Gracious in manner. Impartial in judgment. Ever dependable. A true and lasting influence upcn each and all who have shared the fullness of his personality . . . There are few who have so grasped the refreshing appreciation of life's meaning, or have bestowed upon all the kingly humility of friendship. The realization of his deep understanding of youth's mountainous proble~ns inspires us, the Sophomore Class of 1951, to dedicate this annual to DEAN PERRY CHRISTIANSON.

IS A BRIEF HISTORY OF OUR SCHOOL.
North Idaho Junior College succeeds the private corporation known as Coeur d'Alene Junior College, which served the higher education needs of the area from 1933 to 193-9. With the Junior College Act, adopted by the Idaho legislature, its status became that of a state educational institution. And since late in 1950, NIJC has had unrestricted accreditation as a two-year junior college, granted by the Higher Commission of the Northwest Association of Secondary and Higher Schools. Another most important milestone was passed also in 1950 when the Junior College moved from out-grown quarters in the city hall to a new half-million dollar building on the campus beside the lake, where the trade department was already located.

Old
Bones ..
Appearing somewhat like grizzled old prospectors, several members of the ARCHEOLOGY CLUB look over diggin's in NIJC backyard.
Besides making excavations near the Junior College, the Archeology Club took several trips to two sites near Medimont, Idaho. At one site they unearthed the skeleton of an Indian, and in the other, a cave, found several flint artifacts and many fragments of bone.
Spectators watch hungrily as excavators pick at the bones.
Working, for a change.
Dem bones, Dem bones, Dem dry bones!
No, Tom! That's not the way to pack them away.
In the cave ... Shades of Neanderthal!
