Or refocus your eating to develop healthier habits? The opportunities for change are huge – so go on……. give something new a try!
For January, we will be offering a “starter pack” of three, 55-minute PT sessions for £105 – open to any member who has not done PT with us before. These are a great way to work 1-2-1 with someone who can push you and hold you accountable, as well as providing great expertise on the best exercises to achieve your goals. We are also offering a special “couples rate” for those couples/friends who wish to train together. Hello, my name is Andrew and I’m the owner of Manner Borne Chauffeur Services Ltd. August 25th 2020. I took over this company from its previous owner who started the company in 2001 in Cheshire and wanted to retire. We took over in the middle of a Pandemic that had a grip around the world and has caused much heartache and devastation to economies and families. Manner Borne sends its deepest sympathies to those that have been affected by Covid-19. Going forward Manner Borne will be working with the team at Champneys Mottram Hall for the next 12 months for all its members travel arrangements, this maybe a special treat to the Spa, maybe the transport for your business golf event or it might be the Wedding that’s being held at Mottram Hall or anywhere else.
Manner Borne uses Mercedes Benz Vehicles, the Mercedes S Class Long wheelbase premium saloon car with privacy glass, full air con, lots of space for its occupants, especially if they have large wedding dresses, it’s a luxurious drive. We have the Mercedes V Class Xtra Long premium vehicle with full leather interior, air con and the rear seats are set up boardroom style and have the use of a table and seats for up to 7 people depending on the configuration. Then we also have the use of a Bentley Continental Flying Spur for those special occasions in stunning black with cream leather interior, full air con and its huge interior space. We have other options available as well so why not call or email us and ask the question and let us see what we can do.
At Manner borne our main priority is you the customer so we will always try and go that extra mile to ensure that your trip, journey, occasion is meticulously dealt with and we will cater for everything that’s within our grasp.
A comprehensive gait assessment allows your Wellbeing Coach to determine if your feet are having a negative impact on the way that you stand, walk, run and move especially if you have foot related problems such as knee, hip and back pain.
The assessment includes a foot scan using the GaitScan Computerized Analysis.
A report will be generated by the GaitScan software that your coach will review and recommend a treatment plan.
Performance custom orthotics may be recommended as a non-invasive treatment of foot-related problems such as knee, hip, and back pain.
They also may be helpful in treating bunions, corns, hammertoes, sore arches, plantar fasciitis, sore ankles, shin splints and more.

You don’t have to be a seasoned athlete or body builder to enjoy the benefits of a Personal Trainer. Personal Training benefits both the person who has never worked out as well as professional athletes. It all starts with a YOUnique PT screen.
No one should consider attempting any exercise programme without first being screened for how they move. Therefore Champneys movement screen focuses on fundamental movements with the number one goal of preventing injury.
This session includes: •Movement Analysis • Sweat Session •Health Review •Body Composition Analysis
The movement screen allows every one of our members to be tested in 7 fundamental movements including walking, squats, pushing and pulling. Any imbalances are highlighted and considered when programming specific exercises for that person. This is why a one size fits all approach does not work. It can be the most wonderful time of the year, but it’s also a season of indulgence and excess! With a combination of heavy meals, alcohol-fuelled gatherings, and Christmas puddings, the festive season can take its toll on our bodies and minds. Our mental health can suffer as we deal with the increased stress and anxiety of planning Christmas events, saving money for presents during a cost-of-living crisis, and dealing with difficult family members on the big day. Physical health can take a dive thanks to weight gain and bloating from extreme shifts in dietary patterns and winter bugs, welcomed in through immunosuppressing foods and drinks. If we’re not conscious and careful, harmful habits can continue throughout the New Year. You don’t have to go to extremes to reset your body and mind after the festive feast. Take care of your body with the intention of mindfulness, nourishment and self-love. Here are Champneys top tips and tricks on how to safely detox after the Christmas season.
Over the Christmas period, we often find ourselves sitting on the sofa for long periods of time, drinking in abundance and watching seasonal specials or binge-worthy box sets on TV. Being sedentary can make you feel fatigued, lethargic, and bloated. The less you do, the less you want to do! That can lead you to repeat these harmful habits well past December 31st. To help cleanse your body and mind, improve your energy levels and digestion, it’s important to get outside and get moving! The winter season is probably one of the toughest times of the year to stay active. It’s cold outside, and there’s less daylight, making it hard to get out of bed
in the morning and motivate yourself to exercise. However, staying active during the cold months can help you beat seasonal affective disorder (SAD), maintain your fitness goals into 2023 and feel generally happier. In line with Public Health England guidance, we should all be supplementing vitamin D3 during the darker months of October to March too. Speak to Champneys Wellbeing department to stock up on our recommended vitamin D supplement. When you are exercising, especially when it’s cold, it’s important that you stretch before your workouts to improve your circulation, mobility and avoid injury. Find an exercise form that you like so your routine stays consistent. Try new group classes at your Champneys Health Club or book some one-toone Personal Training sessions with one of our experts to get you focussed and fired up. If you’ve made an appointment with someone, you’re more likely to be accountable and show up too!
Alcohol-free challenges are great for boosting your motivation and holding you accountable to making lasting, healthy changes beyond all the Christmas overindulgence. They’re incredibly helpful to help reset, realign, and rewrite unhealthy behaviour patterns. Whether it’s to give your body time to recover post-Christmas, re-examine your drinking habits or quit drinking for good, you’ll develop better habits for controlling your alcohol consumption. An added perk is that you can also get into shape, sleep more deeply, and improve your mood. You don’t have to do the challenges alone. You can access a friendly online global community of other people on the same journey or try the challenges out with a supportive friend/ family member. Find out more or join ‘Dry January’ here..... https://alcoholchange.org.uk/help-andsupport/managing-your-drinking/dry-january
On average, one Christmas dinner can contain over 1000 calories for the main course alone. That’s not to include nibbles, canapes, starter, Christmas pudding or the booze and cheeseboard! Estimated UK calorie consumption on Christmas day is around 5500kcal. Surveys have concluded we start drinking before Noon on Christmas Day and many of us can easily put away over a week’s worth of alcohol units on just that day. Needless to say, come New Year your body is often ready for a well-deserved detox. Festive foods and alcohol can wreak havoc with your blood sugar levels and digestion. One way to help regulate glycaemic control and your gut health, is to include an abundance of fibrous vegetables in your diet, Kale, carrots, broccoli, beetroot and cauliflower will all give your body a boost of fibre. Opting for wholegrain cereals, bread and pasta can also help. The added bonus is that because fibrous foods take longer to digest, they keep you feeling fuller for longer so can potentially help to manage overall kcal intake and weight too. Champneys New Lief weight loss retreat has a specially designed menu that is calorie controlled, plant forward and high in fibre. This retreat is ideal to kick-start your desire to change body shape and lose weight whilst learning about ways to work successfully towards longer term weight management. Find out more and book here..... https://www.champneys.com/retreats/weight-loss-anddetox/new-lief-weight-loss-programme/ Also why not try our Dropit 21 weight loss programme.
Plenty of fluids will keep you energised and help eliminate toxins from your body. This is vital if you’ve binged in excess during the Christmas season! Some key signs of toxin build-up in the body include bad breath, lethargy, brain fog, nausea and brittle hair and nails. To stay hydrated with a little boost, squeeze the juice of half a lemon and some grated fresh ginger into warm water. Lemons are a source of vitamin C and ginger may have anti-inflammatory properties and support digestion. Another good option is to drink green tea or white tea for an antioxidant boost but without as much caffeine as regular black tea. If you find it hard to drink the recommended 8 glasses of water a day, try a mixture of hot and cold, still and sparkling, diluted juices and infusions to increase appeal and help build the habit. Eating plenty of foods with a highwater content can help too although we shouldn’t rely on these in place of drinking! —such foods include as cucumber tomatoes, broccoli, watermelon, strawberries and blueberries. Hopefully these health hacks will aid you in embracing the fun and frivolities of the festive season but leave you feeling fresh and ready to take on the New Year towards a ‘’Healthy me for ‘23’’.
