Design Portfolio

The plan was to create a café for a nutritious brand called NUTRIOBOX where in the customer entering the café can get an essence of the brand through the design of the space. The design should be minimal yet communicative of the brand. The sqft of the café was 500sqft and the height of the café was 15ft so one of the main design element was the ceiling of the café.

The main challenge faced in this project was with the ceiling as availability of certain material became a problem cause of which it got improvised multiple times as shown below, and finally an innovative outcome was recieved.

1. Removing the existing HVAC unit and installing a new

2. Getting the flooring done, green near teh reception and grey in the remaining space

3. Getting the furniture made

4. Getting the front counter and storage space ready

5. Getting the ceiling structure ready

The Softwares used for this project are autocad,photoshop,sketchup and enscape

Floor Plan Iterations

Layout option 1 with 16 person seating and giving a center wide passage for moment.

Layout option 2 with 16 person seating and giving a centre curved seating with table around it.

Layout option 3 with 16 person seating and giving a centre amoeba shaped in organic seating with table around it.

Final layout with 19 person seating indoor and 14 person outdoor seating. In this the seating was around the sides and centre passage for moment.

Nutriobox being a brand for healthy food and the brand has green as its main colour so we decided to have green tile for the floor as well as wall for the counter space making the colour prompt out well. Since the salad is served on bowl we thought of having salad bowl hang from the ceiling.

Since it’s a salad brand so the initial idea was to use salad bowl as a hanging light element, we tried 3D with plain bowls as well as coloured bowls

Since the client didnt want to hang many bowls,we decided to add other elements around it

After trying to get the salad bowl customised but due to time constraints decided to use bamboo sticks to make the ceiling fixture, first tried to make irregular shape in two colours giving it an avocada look.

Finally settled on the idea wherein using bamboo sticks to make two ovals where the height of the inner one would be more than the outer and having lights hanging between them.
