Oak Point Link TYPE: INFRASTRUCTURAL INTERVENTIONS
Oak Point Link is a train track which connects the south Bronx to the north. This train track is being used occasionally for cargo transportation; however, with its fascinating view to the Harlem River, it could be used as a tram track for special events and celebrations to transport people from East Harlem and the South Bronx to Yankee Stadium and even further north.

The East Harlem waterfront has remained inaccessible, largely due to a lack of essential circulation links such as pedestrian bridges, stairs, and dedicated pathways. Locating these infrastructural links at the waterfront, below overpasses, and between second Avenue to overhead bridges, will help stitch the urban fabric of East Harlem to the East River, and will provide a pedestrian connection between East Harlem to Randall’s Island.

Bronx Amusement Park TYPE: RECREATIONAL STRATEGIES
The new Bronx Amusement Park, located in the southern section of the borough will be focused on a range of entertainment and cultural venues drawing visitors from Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx; it will create new job opportunities, and stimulate the growth of small business around the amusement park, therein becoming a financial asset for the borough. The park will also help to re-brand the borough as a new destination.
Bridge Base TYPE: RECREATIONAL STRATEGIES
Bridge Base located under bridges crossing the East River can serve as new entertainment islands, and/or small marinas for recreational boating. These new destinations provide an opportunity to engage the waterfront for recreational purposes. Staircases up to a bridge deck would be placed for pedestrian access.

Bronx Roof Market TYPE: RETROFITTING EXISTING STRUCTURES FOR NEW USES
The new Bronx Rooftop Market will provide a key destination in the southern Bronx for shopping opportunities, fresh produce, and locally-sourced food for a community suffering from a ‘food desert’ condition and one greatly under-served by healthy eating options. Interiors of the existing structures within a block can be retrofitted to accommodate mixed-uses ranging from commercial, to residential, to parking. The proposed canopy structure provides shade and visually links existing structures and blocks together to signify this new destination.
Project Housing in Bronx TYPE: RETROFITTING EXISTING STRUCTURES FOR NEW USES
The existing public housing configurations in East Harlem and the Bronx present as ‘super blocks’, with single-uses as residential complexes that don’t encourage pedestrian movement through them. This proposal, to create new street crossing and pedestrian pathways through the public housing blocks, and to provide commercial storefronts at the street level, will serve to better stitch these complexes into the urban fabric, and provide employment opportunities for the community. It is the hope of this proposal that some allocation of storefront income can be used towards improving building maintenance. Artists will also be encouraged to occupy storefront gallery spaces to provide cultural benefits for these areas, with the hope that art and educational opportunities could also be provided for the community.
Bronx Hospital Green Roof TYPE: ECOLOGICAL STRATEGIES
The new Bronx Hospital Green Roof will serve the patients and employees of the hospital as a place of respite, and provide a healthier environment for recovery. While there have been many new parks built in recent years in the Bronx, there are fewer examples of green roofs. The green roof is also a step towards creating a healthier ecology for the Bronx but helping to detain stormwater.
Mobile Mechanic Shop TYPE: MOBILE INTERVENTIONS
The southern Bronx has a strong car culture, with industries such as car dealerships, limo/shuttle service houses, etc. however, there is a lack of mechanic shops to service the needs of this culture and industry and investment to build a permanent building has been always a problem. Even, in many places building a mechanic shop is almost impossible. The Mobile Mechanic Shop will provide access to this service to a range of areas, and keep business in the southern Bronx. The Mobile Mechanic Shop can travel to and between parking lots, gas stations, and vacant lots.

Mobile Exercise Center TYPE: MOBILE INTERVENTIONS
The Mobile Exercise Center will provide an opportunity for exercise and physical activity to those under-served by gyms, open space, parks, playgrounds, and/or affordable options to exercise. This investment has long-term benefits for a community that suffers from obesity, diabetes, and other chronic illness as a result of lack of healthy options for nutrition and exercise.
