could remember, in amazement, was the question in her head that he did not answer when they were out of town. She reluctantly said, “be careful and stay safe”. Her companion packed his things for the weekend and the next day he proceeded on the business trip as stated. The next day when her companion left for the weekend. She immediately fell to her knees and prayed to the Lord saying, “Father, there is something that’s not right in my spirit concerning my companion. Ever since we got back from our trip together, I’ve had this feeling of suspicion and inquiry about my companion. Father, if there is anything I should know and if there is anything that should be uncovered, please Lord expose it and prepare me for the unexpected and reveal to me every secret. Father, I am a woman of love and integrity to You first and then to my companion those I know love me. MOGUL LEADERS MAGAZINE 87

Apostle Dr.

Alton Natson

It Comes at a Cost, Purposeful Destiny! By Apostle Dr. Alton Natson And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in

favor with God and man. Luke 2: 52 As a man I have found that living in this life can very trying, meaningful, and and if we choose to learn from the mistakes of others, we can find purpose. I know that this world is very unforgiving and many times in life because the world is unforgiving, I have found myself in a place of unforgiveness. An unforgiving heart can put us in places where we become lost and void of who God has really called us to be. As one of God’s chosen men I understand having a heart of unforgiveness can literally cause us to lose our purpose in life. As men we must learn true purpose, fulfilled purpose, the absolute God defined purpose for our lives will come at a very steep cost. Early on in my young life learned I learned the difference between my purpose (fleshy) and God’s purpose (His divine destiny revealed), through the leading and guiding of a mother who loved the Lord. At the tender age of 5 years old I made the request to be saved and I wanted to give my life over to the Lord. My grandfather was a pastor, and my father was a deacon alongside my uncles in our home church. I began the walk of purpose from that day forth though I truly learned that God’s divine purpose is a different walk according my human and physical purpose that I defined early on in life. As a young boy I learned a lot of things in life through the prism of youthful innocence, I learned what was right and what was wrong, what my parents approved of and what would get me in a whole lot of trouble. I learned from a young age what God approved of, something that my mother and my grandparents defined as living a holy life. I learned through the failures and mishaps of the men in my own life and learned one of the greatest things I could have been taught is measure of a man is not defined by where he fell in his life, but where along God’s path he chose to finish his life, in the kingdom or outside the kingdom. I learned the importance of making the right choice and not allowing others to define who you are by the choices that you made. My father Deacon Lavaughn Natson, my mother Deaconess Barbara Natson and my grandparents Pastor James and Annie Mae Canty played a huge part in the laying of the foundation of Christ in and through my life. Through the safety of the multitude of counselors in my family, the good ones and the bad ones, I was able to learn the importance of a solid and firm foundation found

“and rooted in God’s purpose. I learned to utilize the strength of the word of God at an early age and because it was the word that I believe in it was the power of the word which helped me get through the challenges I have and continue to face in the world. By The uniqueness of a God given purpose, and a defined purpose has been instrumental in the development of who I am and who I am becoming as I continue to grow just as Jesus did in wisdom and in stature before God and man. Many men live a life off a predetermined purpose outlined through the eyes of a corrupt and dying world. I found myself chasing after a fruitless dream defined by the wants and desires of a fleshly life rather than simply seeking God according to His word in Matthew 6: 33, But seek first His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Many men fail in God purpose because we do as I once did and look for the byproducts before we look for the raw materials that we can then give to God to define our purpose. Too many of us define our purpose fulfilled by the people, places, and things, we have allowed to enter and enjoy our lives. The danger of finding purpose in the fruitless things is the losing and the missing of our souls, Mark 8: 36, what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, false purpose, and lose his own soul? The uniqueness of a God given purpose is this, everything that comes with it is married to your soul. Your soul is the breath of life from the beginning of time, it is what made Adam a living being. The soul is the investment that God poured into man to gain a purposeful return on what He made an investment on. The soul is designed to grow spiritually and not naturally, the soul is what and is where your true God given purpose is housed and maintained. The struggle with many men in not in the flesh but it is found in the battle for your soul. As Kingdom men we have to ensure that our soul is saved, and our soul remains in the right standing with God that when the timing is right God will reveal His purpose for our souls. The bible established the purpose of the soul from the beginning of time, by ensuring God breathed life into the man, that it was this same life that would cause the man to live, endure, and remain committed and close to the one that gave him purpose. Adam’s original purpose was that of a simple man living a simple life, God designed him according to Genesis 2: 15, and the Lord God took the man, and put him in the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.The awesome thing about God’s soul breathed into man was this, the piece of God breathed into man came with power and purpose. The power and purpose identified by God from the beginning was His desire for man to be made in the image and likeness of Him. Everything about God is designed by purpose, he is purpose, and he was purpose, and still today is purpose. Even His words are established and defined with purpose to do what He set them out to do, according to Isaiah 55: 11. MOGUL LEADERS MAGAZINE 89

Moving On Divine Everlasting Love By

Evangelist Dottie A. Williams

Walking by Faith My Purpose Was Not Purchased, I Was Born with It

The moment I stopped and realized that my purpose in life could not be bought, I became liberated in more ways than one. I must admit it took me a while to come to this realization! Only after years of paying my way to find my purpose, whether it was following someone else’s goals and aspirations that wasn’t mine, or to entertaining friendships to gain inside awareness of what I really wanted to do next. At one point while growing up as a child, I started to think my Family was poor. We didn’t have the big house, fancy cars, a closet full of clothes and every toy we wanted, however, as I grew older, I realized that we were not poor, we had clean clothes, a roof over our heads, food on the table, a warm place to sleep, spiritually grounded and a Family that loved each other. We had a bond that was unbreakable, the highlights for my Family were attending Church, singing in the Choir and attending Family gatherings (backyard cook-outs, birthday parties and talks around the kitchen table) GOD was the center of our JOY! Hi, I am Dottie Heath-Williams, born and raised in the Hills of South Carolina to Annie M. and David L. Howze, there are eight of us, five girls Della, Mary (deceased), Martha, Bobbie, Dottie and three boys Jessie, Cleveland and Joe (deceased). Here’s where my roots are. I lived in a close-knit community of family and friends, a neighborhood that offered a lot, nestled at the very end of our street was Mr. Sammy’s Grocery store where we would go faithfully to buy bubble gum, pickles, sodas and Baby Ruths; the community park and playground were in walking distance and so was the school. I attended Sunset Park Elementary School in Rock Hill, SC. My favorite Teacher’s name was Ms. Heath and we were not related! I loved her dearly, she was very nice, patient and admirable. I had lots of very friendly classmates, we would walk to school together and share homework assignments, we bonded over the years and still have remained friends until this day. A special shout out to Diane Miller-Blake and Phyllis Mann-Fickling. I would also spend summer days playing soft ball and hanging out with neighbors and friends at the local Catholic Community Center on Crawford Road. Prior to leaving elementary school, I had a life

threatening illness with “scarlet fever”, a bacterial infection that causes the body temperature to escalate to a level where my skin was literally pealing. Iovercame this illness with no additional issues. (Thank God!)

After graduating from Elementary School, I relocated to the Nation’s Capital, Washington, D.C. to live with my Sister (Martha). Here I attended Carter G. Woodson, Junior High School, a decision that ultimately changed my life. I met Mrs. Kane, my Home Economics teacher, she taught me so much, from cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, how to be confident and selfassuring. The most memorable moment was her faith and confidence in me by referring me to an Audition for a “Teen Board” Model position at Sears & Roebuck on Bladensburg Road, Washington, DC. (Thank God!), I was selected! This is where one of God’s Purposes for my life started to kick in! I along with another classmate Martina McMillan, started our first part-time job modeling “informally” on the weekends down the store isles of Sears & Roebuck, wearing the infamous “Winnie the Pooh” line of clothing. I was excited! In the 7th grade, modeling and getting paid to do it! This opportunity was short lived however, after graduating from Junior High School, I kept in touch with Mrs. Kane, she referred me to a Modeling Studio in Baltimore, Md there I received a bigger blessing! I was trained on how to become a Professional Model. I knew this was my calling because the techniques of modeling came to me naturally. I mastered the basics, which was the walk, the turns and how to properly exit the Runway. Then came the techniques of how to properly wear the garments, i.e., how to remove a coat/jacket, how to wear a reversible shawl. I found myself, practicing day and night in front of mirrors, in front of family and friends, they were cheering me on and this really helped build my confidence. I wanted to do more and be more, therefore, when I entered Spingarn High School, I started modeling on the weekends with a Group of Ladies/Men call “Modeling As An Art” created by a local DC Hair Stylist “Reginald Word”. This effort landed me in hair shows, poolside shows, Fashion Shows for charitable Organizations, photo shoots and I began seeking modeling opportunities within the Community. My High school experience was very inspirational, I really started to discover who I was and what God really wanted me to become in life. (My Purpose). I felt like it was time to make some serious decisions about life after high school, did I want to go to College, did I want to pursue my dream job of becoming a Flight Attendant, did I want to pursue Modeling in Paris, did I want to find a job and work for the Federal Gov’t, the questions continued to come.
