Summary:

The Theatre Royale is another historical gem found in Margate, it holds great historical, and cultural value as it has been used since the late 1700s, and has been given upgrades at different points in time to keep up with the demand. In recent years however the theatre has been neglected, and has been refused funding from the local council even though it is a grade II listed building. The theatre has been neglected, due to the economic recession that margate has been going through for the past few years which led to the decline of many local businesses around Margate. The theatre was requesting redesign services. The concept of the project was to respect the neccessary elements of the building while aiming to address the pitfalls that previous designgers have made in the past. A wider urban study was undertaken to help prevent crime found in the public squares, which surround the theatre.
