THE COLLEGE

Mohawk College has grown to be one of Canada’s leading colleges. Mohawk’s history began in 1947 with the establishment of the Provincial Institute of Textiles which was transformed into the Hamilton Institute of Technology (HIT) in 1957. Ten years later, in 1967, the HIT was incorporated as the newly established Mohawk College, one of 24 Ontario colleges.

Today, Mohawk College proudly delivers a quality education and college experience to over 34,600 full-time, part-time, continuing education and apprenticeship students. THE LIRIPIPE

The liripipe is a European medieval symbol of academic achievement dating back to the 8th century. It marks the achievement of excellence according to each student’s chosen program and symbolizes their membership into the international community of scholars.
