The Healing Ground A Group Project. partners: Ashley Seefled & Ebulimiti Aikebai. Development: Eight Weeks
The proposal calls to assess an existing infrastructure that was at a point disserving to the needs of the medical and patient society on local grounds. The added landmark was to be the beacon that represented the moving of times towards a fast and more economical healthcare care society. The studio was also to analyze and research Health Care reform after the Obama Care Act went into effect and the emergence of 23-hour surgical centers.
1
The first main main goal was to provide an environment of healing for bor the patients and the doctors. The second was for the center was to comply with the Sentara standards of quality, beauty and function,

The project had to comply with the emergeant, 23 hour surgery regulation issued by Obama Care and instated by the State of Virginia. The new added center had to also provide the oppurtunity for future expansion.

The otherwise rigid structure of the proposed building is softened by the elaborate manifestation of the Parametric .ecapS llehS Aluminum Panels that were made to provide specific shading within the different seasons of the year. Wood paneling is also used over the glass faรงade to bring a warm element to the face of the property and assist with maintaining privacy within the facility. This strategy serves as a provider of privacy from the outside world while providing an easing sense of transparency and connection from within the structure.

[T-77] Terminal-77 A Group Project. partners: Kevin Stromert, Yan Chen, Nick Dean Cross Development: Ten Weeks
Located near a crowded Highway 77, south of Dallas, Texas, we were challenged to design a fueling station that would serve as a part of the larger whole within the culture of velocity and cars. Through research of vehicular culture we deduce a set of drivers that serve as the project parameters. Which allowed us to make a fueling station that serves the nation of truckers that carry the domestic supply of goods around the nation keeping businesses alive, while challenging the programmatic organization of the architecture allowing the birth of a new two levelled fuel station.

Terra-Forma An Individual Project - Development: Three Weeks
In this Project, we were asked to imagine a remote desert research station that sits in the Arid climatic Condition of the Desert, Through personal research and focus, I decided to place the project in the North Western desert of my country Kuwait. Eighty percent of natural wildlife was eradicated due to over glazing, unsupervised human activity and the 1990 gulf war that yielded the burning of 737 oil wells, polluting air, land and water. The aim of the project was to design an architecture that had the ability to terraform landscape in order to restore and revitalize a lost eco-system in the desert while lessening dust storms and allowing researchers to occupy the architecture before its consumption by the desert as part of its healing process.

Seal: during hotter climate The cells are made of material that are able to expand when the weather is warm, which will be able to seal water that was collected during rainfall. and allows the sand dunes to form while the water is sealed for later use.
Release: during cooler climate During cooler season when the dunes have formed, the cells then open to release the water into the sand and onto the seed blanket allowing plants to start to grow on and within the dune, to prevent the sand from participating in a sand storm.
Secondary Water Collection system The secondary water collection system that runs in between all the cells would, over a long period, continuously absorb and store water much like the saguaro cactus in a reservoir underground to keep water from evaporating due to high heat on the desert surface.
Plant Seed Blanket For Revitalization The mesh- like blanket, would serve as the main element in which plants grow from. It aims to reduce the needed time for seeds to planted or to be transported naturally through air.The blanket carries native endanged plant seed, such as, Arfaj. The hope is that this method of growing protected plants on buildings would be the precursor to revitaliztion of a fragile and damaged ecosystem.

RED/BLUE A Group Project. partner: Brandon Persson - Development: Eight Weeks Exploration and research of spatial delineation and visual sensory over stimulation to generate body awareness in space. We engaged the space by exorcising its structural and spatial organization to achieve a proper ratio of spatial division. Once we delineated our spatial parameters, we were able to test different lighting conditions in order to achieve visual sensory over stimulation using the anaglyph model used in older three dimensional projection practices. By providing a set of anaglyph glasses, we allowed the visitors to experiment and experience the space through either lens as they both deliver two very different spatial experiences. The installation held on Design on Main Street, Ames, Iowa, served as part of Iowa State University’s College of Design of Independent Research Exploration.

Terra-Firma A Group Project. partner: Jon Basset, Development: Four Weeks
Through the merging of the soul and the landscape, the research of atmospheric interpretation came to manifest in the study of making. “The work will teach you was the motto of the studio, which inherently led to the creation of over 80 drawings both 2d and 3d over the course of 5 weeks. The drawings explored possibilities of allowing the land to dictate and shape atmospheric architectural delineation and the process of arriving at the final solution to design in its complete abstracted technicality.
5
The example on the right, is an abstract technial drawing of the landscape as a threshhold of elaborate melodies in which experiences are created.Through the exrcises such as these, four main concepts come to be:
1. Integeration
2. projection

The House of Nomadism An Individual Project - Development: Two Weeks The reincarnation of the prospectors of old yielded changes that made the world mend its order. The environment to change, hotter and colder, lives to adapt, leaner and stronger, all in the pursuit of the gold that is not solid and the gold that is not yellow. Profit is the denominator to decide the value is valid. Harvest the ground they did, into the realm unseen by human eyes, deep down in the flesh of the world we occupy. Deeper and deeper they have dug; in search of the one, they call Black Gold, and oh my, have they found the nectar of prosperity. Seemingly endless, and bound only by the infinitesimal. I have adapted to accommodate the needs of the nomads of extremity in many places around. North to South, East to West, I have travelled, through the seasons of hot and cold, dry and wet. Now my skeletal structure morphs into a three larger beings in the ritual of my growth to allow inhabitation of those who share my destiny. A destiny in which the principles of the nomads are sacred. Temporality is our essence, in that and with time, retracts my skeleton and with that, I hibernate for the sake of travel. Never settled, I serve the needs of that of far; to dig in a land only inhabited by nature and it is off springs. On my arrival, my feet stretch my slumbering body, and touch the ground ever so lightly, allowing me to respectfully be among the land. My skin then, grows it’s regulate skin like scales reacting to the environment around me. In sorts, I am an alien with a purpose and agenda. Now my inhabitant stands proudly on the lip of my existence, awaiting the prospect of hope and prosperity.
