Wide Program Selection
Mohawk offers a wide range of quality programs in business, engineering technology and health. Many of Mohawk’s programs include applied Co-op work terms, internships or work placements which help international students pay for their education, gain work experience and facilitate Permanent Residency in Canada. Choose a two or three year diploma, a one year certificate, or work towards a degree. You can also continue your studies after graduation by taking advantage of Mohawk’s many transfer agreements with other universities. Student Services Mohawk’s international students are supported by International Student Services staff from the time they arrive, right through to graduation. Many activities and events are held throughout the year where international students are encouraged to showcase their culture, and experience the cultures of their fellow students.
Get Help and Feel at Home Connect with a Student Ambassador Before you arrive in Canada sign up for an International Ambassador. These international student volunteers have already completed at least one semester at Mohawk and can provide helpful insight on typical questions such as: what to pack, what life in Canada is like, and the Mohawk student experience. When you request an International Ambassador, we will do our best to pair you with someone from the same country. We know that transition to life in Canada can take time. Paid work terms provide students with an opportunity for substantial work experience that complements academic study. International students need to have a Co-op work permit in order to participate in the Co-op terms.
Field or clinical placements (unpaid) occur in a variety of programs.
The College Student Employment Program hires eligible Mohawk students to work on site for 15 hours/week.
International students are eligible to work off-campus after 6 months, no more than 20 hours/week during full time study at Mohawk.

Earn University Credits for Your Mohawk Courses Credit transfer agreements between Mohawk College and other postsecondary institutions facilitate admission for Mohawk College graduates by giving credit for college study. Our graduates may receive credit for several courses, or for a year or more towards a degree. This allows students to develop practical skills and knowledge at the college level and to build on this foundation with more theoretical learning at university, an excellent return-on-investment for postsecondary tuition.
