About me

Hello, I am Mohita Bhatia an interior designer by profession. I studied Interior Architecture and design and graduated in 2020. I have been a practising interior designer for the past 2.5yrs My portfolio consists of projects handled by me under the supervision of Aatika maam who is the principal designer at Aatika Manzar Design. In these projects the work done by me consisted of regular site visits, coordination with the contractor and vendors, regular meetings with the clients, making the 3D and all the drawings required.

15A, CLUB RESTAURANT

Sector 15A is one of the best housing society in Noida. They have a club within the society called 15A SPORTS CLUB. The club has been there for many years and last year they wanted to renovate the club where in they wanted to convert the existing bar into a restaurant and if possible then extend it to the outer garden area. The brief given to us was to try to use as much from the existing space and do the handover at the earliest so that they don’t loose much on business.

The colour theme was to be green, beige and brown. The restaurant should look classy and elegant. The sqft of the restaurant was 1500sqft.

Final layout where in all the curved sofa’s will be made and the remaining furniture are the existing furniture which would get reupholstered.

For the extension earlier it was decided that the ceiling will also be glass but later on decided that the ceiling will be same as that of the restaurant and there will be glass all around.

Chair Design Sofa Design

With the structure of the existing chair the first option that we tried was to use cane for the back of the seat but the client didn’t like it so instead we decided to sand the chair to remove the black colour and polish the natural wooden structure and use that. After this the leatherite faric was changed to suede.

Fluting was an element that the clients loved thats why they insited on having fluting in the sofa design as well so for the curved sofa first we got marking done on site to be sure that the three such sofas would fit together before putting them through production. Once the size was decided the structure was made and then quilting was done.

For the wall with booth seating, above the paneling wallpaper was to be selected so to decide on the wallpaper photoshop renders of the wall were done.

Two options were made for partition design between the sofa’s but due to budget issue decided to go for fluted glass between wooden frame.

The restaurant took between 2-3 months for complition the major time taken was for the extended space as the clients couldnt finalise whether they wanted glass in the ceiling or not, we wanted glass in the ceiling but had to decide againt it due to maintainence. Barring that wall design and the fabric were decided during the first two meetings itself.

After completion the clients were very happy with the outcome

15A, CLUB BAR

The club has been there for many years and last year they wanted to renovate the club where in they wanted to convert the existing restaurant into a bar The brief given to us was to reuse the existing bar furniture and get it reupholstered, the theme of the bar should be dark with very few lights and the bar design should be eye catching. The main task at hand was to handover the project within 2 months as for the the renovation the bar had been closed causing loss of money on day to day business. Finalising the design for the bar took time after that everything went smoothly. The sqft of the bar was 1700sqft..

4. Flooring of the restaurant

5. Wall paneling and adding wallpaper

6. Reupholestry of existing furniture

Final layout where in there is a massive curved bar at the entrance and seating devided on both the sides giving easy flow of movement from the entrance.

For wall design we initially decided to do paneling on the wall fabric quilting in blue colour and grey texturein between.

The bar was the main element for this space as it acts like a highlight at the entrance of the space. Initially the structure was made in ply and then metal twisted band finished in golden PU polish were fixed at the front of it.

Then it was decided to have panels with molding on them finished in PU paint and have cove light beside them and on the wall have a wallpaper or golden texture

The bar space was completed in 2 months. The ideation was done while the restaurant was being renovetd and the work for bar space was being done side by side. The major focus of this space was bar and in the end it turned out pretty well.
