Design development Sketches

The aspirations for the masterplan were plentiful, however the core themes of the resort can be boiled down into a few points. Firstly it was a goal that all guest have walkable access to all the various zones of the masterplan. Another primary goal was to maintain the natrual countours of the land as much as possible. Lastly the placement of the buildings were largely dependent on the surrounding views and areas. The hotel was intentionally placed in the middle of the site as a "welcoming face" to future guests of the resort as well as the residents of the city. These design decisons were the anchor points to which the future design decisions were made according to.

The masterplan's shape was inspired by the dew drops, that are found in abundance on the sites lush green areas. The biophilic concpet was then developed to inter relate with the masterplan as well as the indivual buildings

The masterplan was divided into 4 zones. The four zones would each house a diffrent housing typologies. Zone 1 featured The largest Premium villas, and the 9 hole golf course as well as it own Golf country club which could operate self suffciently. Zone 2 featured the face of the entire resort which was the hotel, as well as mosque. Zone 3 featured the semi-detached townhouses, 3 furnished apartment blocks, a club house, as well as a plethora of activites such as bunjee jumping, and rock climbing. Lastly Zone 4 was a sperate piece of land, which was developed to become its own self sufficient destination, as a country club, it housed equestrian, spa, outdoor garden, and cinema facilites

Another theme of the project is to maintain the site's natural contours as well as it's greenery. The hotel was therefore designed to blend into it's landscape as a result this informed the cascading garden design, which follow the countours of the site as much as possible.
