BRIEF ﺍﻟﻤﺤﺘﻮﻯ
The design of Al-Ula museum supports the kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030 vision for reviving the heritage sites. The design approach reinforces the contours of Al-Ula and the sedimentary mountains and mimics the erosion of the mountains which created pathways between the mountains and connecting one point to another, this pathway ‘Al-Rwag’ is used and abstracted using different mountain elevations, it has been created to make the user experience and feel the nature of Al-Ula through a path connecting the museum’s functions together. The museum is focused solely on the history and contemporary history of Al-Ula, what it was, what it became and what it’s going to be.

-Inside the museum, is explored a seemingly contradictory hybridization between the labyrinthine spatiality and spiral path used by the ancient Peruvians and contemporary spatiality, smooth and transparent. -Environmental requirements of the Paracas Desert and the museologicals collection requirements are solved with a "device environmental correction", that defines the architectural and museum party. The device consists of a lamppost run, under which are the transition spaces between exhibition halls or circulation spaces, according to the needs and his position in the project. This device allows to control natural light, artificial light, natural ventilation and cooling of the different environments. Its geometry reinterprets the serie and the gap characteristic of the Paracas textiles, which were his most outstanding technological and artistic expressions. -The museum is divided up into two wings – one containing the exhibition galleries and conservation areas, and another housing education spaces. A single corridor, described by the architects as a crack, separates them.

03. Concept The concept is to explore the relationship of spaces through the addition and subtraction of voids within a cube.
01.
Negative Architecture negative architecture is de-objectifying the landscape of the surrounding location of the building by fitting itself into the fabric of the surrounding landscape so that the building will merge to the frame of view or point out from the surrounding
078
02.
The building is influenced by the contours and nature of the al-ula
Al-Nabte'aen used negative architecture in their homes, and it enflected on the building
03.
04.
The mountains been used in the building to create an interior pathway by using the mountains outlines (Al-Mizhem)
The height of the entrance has been used to reflect Al-Ula nature on the building
079
04. Experience Al-Ula The experience created in Museum of Alula is derived from Alula itself, the contours, corridors between two mountains and the curvature of the mountains which is a stack effect over the years. The main idea is to merge the building with the environment and to help visitors comprehend the environment and the history of Alula.
