Brand Experience Case Study Identify The need for my products are for taking care of yourself and taking care of the environment. You are taking care of your hygiene in every way in terms of cleanliness and you also smell better too. You are also taking care of the environment as well. My products come in stainless steel bottles instead of plastic. My products are also nontoxic and don’t contain any chemicals. The ingredients of my products are all organic and natural. Once you buy my products, you can subscribe to Movana products and get them refilled at any Movana store near you!
Challenge The challenge here is to create a product family from the same manufacturer/distributor that’s a new concept (in other words, it doesn’t exist yet). My product line should have a minimum of four new products which are going to be cologne, aftershave, shampoo and deodorant. My MoVana brand has to be organic, expensive and available only in upscale gourmet markets, specialty stores or online. It’s produced by a small specialty company and they use the finest ingredients. The product really is better than its competitors, it costs a lot to make each and every container of product and this justifies/explains the high price per item. My products have to be very special and they need to communicate this visually and with the other information on the product packaging. Young men who try my products should never want to purchase another brand again because mines have value to them. My biggest challenge is to make the product visually convey that its superior to others even if it’s not.

The steel would be the look and feel of my Movana product bottles and store. The steel represents confidence and boldness. The recycled paper look would subtle on my designs and would make it feel more “gritty.”

These were my first ideas for my logos. When I designed the leaf I tried to make that the central focus for my branding. The leaf is supposed to have a “cool” vibe to it. I tried to make it look nice and slick. The “V” is supposed to be like a vase, supporting the leaf, making it look like a plant that’s growing.

My thought process here was to think of really cool animals that would represent each MoVana product. The bear would be for the deodorant, eagle for cologne, wolf for aftershave, and fish would be for shampoo. I tried making them look fierce and cool. That was the intention and as you can see here, the MoVana leaf in the logo would be shown in these animals.

These were secondary illustration ideas that I would put on each MoVana product instead of the animals you saw in the previous page. I struggled to come up with a good idea in this phase of the project. The fire was supposed to be for the cologne, rain drop was for the shampoo and the snowflake was supposed to be for the aftershave.

Final Solution My final solution here was that I removed the leaf from the logo. I gave more description to what each MoVana product has in terms of ingredients. I made the recycled paper look more subtle and I took out the leaf on the animals. I rearranged the logo and the animal illustrations and made the animal illustrations bigger than the logo. I also shortened the tagline and made the decision that my product would appeal to males ages 18 to 39. This works because people have an idea of what my products are because of the ingredient descriptions and it makes the look of my products more appealing. I want people to appreciate the illustrations of my bottles and made sure that my illustrations were the center of attention in the majority of my products.
Reflection Looking back at my entire process when I made these, I have learned alot. This really was one of my most difficult projects that I have ever worked on. My most difficult challenge of this project was trying to make sustainability look cool, trying to mix a cool and organic look to my designs. I went from having a great idea to not working out until I finally come up with the best idea ever in the end.
